  1. That aftermarket chrome tip is a few mm too small, so don't buy it. It's exactly the same diameter as the exhaust and won't slide over the top of it. You can guess why I know this... I got an OEM one from ebay instead and cleaned it up with steel wool and metal polish. Looks great now. Expensive for what it is, but its a very effective visual mod that adds a touch of class, so was worth every penny imho.
  2. I looked into this last year after fitting new suspension bits (getting a "WiM" alignment done at one of the franchised outlets) and apparently once you book an alignment online, Tony will then forward "his" geometry settings on to the person in the garage who'll be working on your car. So, in theory, you'll be getting the same spec alignment in the local outlet as you would showing up at WiM, in person. The website was borked when I tried to order though so I never went through with it. I see it's working fine now though... Anyone able to confirm this is how it works when dealing with a franchised outlet?
  3. TEIN S-Tech springs will lower the rear a bit more than the front. Another possible option would be to keep the Eibachs, but fit KONI Sport shocks. They have a lower spring perch on them which can be used to drop the height another 15mm or so. I'd imagine they'd be way stiffer than stock dampers, even on their softest setting though...
  4. 2003-on cars have a different bulb type in their fogs; H3.
  5. It looks to me like your wheels are a non-standard colour and have previously been refurbished or painted that way at some point. I've certainly never seen that type of wheel in a dark colour before as standard, they're normally bright silver. Following Steve's advice looks to be your best option.

  8. Excellent. Looking forward to the pics. :) I expect they will fill up the arches very nicely if they're the specs I think they are (8" wide & et30). B)
  9. I only have this one of my car since it was lowered. The picture in Matt Hillyard's signature gives you a good idea of what the wheelarch gaps are like with the Eibach springs, The IS's naturally "raked" stance is retained so the rear gap is about 5-10mm larger.
  10. Those Hankooks are proper low resistance tyres then? I had always assumed they were high performance tyres and a successor to the K110 V12 Evo which I used to have on my car. I seen an old episode of 5th Gear on Dave the other week where they tested Eco tyres on a small hatchback. The test was pretty limited since they only filled the car with one gallon of fuel and then ran it dry, but the tyres seemingly made very little difference. What pressure are you running in them? Increasing the PSI to somewhere near the "high speed/fully-loaded" settings might help you claw back a MPG or two.
  11. 205/55R16 is slightly larger in diameter than a 215/45R17 (632mm vs 625mm), so that will be having some effect.
  12. Perhaps the wheel nuts are the problem? Are you using the normal Lexus nuts? If the holes on the GTR wheels are tapered you will probably need "acorn" type nuts for them.
  13. Those do look a bit longer than normal. Presumably unique to factory-fitted 16s.
  14. They're a direct replacement so you don't need anything extra. Just the springs. I have mine combined with OEM-spec shocks and the ride is very comfortable.
  15. I replaced my shocks last year with a set of these; http://www.kyb-europe.com/shocks-excel-g.html They were exactly the same as the ones that were fitted to the car. Same part number and everything, the only difference was the lack of a TOYOTA stamp. You can get them for around £55-60 each on eBay.
  16. Yep, electrochromatic mirrors on the LE. I bought a standard mirror (genuine) to replace one of mine and the wiring plugs were a bit different. The power connector was the same so it could be adjusted and folded, but the connector for the heating element wasn't.
  17. Super Pro are a renowned brand so I'm sure those would be fine, and offer improved driving feel and performance over OEM, but I'd personally be wary of having them on a Lexus where the luxury aspect is such a significant factor. I've no experience with those particular items, but one of my previous cars was poly-bushed and I wouldn't go down that road again. Typically, polyurethane "upgrade" bushes introduce more harshness, vibration etc into the ride quality. Plus, they may end up creaking or squeaking after a while and need to be lubricated again. If mine ever need to be replaced, I'll be going for the TRD bushes.
  18. The majority of wheels in the Lexus family will fit an IS as they share the same PCD and centre bore. I've got Mk1 RX300/Toyota Harrier wheels on mine. In terms of 16" wheels, there's a number of other options besides these and the 220d wheels. The IS200 S came with 16s in a couple of designs depending on year, plus those from early GS300 etc also fit no problem.
  19. I bought these for my main beam and I'm very happy with them. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3f0bc899c3 Much brighter than stock bulbs and the colour output compliments the factory HIDs quite well. They supposedly put out 130w worth of light and I can quite believe it. Been in my car over a year and no issues with overheating etc. In my sidelights, I believe it's these that I have. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item335434dc8f The light they give out is quite blue-ish but I think they look good.
  20. A few things come to mind; - A manual gearbox option. - Sports seats. - Brakes that were of a higher spec than a lesser model. You won't find 320i brakes on a 330i but that's exactly the case on the Lexus.
  21. You can hide that banner at the bottom of the screen by clicking the arrow next to the twitter and facebook buttons. Good luck with the search.
  22. I fitted a K&N panel filter a couple of months ago. The throttle response was improved and the engine generally feels like its breathing better and is more willing to rev. Sound-wise, there's a bit of a mild grunt from around 3K if you accelerate with purpose, definitely a bit throatier than stock. Otherwise its just as quiet as an OEM-style paper filter during normal driving. It's doubtful if it provides a power increase as I can't really feel one. If there is, it'll be at the very top end of the rev range.
