  1. Yes - I'm planning on rechecking the tightness of the bolt at the weekend and don't expect any issues. As you say it was either an installation issue or (as I suspect) done by the local dealer when doing my wheel alignment after the event.
  2. Hi Guys - just a heads-up for those of you with a USRS fitted to your cars. Driving home from work today I noticed a rumbling/rattle from the front near side of my car. Thinking it might be a loose wheel nut(s) I eventually sourced it to the spindle nut on my USRS that was loose. Bit surprised and shocked at this, just glad it didn't drop off during a motorway drive etc. I had mine fitted about six weeks ago and had only covered a few hundred miles. I checked all the other nuts on both sides and all seemed okay. According to the fit instructions the torque on the spindle nut is 83 lb. Not sure if it was a mistake during fitting or a potential weakness in the system, but worth knowing about... Cheers
  3. Back on topic... I reckon anyone who has an issue with objective scrutiny about a car they are selling is 99.9% hiding something and given said car was below market price best avoided IMHO!
  4. The latter posts are a gentle reminder to fellow ISF owners that we are 'not alone' in terms of other Lexus model owners who flatter us with their presence in our threads about owning our cars....
  5. Couple of thoughts on this: - you need to tighten the screw on Edgeware as this is your worktime this is taking-up - Take the service manager for a drive so he can hear the noise and say you want this sorted once and for all - Consider the possibility that Edgeware may not be the best dealer for ISF issues; Woodford and Twickenham generally get good owner feedback on here Hope that helps and you get it sorted
  6. The Hayward & Scott exhaust seems to vary in tone each time I drive it (like on my previous ISF), if anything the one on my current car is much better in terms of tone and noise (I like the burble not the thumping - you can get either). I am not aware of any drone above 70. For the wheel alignment, Lexus ordered a rubber shim or bush that was apparently worn preventing them from doing the alignment correctly (I don't have details of the exact part). Hope that helps.
  7. Just a quick update on my car for those that may be interested. I purchased my 2012 black ISF from Lexus Nottingham in March this year, it was on 45K mileage, but it looked as if the 'lads' in the dealers might have been taking it out for the odd spin as the rear wheels and arches were caked in mud, that aside, it had everything I wanted over my previous 2009 ISF - slippy diff, later instrument binnacle, revised suspension etc. and was clean inside, with little wear, and had the added benefit of a H&S cat back already fitted. After getting the car I noticed an irritating rattle/squeak coming from around the binnacle, and also when I dropped the car off to Lexus Twickenham for a check-up was disappointed that the exhaust was blowing and they needed to order a new part to do the wheel alignment, but after a bit of discussion this was all done under warranty and they also fixed the rattle inside, so all good! I had the diff oil changed and they topped up the transmission as well. I ordered a Tom's air filter element and kept the original intake housing (I had a Takada on my last ISF, but with the Tom's element am happy to keep the later intake housing for this car). I got the awful budget Pirelli's on the car replaced by Michelin Pilot S tyres all round and had the USRS fitted this week. I also fitted a new steering wheel with a carbon fibre top order off eBay (far more tactile than the stock one which I think is horribly budget and feels like a cheese grater with all the rough holes in the leather). I also replaced the boot spoiler with a carbon fiber one off eBay (subtle but goes well with the black colour). In addition, I got some 'paintshield' added to the front of the car to avoid stop chips etc. I'm not planning on making further mods to the vehicle except possibly for a rear diffuser (be very careful about inferior carbon fibre ones on eBay, they are ******* and don't fit on the car) and am very happy with what I have got for the next few years, I got a good deal with Lexus for an extended warranty for three years and am pleased to have the later model of which I think there are only 50 on UK roads. I will try and upload a pic if I can, but just wanted to give you an update.
  8. Just to say I had my USRS fitted by SRD yesterday - great shop and very professional, so can recommend these guys. I'm not sure I'd describe the different in normal driving as 'night and day' with the USRS fitted, but the steering certainly feels more precise and stable and it is just great to know I have had this key mod done.
  9. Cheers Guys - I know WIM from MX5 days, will also look up SRD
  10. Hi Sorry, I know there is a thread on this somewhere but I couldn't find it.... My question is that now Hayward & Scott have the new X pipe exhaust on their website, was is the general consensus on these? I have the original H&S cat back system fitted to my ISF and am interested in seeing if there are any benefits to upgrading to the new full X-pipe system: http://www.haywardandscott.com/lexus-isf/lexus-isf-with-x-pipe.html Any thoughts on this? Thx James
  11. I actually ordered one of these earlier and have been waiting to install it. My local Lexus dealer seems sniffy about fitting non-original parts, can anyone recommend a garage to fit these in London/ SE (Surrey, Berkshire)? Thx
  12. Looks great - annoying when these niggles happen, but sounds as though you have enough intel to know what to do so it can be rectified
  13. Yes, will be great if we can get a model set here so owners that want this can get it done with confidence. Thx again to Peter for being prepared to lead the way on this.
  14. I have to say I am always impressed by the expertise and resources available across the pond for the ISF. It also makes me a bit nervous about who to entrust any upgrade work on to our cars here in the UK. See this article posted by RR racing in the US on upgrades for exhaust manifolds to the cars and how difficult the job is: https://frontstreet.media/2016/04/11/this-lexus-is-f-gets-a-performance-boost-from-ppe-engineering-gear-one-performance-and-rr-racing/
  15. Wow! Way beyond my limited 'maintenance level' DIY mechanics, respect etc. Please keep us posted on progress, TBH for this kind of thing I'd get a specialist to do this. Look forward also to hearing about the exhaust. James
  16. Peter - the carbon looks great. What gauges will you be adding and: - was it hard to delete the vent holes - what kind of senders/wiring lay-out will you be using for the gauges Always like this kind of stuff!
  17. Sounds good - if you're working with H&S on this it would be nice to know they are putting some skin in the game giving you some free product to test it out and then promote it given the publicity you've been giving them on the US forums and here. They could potentially get a lot of business from the resulting product... I hope that works out if so, because it would be very helpful to a lot of us on here and overseas...
  18. Sounds great. I'm not sure whether getting some custom exhaust manifolds made-up and installed by H&S may not be a cheaper and easier way to go. I don't mind the HP improvement, but would like some confidence in the likely noise increase (I've heard headers can increase this a lot)...
  19. By way of an aside, on my new ISF the H&S exhaust is a bit more subdued that on my old one. I guess a hand-built exhaust will vary from car to car, but was wondering if having the standard airbox has an impact on the exhaust note (my old one had the Takeda system)? The noise is less boomy and loud than on my other car, so seems to have the right mixture of V8 burble without the thumping and boom...
  20. Hi Peter - absolutely! You are an enthusiast who loves modifying his car. What has really p*ssed me off about this thread is that non-ISF owners have started trolling the rest of us on what is a 'domestic' discussion. I think there's something inherently sad about people making such comments in others model/marque forums. Let's not get brow-beaten by these morons! I know in the UK we have an open Lexus forum and I welcome that, I just don't stick my nose into other people's threads not relevant to me and wish others would do the same. That being said, have you had any more thoughts on getting PPE headers? Cheers
  21. Probably coming across as bit of an a*se (not my usual style/intention) but I suspect not everyone who posts on this forum owns/has owned an ISF. No prob with that, but kindly respect the views of those that do when they are expressing an opinion as owners on this and other posts in a forum dedicated to this model...
