  1. Oohhh does someone else use an LS as a taxi then? Thanks for the trade tip by the way, I can't think why I didn't think of that earlier doh!! Not being sarcastic btw just being thick!
  2. Update for anyone who may be interested. Had Lexie back to the installer today and he found an intermittent fault on two injectors. One was weak the other was over fuelling! Its not surprising it was acting weirdly! The smell of gas seems to have gone too fingers crossed. As it took ages to find the fault he even bought me lunch! He also said he thought my coils might need changing soon but that it was a job fairly easy to tackle at home. Has anyone changed the coils on a mk3 and if so was it reasonably straight forward? Also did you notice a difference in economy/performance? I've already done the plugs and leads so might as well do the coils too. Thanks for everyone's advice so far, much appreciated.
  3. So do I. I'm tempted to take it elsewhere but I don't see why I should have to pay more!!
  4. Thanks for the info Steve. In that case does the offer still stand? Cheers Pete.
  5. I'm having it back in the garage on Monday. In the mean time I'm running on petrol, expensive but I'm not going to risk running on gas until its sorted. As for the over fuelling, that's the third or fourth time I've been told that. I will investigate further. Thanks for all the input guys.
  6. Hi Steve sorry to jump in on this thread. Do you happen to know if the celsior radio you mentioned to me before will pick up UK radio or is the frequency set up different? Cheers Pete.
  7. Hi Mark that's great info. Where do you get your tyres from? Pete.
  8. I've not found the thread, but there was one recently mentioning obd2 readers that were good value and worked. One might assume that as they were reported as working they may well be supplied with the correct connectors. I don't know much about the subject, I just seem to recall reading that somewhere not so long ago. Maybe someone might remember where they saw it as I have trouble searching using my phone.........note to self, fix my pc!
  9. New battery is where I would start too. Got mine from Toyota for a very reasonable price.
  10. Congrats on a successful install, I wish I had gone to profess now, Bluesman swears by them.
  11. You can go off people can't you haha. Good luck with the sat nav hope you get it sorted.
  12. Errr I would as previously mentioned check they are not just frozen, mine were this morning.
  13. Errr.......... Just mount it on the right hand side of the screen ie to the right of the steering wheel.
  14. Haha have a quick look at the comments below the article, it appears we are not alone in thinking that was a daft; ill informed article.
  15. Yes I also let the steering wheel sort itself out on entry and exit. I don't feel the urge to multi task (multi tasking = buggering up more than one thing at a time!)
  16. It also depends on weight in the car and speeds travelled. I keep mine at 36 rears and 38 fronts.
  17. I fully support your wish to have the dealers clarify what the vehicle actually has had done. Whether the data sheet is purposely vague I would not know having never seen one ( not rich enough! ). I do however believe a lot of paper work is....how shall I put it.........obstructive to easy perusal in order that we don't spot the rip offs quite so readily. I believe ALL small print should be a minimum of 12 or 14 point by law. Mike is right, if we don't stand up and say no to shoddy practise whether it be a mistake or by design, then how are we to expect to be treated fairly and honestly? I for one will not be dropping my trousers ( pants for our American cousins ) and grabbing my ankles any time soon!! Is it possible for us Lexus owners to get a recommended list going giving details of mechanics, dealers and suppliers who give excellent and honest quality service? I've seen a few mentioned down south who appear to be great, how about a sticky with their details on please Steve? Rant over......sorry about that....I'm just passionate about excellent customer service.
