  1. Overtaken by a really nice looking black IS200. Black alloys, tints... looked like the batmobile. Wonder who's it was... think it had a private plate
  2. Sounds like it could be error3'd, in that case it's buggered. You will either need to purchase a new radio or install a grom kit for iphone/ipod... Before that try taking your CD player out of the dash and see if you can fix manually by poking out the cd's
  3. Would anyone hazard a guess what level of tint is applied to those windows? I have the exact same colour car and that looks like a nice light shade...
  4. I predict it will be 1.50 a litre by summer, notice how the garages keep creeping up the price by a penny every week or so... one garage here is 1.35 and other in Worcester is 1.41... they make up their own prices...will soon be £100 to fill up an IS200
  5. Did you get the grom audio unit from ebay? Also do you have a bottom loader cd unit? I am thinking of installing one of these as my cd player (top loader 2003) has error3'd
  6. get about 300 out of mine all dual carriageway, guess i drive too fast to make any savings
  7. Doesn't say much about the MOT place you have sent your car too. A bit like failing it on wipers when perfectly ok, they might be following the law but was a bit harsh considering you didn't try to misrepresent the characters. Bet they were quick enough to try and flog you a set of their £stupid.99 plates. Can get sets from ebay with all legal marking dirt cheap have ordered many before
  8. Is this one of these 'grom' things? http://www.ebay.co.u...#ht_3044wt_1163 or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/iPod-iPhone-Interface-Adaptor-LEXUS-GS300-IS200-IS300-/170760058480?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item27c217b670#ht_3462wt_1163 I am looking for one on ebay, do you recommend this?
  9. Update: I have managed to get the CD's to play however when you insert a new CD you can hear a clicking sound and then they disapear. Does anyone have any diagrams of inside the actual CD player as I think this is fixable. I am back in the position where I cannot reject CD's now. http://www.youtube.com/embed/wxJkj_Ugdnc
  10. I've removed the whole unit and removed the cd's from the stereo however now it just whips back to the Radio and does not allow me to insert or reject anything. I used to have the error3 message display and whip back to radio again. I've removed the fuse and battery to see if this would resolve the issue but still nothing. Is it completely dead now and time to buy a new radio? How much are Lexus charging for replacements?
  11. My headlights are very poor, I even purchased some of those blue bulbs advertised to give even more light but they seem to make it impossible to see at night. At the moment I'm literally driving everywhere with my fog lights on for extra light. I EVEN went as far as buying brand new headlights from aclex for few hundred quid... I'm at a loss, all of the previous MOT and services by the old owner don't even mention the lights being out? I don't want to consider the HID lights as I heard they are illegal to fit in the reflector cases and light beams all over the place... But it might have to come to that so I can safely drive at night! Comments?
  12. ebay is your best bet, always a set on there
  13. Is this actually going to be possible though? Say for example a car slices you up close changing lanes on a motorway... the computer system thinks a crash it going to happen and slams on your brakes...causing all the cars behind you to crash into you... even if all the cars behind have that special technology... people drive too close to each other generally on a motorway so there wouldn't be enough of a braking distance... meh, I don't know.. just a thought - Maybe it will cause accidents rather than prevent by being over cautious, like the ISF example above...
  14. I understand the point about the disabled, I am all for the rise for this group and do not want to see any cuts for them. But many in the private sector haven't had a 5% payrise so why should people on jobseekers allowance for example? We all pay for gas and electric each at different levels, and those who are paying for a mortgage are still struggling as much as those who are unemployed... I hope you get the point I'm trying to make... As a nation we've all got used to living on credit, constantly being bombarded with capitalone platinum cards through the post... it's time to live within our means now in my opinion... who are to blame? In my opinion it's the banks lending money to people left right and centre for luxury items... Good discussion folks, time for bed..
  15. Strictly my opinion here: I think that everybody needs to accept the cuts including those in the public sector. I think the most scandalous thing that has stood out the most for me was the 5% rise for those who are unemployed. Everybody is facing cuts yet people who aren't contributing get a payrise... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Makes it even harder for those on minimum wage to break even as they are better off on the dole. So is it encouraging people not to work and pay tax towards the state pension pot??
  16. ormi your car looks like you have spent a lot of time and money on it... very nice!
  17. You can get the plate s3xus if anyone is looking. I own L80OOL paid 250 from DVLA
  18. This was a topic discussed on talksport recently and they pretty much said it was for sad people... do you own a personalised plate? If so what have you got and how much did you pay. I was surprised to see the amount of money people are expecting for cherished plates, some mediocre ones for a quarter of a million! I like them original plates that aren't somebodies initials, or advertising the fact they have a V6 or V8.. I think that is cheesy. Also people who put screws in them, I think that's really cheap...

  20. Everybody has a BMW nowadays from directors to chavs on a council estate... in my opinion it has lost it's glamour it once had... whereas Lexus people just assume you have money as you don't often see any old riff raff driving... I just think of them as company cars now like the passat, mondeo and vectra...
  21. I avoid parking mine on the side of the road at night, no matter where even outside my home (in a village) - I too find end parking spaces or ones next to expensive cars like mercs so you know they aren't going to be the type of person to key it or give you a parking dent.. So far so good, not an incident..
