  1. Can't you disable the sensors as mentioned by @Texas earlier in the post?
  2. The grilles should be all the same size & shape. F-Sport trim level didn't exist until the facelift model came out, so it's a facelift-only part. Anything advertised for an earlier car is a fake/replica. Unless you have ACC/PCS, 53112-53902 is the correct (and current) part number, which superseded previous # 53112-53220. Supposedly the older part # is a darker colour than the one that replaced it, but could just be variables in picture/lighting. The top one looks more like what's on my car though (a 2011). Top pic part # : 53112-53902 Bottom pic part # 53112-53220
  3. Haven't used that product, but get similar results by using a small amount of Gyeon Bathe+ (an Si02-infused shampoo) through a foam lance.
  4. If your car is a facelift model with turn signals in the door mirrors and L-shaped reversing lights, it'll have the correct bumper for it to be compatible. 2005-09 cars have a different shaped front bumper, so the F-Sport grille doesn't fit those.
  5. Yep, £282. Down from £325 last year. I'm actually seeing a few quotes generated on confused.com that are under £200, but that's for esure who ripped me off in the past, so they're not an option.
  6. Received my renewal quote from Admiral last week and was pleasantly surprised that it'll be £40-odd lower than 2021, so I'll be staying with them. What really piqued my interest though is that they seem to be pushing usage of the "MyTrips" function on their App. Basically, it sounds like Google-style location tracking with potential discounts available for "good" drivers. The data can also be used to pinpoint your location for emergency assistance in the event of a claim/accident. Apparently the data isn't used against you (regardless of driving performance) to increase your premium. Anyway, as someone who doesn't exceed speed limits too often, or when I do, not by much (😉). I'm tempted to enable the feature to see if I can reduce my premium even further. Does anyone have any experience of this, or a similar thing with another insurer?
  7. Yes, great ads. Became a long-running campaign culminating in this.
  8. Luke, you can swap the front brakes for those from a GS450h - or any other Lexus models that feature those same ADVICS 4-piston calipers. They're a direct bolt-on replacement with just a small piece of the dust shield needing to be trimmed to accommodate them on an IS. Pair them with a set of GS450h discs & pads and you have a significant upgrade. Furthermore, the GS calipers are a monobloc design which makes them maintenance-free with none of the anxiety that they'll eventually start sticking and seizing up. Maybe, but I agree with Linas in that they feel kind of weak, even in perfect working order. The front disc diameter is only the same size as a 1st-gen IS200, which weighs over 200kg less. Anyway, I'm curious to know what you guys mean when you say braking/stopping "power" doesn't get increased with bigger brakes? If you mean stopping distance then yes I would agree, but for me, braking power is most definitely increased. The brakes are more powerful and require less physical effort (on the brake pedal) to achieve the same level of retardation.
  9. Should be. The trouble is those electrochromic (?) mirrors were only fitted to one IS200 model AFAIK - the 2003-04 LE model, so pickings will be slim.
  10. A man walks into his bedroom and discovers that his wife is packing a suitcase. He asks "What are you doing?" She answers, "I'm moving to Germany. I heard prostitutes there get paid €400 for doing what I do for you for free." Later that night, the wife is just about to leave when she notices her husband in the bedroom and he's also packing a suitcase. When she asks him where he's going, he replies, "I'm coming too. I want to see how you live on €800 a year."
