  1. So a quick update on my original post above, I ordered and have had fitted a new H&S cat back X-pipe exhaust and the difference is night and day over the old one, just wish I had done this before. The exhaust the car came with was also H&S but was just 'wrong' - it was probably an early one and may have been a dud, or got second hand a bit bashed about and fitted to the car, but certainly it had been installed badly and was blowing from the joints where the different parts were connected. Like I say the other one was just crap, so glad it has restored by confidence in H&S exhausts. Anyway, now with a properly connected and sealed exhaust, the wonderful melodic feel base sound the car omits is fantastic, so glad I had this done! 😀
  2. That’s good to know, the idea of a clean new exhaust is very tempting. Is the sound louder/different to a cat back does anyone know? thanks
  3. Hi Guys I need to replace my old exhaust as it is a bit knackered on the ISF. Looking at Hayward & Scott X pipe options they do a catback and decat option, for 'roughly' the same money. Question: are there any advantages to decat, does it add to the insurance cost, or need technical work on the plug-in sensors, better to stick to decat? Any thoughts/experiences of this appreciated. Thanks
  4. Thanks - I have used it on previous cars and had it applied by a professional twice. Personally I don't get the hate for Waxoly, nor do I understand people who repaint it each year - properly applied it stays in place repelling water for years. The ISF generally has an excellent rep for not rusting, but the underneath parts will rust on any car and are probably designed to do so as part of the car's overall 'consumer durable' expected lifespan.
  5. Hi Guys I'm looking at how to do some preventive maintenance on my 2012 ISF and was considering getting the underneath panels and box sections waxolyed. Being a 2012 car there is a lot of surface rust on a lot of the sections, but only what you'd expect for a car of this age. Has anyone else done this on an ISF and got any thoughts on this? Thanks
  6. This is presumably easy to treat, provided it is caught in time, but worrying all the same as the ISF is renowned for its rust-free bodywork. Are the gutters easy to remove to check this, do they just pop-out? Has anyone else seen this? Thanks
  7. I have owned two ISF's over 9 years, so will of course big that up compared to the other two. For me the ISF is that classic skunk works car seen from the 60s, 70s and 80s where a big standard salon is re-engineered to be a muscle/performance car mid-production. It's those production and engineering compromises that really appeal to me about the car and make it a classic, whereas the RCF and GSF were designed the way they were from the ground-up as a new model. It may be spitting hairs, but they are ones I would split. Also, I think the ISF is more of a Q car, which again strongly appeals to me....
  8. Was thinking of these in matt or silk black https://www.ozracing.com/alloy-wheels/oz-racing/i-tech/hypergt-hlt
  9. Thanks - I will take a look. Not sure on stock set-up of 19s & 20s, or 20s all round. Any negatives with all 20s?
  10. Thanks - I actually already saw this, couldn’t see necessary info for Oz wheels when looking at stockists, thus my original question. cheers
  11. I’ve had two ISFs over the last nine years, a 2009 then a 2012 for the last five years 👍🏾
  12. I was looking for some Oz Racing alloys in the UK for the ISF, but couldn’t find any as a straight swap. Has anyone here got any experience of them and what sizes/specs on wheels needed? Thanks
  13. That's very kind, thanks, but I'll look for a garage for now. Appreciate the offer 🙂
  14. Thanks Guys - I appreciate the counsel 🙂 Will look into this
  15. Thanks - I think it's that last link in the chain I'm struggling with (who does the fitting), I used to go to ATS, but their service the last few visits has been awful, other local spanner monkey shops don't inspire confidence. I know the ISF isn't a Ferrari, but I want someone I know is competent to do any work on my car, preferably someone who knows Lexi well....
  16. Hi All It's been a while since I posted, so hope all are keeping well :) I need (and want) to get my disks and pads replaced on my ISF (now at 70k miles and still in great shape), I know there is the dealer option, but I'm keen to see what else is out there, and I am not a 'do it on your driveway at the weekend' mechanic, especially for an ISF. Any thoughts/comments would be welcome. I am in the SW London area. Regards Grey One
  17. Does that include fitting? Apparently it's a b*tch of the job, certainly for your average owner....
  18. I really don't want to show any discourtesy, but honestly, you'd have to be bonkers to consider a rebuild of this wreck/write-off except in purely theoretical terms. You wouldn't be able to resell it, insurance would be nuts expensive, safety of the shell/structure questionable, not taking into account the cost of a rebuild and getting engineering sign-off for it being roadworthy. Why??? Sorry mate, my candid tuppence worth.
  19. Not sure how simple this is to fix, but the windscreen washer jet on the passenger side on my ISF has stopped working. Hoping it was just a blocked hole in the jet I looked at it today but it appears more complex than I thought. Each washer jet unit is embedded in the bonnet, so really not accessible unless you take take the unit out. Does anyone know if each washer jet has a built in pump, or is there a pump for both units? Are they simple to replace/fix? thanks for any help.
  20. I read the article and of course it is a late 'face lift' (interior at least) model with all the mods, so of course it is more expensive that earlier models. Previous articles on PH have generally been quite ISF positive. Agreed about the general dip in the quality and type of posts (and posters) now on PH, it's more like a UKIP Mumsnet than a motoring forum. One gauge of this is the number of 'relationship gone bad' posts now appearing in The Lounge, I don't recall that kind of crap a few years ago. Are there any better forums people are migrating too?
  21. @Stuno1 good to hear from you, how is the Ever going? I saw your old ISF being discussed on hear recently as it was for sale again...
  22. Cheers Guys, that's what my friend (ahem) feared... insurance time then. :)
