  1. This looks really interesting and is exactly the sort of thing that I am looking for. I do have a couple of questions though please. I have sourced the Blackberry Music gateway here http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/390483881194?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&cbt=y but it doesn't look to be the same as in your second photograph, your packaged iten seems to contain more stuff and so i am wondering, have I got the correct item? I use an iPhone 4 and am wondering if I need the Mini Blackberry Car Charger as my phone is always fully charged when I get into my car or, do I need it to power the music gateway? Thank you for the information provided in this thread it really is extremely useful. I presume that my wife can use her iPad for music when she is in the car. thanks again.
  2. Hi Richard, yes indeed these units are very good. You will see from earlier in this thread that I did the mod to my 220D which necessitated a variation to the actual wring but Michael and Mr P in Thailand were very helpful in getting it all working OK. I did intend to fit the unit to the IS250 that I now have but, because it's not a genuine Lexus part, I have been advised that it will invalidate my warranty, which still has quite some time to run. With that in mind I have decided not to proceed.
  3. Well, I must admit that I love it and if I had the pennies I would probably buy one! I imagine that there are quite a few more people out there who will feel the same as I do. You can't please all of the people all of the time. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I happened to read an article today where one person slated another and said that they had bad fashion sense. The person who had so called bad fashion sense dresses to please themselves, not anyone else and, to others other than the slater, they probably look good. What appeals to some, doesn't appeal to others. Good job really or this beautiful planet would be a dull old place.........wouldn't it?
  4. I started a thread about IAM membership and got some interesting replies. I must admit to not being aware that RoSPA did a similar driving test and so would like to ask, are there any RoSPA members on LOC? and if so, did you make comparisons between the two bodies and what made you choose RoSPA?
  5. Hello IanS200, sorry to hear of all your problems during 2012. I hope that 2013 will be a much better year for you, I wish you good health and lots of good fortune for the coming year. Can I put you down for centre forward for Saturday then?
  6. Hi Chris, interesting post you have made there. What got me interested in the IAM was, my wife asked me what I would like for Christmas and as usual I didn't know. She then suggested the IAM test and I became very interested but, one of the things that I wasn't sure about was the fact that I now drive an automatic and, your post mentions gear changes in some detail. I am wondering what the IAM's thoughts are on this. Are there any particular things that they look for when teaching/testing auto drivers. Hope this isn't too daft a point I am raising here!
  7. Some interesting responses, thank you to all who have contributed thus far.
  8. Shame you didn't buy mine at the time Kenny, I think you may have fared better, Anyway good luck with the new one. It was good speaking with you at the time. Best wishes for 2013. regards, Geoff
  9. Have thought about taking the Institute of Advanced Motorists Driving Test. Just wondering if there are any members on here that might like to comment. Thank you
  10. Agree with other posters, the car looks terrific, lovely colour. welcome to the LOC
  11. Too late by the looks of things but yes, I got mine off Andy at Lexus Poole, brilliant.
  12. have a quick look here http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/advice/road-tax-guide/
  13. Just popped outside to check the tax on my 06 plate Is250 auto and I definitely paid £270.00 effective from 01/09/2012
  14. Oh Blimey, this is going to push the everage up somewhat....................................72 years young and can still cover 100 yards pretty quickly (No not metres!)
  15. Hi again Exdee, thanks for getting back to me.................again. I have just successfully posted my piccy in this thread http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=80221 Can you tell me why it works when I do it via Notebook. I definitely did not use that method when I posted all my previous pics, so am confused. Thanks again for all your help.
  16. Here is a picture of Benji for anyone who may be interested. This is the little scallywag that converted me!
  17. Hiya Exdee, first off, hope you had a good night last night and enjoyed the bus ride! Here is my attempt at the exercise you requested. I highlighted the item in your post, I then right clicked on it and chose 'copy' I then opened Notebook and pasted the copied item. I then couldn't do that same procedure in Notebook (the right click bit) so I went into 'edit' and chose copy and then went back into the thread in the LOC and pasted it and below is the result. * Hopefully you will see this today and that it will be of some help to you. This is all rather strange really because I posted loads of pictures in my thread "Problems Headed off at the Pass" and had no such problems at that time but, as I have said, I really can't remember how I posted them. I don't recall that it was a difficult procedure. I have no problems at all when posting pictures to my threads in Talk Photography but then the system is different on that site. Thanks again for trying to help. *
  18. Exdee, did you mean copy and paste it into notepad first and then when I've done that, copy it from notepad and then paste it into my reply here? I have to go out now, new year celebwotsits and all that, so i will look here again first thing in the morning and see if the problem can be resolved. Meanwhile thanks to all who are trying to help.
  19. Right then, here is my 'copy and paste'[IMG]http://i49.tinypic.com/wryqkl.jpg You've lost me when you refer to 'code' I'm afraid I also went into your link and where it suggested I click on default security settings, I'm afraid that was greyed out.
  20. Not having much joy here I'm afraid. Updated to IE9 but no good with that. Installed Firefox and couldn't do any good with that either. Sorry chaps, any other thoughts please?
  21. Hi Ian, tried your suggestion but I just got a red cross where the image should be. Any thoughts?
  22. I have attached quite a few images to some threads that I have started in the past but do you think I can remember how to do it, not on your life!!! Can anyone remind me how this is done please. Many thanks.
  23. I was never a dog person and it would never have crossed my mind to get one. My wife retired last year and wanted a dog and so I said OK but always remember "it's your dog and not mine" We have had Benji for 18 months and guess what, I wouldn't want to be without him now! I don't even like leaving him on his own while we do the shopping! I am well and truly converted,
