  1. Hello BubbaKLex, Have a look at this link, it should be of some help to you. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/78409-sat-nav-disk-removal-tools/
  2. Resetting the windows is a very simple operation really. For a guide on how to do it though, just go into 'Forums' and without going into any of the sub forums (such as the IS250 one) scroll down the page and keep your eye on the right-hand-side and you will spot the guide you require which was put up originally by normski.
  3. Great job..........well done, it looks the bees knees. It's got me thinking about doing some work on my own now. At the moment mine is filthy!!!!
  4. Have a look at my links in post #5 above. The cleaning kit that I used did a splendid job, it doesn't just clean the EGR Valve. If you need more information and some expert guidance, Give Peter Trott a call, his details are given somewhere in the thread, he is extremely helpful and even offers to do the job if the person requiring help lives within a reasonable distance.
  5. Yes indeed, there is lots of drivel spewed out but, my feelings are, that anyone who doesn't own a TV are missing out on some really cracking documentaries that are screened from time to time. Each to their own eh!
  6. Have a read of these threads from start to finish, might be of some help to you. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/76569-problems-headed-off-at-the-pass/ http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/78585-still-going-extremely-well/
  7. Sounds good, about half the normal price and, as the part number appears the same. this should all be OK
  8. Hiya Beejay, I put a new DVD in my 2006 IS250-SEL in the past couple of months. It is dated 2012-2013 and the part number is PZ445-X03EU-OC The information provided on the DVD was collected up to April 2011 and was released in 2012 I would have thought that your SatNav would be the same as mine but I'm not 100% about that. Hope this might be of some help to you.
  9. Hiya, the links above for the mini USB is the one that I used for my modification. Also have a look at this link. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/70947-diy-bluetooth-music-streaming-using-a2dp/ I did the complete jobby and it works a real treat. Hope this helps you.
  10. I have to say that the sentence starting "His immaculate TTE" brought a lump to my throat. I always find that little things such as that at funerals is always very moving/emotional.
  11. I took my IS250 for its first decent run since I bought it at the end of September 2012. I went up to Lincolnshire via the M5 - M42 - bits of the M1 and M69 and then the A46 and A17, a total of 545 miles round trip On the motorway I was using cruise control at around 75 mph with the odd surge up to 80 mph. This included the usual interruptions of 50mph on three contraflow systems. On arrival back at home the computer was showing an average of 38.2 mpg. I'm not too sure how accurate the on-board computer is but am wondering if this is the sort of return I should be expecting. The drive was superb and effortless with plenty of power being available when needed. My three passengers all enjoyed the comfortable ride. I made sure that I purchased my fuel before going on to the motorway. I topped the tank up for the return journey at 132.9 per litre and when we stopped off at the Michael Wood services for a cuppa I noticed that they were charging 143.9 per litre!!
  12. Just wondering what you folk rely on for checking your tyre pressures? Any particular make of gauge that can be classed as reliable? Am just off on a trip to Lincolnshire so am checking all of the necessary of which tyres are one. I have no less than 4 different gauges and believe it or not they all give different readings! I have heard on numerous occasions that garage air pumps are generally unreliable too. How nice it would be to buy something that is accurate.
  13. This question is asked purely from an interest point of view and might seem stupid to some but, I'm sure that someone very technically minded will provide some useful information in this regard. So here goes.........apart from the blatantly obvious, what is the difference between a 'straight six' engine and a 'V six engine'. Are they more efficient/economical? Thanks for reading.
  14. I have a 2006 IS250SE-L with al the bells and whistles and the Mark Levinson audio system. It drives like an absolute dream, so quiet and smooth. The power is there too when you need to put your foot down and, it is even more impressive with the ECT Power switch on! I am off on a 600mile round trip at the weekend and it will be the longest trip I have made since buying the car last September. It will be interesting to see what sort of mpg returns I get on this journey, although for me the comfort and driveability will be more important. I bought mine from a Lexus dealer with 12 months warranty and a pay monthly service plan.
  15. Yes, page 171 of the owners manual does say that it is not recommended but that statement is written beneath the heading "Vehicles for Singapore" For vehicles outside of Singapore it doesn't say that it's not recommended. I'm hoping to come across someone who actually does it or, has done it in the past and can offer their thoughts. Thanks for your input Tango.
  16. I have done a search on here and have found a few people who have towed a caravan with their IS but, they all seem to be the 220d. Has any member, or does any member, tow a caravan with their IS250 Automatic? Thanks for any input.
  17. As others have said, your time will come again. Make sure that you enjoy every moment. Time flies by so quickly, before you know it they will donning their first school uniform, then they'll be a teenager and so it goes on. My eldest is 47 and I honestly can't believe where that time has gone. Many congratulations to you and your family. I'm not ashamed to admit that my favourite smell in all the world is of a baby that has just had its bath, bloomin great!!!
  18. Ask your insurance company what their stance is when you are hit by an uninsured driver and in particular give them the full details of exactly what happened. Don't forget to ask the police for any information relevant to the matter, pass this on to your insurer. Many insurers now operate a no loss of NCD where you are not at fault and the other party is uninsured. Good luck and keep us informed.
  19. Thanks for that info Graham, I will have a look at them. I've been messing around for ages trying to decide what to buy so now that the weather is on the up (hopefully) I need to get my finger out and get cracking. Thanks again.
  20. If you are a 'bit' of an anorak' when it comes to polishes and waxes, I would be interested to know if you have settled on a particular choice now and if so, what are your preferences for bodywork and wheels?
  21. You've got the photo of the wheel, you now need to pop back to the location of the pothole and take a picture of it and submit a claim to the local council. Explain exactly what happened including the time and date. There was a brilliant article in the Mail on Sunday a couple of weeks ago all about the amount that the councils are paying out in compensation for such damage. I was going to keep the article for future reference and as help for fellow members who find themselves in this situation but unfortunately my wife had binned it. Go for it!
  22. What an absolutely cracking motor.........love it..........love it..................love it. Would love to see the inside.............please
  23. I used to have a nice blue Opel Ascona, got some piccy's somewhere
  24. Had both of those..........................not worth talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
