  1. If I remember correctly a member called Ruud could help you out with said item.
  2. Haha I was just going to say the only oooooohhh or aaaaaaaahhh I get nowadays comes from a cuppa but Mike beat me too it.
  3. That piston head one is in my town and I'm happy to go and have a look if anyone needs me too. Could check history and general condition but would need a bit of guidance from those who know 430's about other areas to look out for. I've not heard any bad reports about that dealer but will ask around none the less.
  4. I am also thinking of this move, so I will keep an eye on this thread. I like the facelift 430 when it went from 5 to 6 speed gearbox and would love to know if anyone has experienced both cars and which one they thought was best. Don't mean to hijack but thought you might also find info relevant if someone has tried both 430's. Pete
  5. I know what you mean Scribe. Unlike you however, I have on occasion enjoyed removing that stupid grin that Saxo driving chavs wear. Oh so satisfying. Childish I know, but worth it :-)
  6. I always wave and I love the look on their faces when it dawns on them that my Lexie is a taxi .They are surprised at first but then smile as if to say " what a damn fine taxi that must be"
  7. Can you park on double yellows Mike? My insurance is horrendous so you are doing very well at 500 at your age.
  8. What's the project? Removing the people responsible from the gene pool?
  9. I think I will compile a list of previously used by members colours in case some one asks again in future.
  10. Errr if its loosing memory does it have a permanent memory power supply like some after market stereos require. Or maybe a battery memory back up like pc's? Probably daft questions but throwing it out there just in case.
  11. I believe you Mike.........well except the sun shining bit lol
  12. I had a similar problem and cleaning the throttle body cleared it right up. Its really really easy to do with basic tools and I agree no need for a screw driver scraper I used a roughed up end of bamboo cane and a tooth brush. Just take your time and don't rush, 2 hours max.
  13. Send them an email Steve, you never know they might be able to get them for you. My wind deflectors are coming from Germany where they are made. They seem to be the best quality if all the reviews are to be believed unlike some of the dodgy old stick on ones I've had in the past. One of my colleagues has them on his Avensis and swears by them as he like us, also likes to drive with the window cracked open. I will try and post a pic when I get a chance. 10 shilling note Mike!! Have you still got one? Pete
  14. Hi Guys Some may remember I asked some time ago about wind deflectors for my 400 and got loads of great info. One company mentioned as good quality was Climair and I have since sorted a pair from their direct website, working out slightly cheaper than some on Ebay. The 95-2000 ls400 doesn't show on their website at last looking but they are updating this shortly so it will be corrected then. "Your part is the 1639 which says 1990-1994 on the website but does fit all models between 1989-2000 I have inserted the link to this for you" http://www.climairuk.com/product.php?productid=668&cat=0&page=1 Whilst I was talking to them, I enquired if we could as a club have a discount and they said yes and if anyone from the forum uses code "Club 197" without the quotes obviously it would be good for a further 10% off. At the moment some items are already 13% discounted so added together, not a bad discount. I don't know if the mods want to move the discount code to another section as it stands for ALL lexus models for anyone from the forum. I hope no one minds that I asked for a club discount, Its a habit of mine!! Cheers Pete
  15. Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I will take them onboard. I'm hoping I might have something sorted out but will fall back on these recommendations if needed.
  16. I don't know what these guys are like but some of their stuff looks like stuff from rock auto and they seem ok. I wonder if any anyone has used them in the past. It would be great if we had a list of good suppliers we could confidently use. Item number on fleabay 290639102536 Hope it helps.
  17. Very true. However they are tatty alloys not bone China so I'm not too worried. Anything that would cause more than scratches wouldn't be stopped by bubble wrap anyway.
  18. Brilliant thanks for the info guys. The more I read the more I think its a arse covering exercise for insurance purposes.
  19. @bookend I can't say where in surrey as its not my address to bandy about if you see what I mean.
