  1. There is a pre- cat in the exhaust manifold so if you want to free up some extra bhp you should change that... just remember Lexus has done a good job at the manifold already and you might loose bhp by changing the manifold. Although the flow will be better if you change the cat to a 200 cells sport cat.... (ultimately leading to 3 to 5 bhp gain over the standard exhaust) It will be louder but not to excessive... but if you do it for BHP do not do it the gain is minimal. BHP is gained by forced induction... either go supercharger or turbo...
  2. i don't know what the seal costs at the dealer but if it costs you more then 50 quid you could get a second hand one of ebay for that money ( I mean the whole sunroof incl the lining)
  3. pedals you can get from ebay from china brand spanking new ;) ....click here for the advert
  4. Very nice but honestly this screams for more chrome detailing in the interior, I would try to source the sport pedals + footrest and some chrome rings for the dashboard, also the steering wheel logo in your car screams out for the chrome lexus logo (you can use the one on the airintake of the is200 and glue it inplace)
  5. the rimms will be fine in the winter it is the tires you should worry about: get yourself some decent winter tires around them and you'll be fine. but if the snow is thick enough you'll still have problems driving of and you still can get stuck as this is what is the biggest problem with RWD.
  6. It depends on the multimeter you have... some have it on there some don't. But if yours doesn't have it then you are right you can't just measure it.... but however you toss or turn it, the Voltage will be lower before the cold start then when it the engine has run for a day. if that is the case it is time for a new battery ;)
  7. check the manual on this page it has a section that describes the alarm also make sure you use internet explorer to view the page otherwise it will not work.
  8. when a battery is bad the amps will be way lower ;)
  9. when the alarm goes of like that you should check the beep sequence as it tells you why it is going of...
  10. because it is an easy check.... get a multimeter out and check the voltage and amp's from the battery in the morning and after a drive.... the voltage should be the same or about 0.2 volt higher the amp's should be around what the battery say regardless of the time of day so to check the battery it will not cost you anything ( most people have a multimeter and if not they cost from 5 pound upwards halfords do a good cheap one ;) )
  11. It has been said already.... This is your car battery change it and the problem will be over.
  12. I see you didn't understood my words: the on/off function of the tomtom and sony are both the same. That means you can use the same manual for hooking up the wires to get it to work. The chargers of both units use a 12v -/+ cigarette lighter connection meaning the wiring will be the same. The screen housing has it's own wires that you have to install to get it to pop up and down on turning the key ( will not change regardless whatever Satnav brand you use) all you need to find out is how to take your TOMTOM apart. I just gave you more insight in the options if you decide to put in something else in the screen and WIN CE will only give you TOMTOM navigator that doesn't get any updates anymore unless you buy them online ( meaning you'll need to make a slot for insertion of the SD-card it comes on, unless you have a 3g internet connection, wireless could work if you can connect to your home router but the satnav TOMTOM WIN CE units do not have wireless connectivity) PS I know this stuff so well as I actually had TOMTOM navigator and they stopped the product as their satnav units make more revenue
  13. don't get what the fuss is about... check the write up off the sony aftermarket satnav, the on/off button on both units is the same ;) so you can't go wrong. no need to get yourself a technician for that. And if you are thinking of using a rear view camera and mount the screen in that think a bit longer and go in car pc with touchscreen ( think andriod tablet 7 inch with GPS built in/ Bluetooth version 2/ headphone line out cable/ video input/ elm 327 bleutooth dongle/ and rear view camera: hardware like this usually also comes 3g enabled so you can even have internet in the car) ;) this will enable you to do everything you are able to do with a pc at home the cost of all this will set you back about 350 to 500 if you have to buy everything and to build it in you don't need to have a lot of knowledge, you can use the same manual to get it hooked up so that it starts/shutdown and pops up/down at the turn of the key ;) torque is obd2 interface software and works well on my old Google G1/Dream with andriod froyo build (updated now with gingerbread still works fine!)
  14. Sounds ace now get it through MOT and enjoy the car ;)
  15. clean the air intake and throttle body there is a how to do in the manual or DIY section ;)
  16. can be used but if used wrong you brake stuff or water gets in to places it shouldn't be... Best to do the gentle approach, if you don't have the time or it is really dirty .... use the high pressure gun on a cold started running engine stay away from the electrical stuff especially ecu & fuse boxes.. also remove the air intake and engine covers and wash these separately and away from the car... valve cover needs to be washed with a brush and washed down by hand, be careful and use an ample amount of water to flush the dirt away as the coilpacks do not like water nor do the sparkplugs. also check if all the rubbers around the sparkplug holes are in place before you start, if not skip this bit until you've sourced replacements.
  17. the normal stuff ( alternator/ anything electric etc etc etc) I cleaned my engine bay with engine gunk, brushed the nasty spots then washed that down with a hose it is still clean today ( ps remove the bottom cover so the dirt actually leaves the bay)
  18. the last one you've found (autotrader) is comparable to the other with the added bonus of not spending money on wheels + it is from a car dealer = exchange focus + you can get waranty! I'd be on the phone if I was you ;)
  19. First one will be the one you want! The reason being the other one will set you back way more if you get it sorted + it does have the satnav you wanted. Changing the wheels is cheaper then adding a screen afterwards ;) if you order them at the dealer they will set you back 380 for a set of 4 brand new OEM wheels (yes those are the 17 inch diamond cut wheels) and if you want a spare OEM just buy one of a scrappy ;) they'll ask around 30 to 70 depending on the state of the tyre and wheel.
  20. We only live in a democracy if we can vote out those who make the rules.... The people in the EU who make these rules have not been voted for and cannot be removed. You can change the UK government but not the mandarins in the EU. EU Member states are allowed to divert from EU ruling, if it causes economic despair, and after a referendum is taken and 2/3 of the voters have given their vote against that rule! (why do you think we still have the pound sterling as our currency?)
  21. OEM satnav is lush but you can retrofit any 5 to 7 inch aftermarket satnav into the popup screen if you can source the parts ;) (there is a link for that in the downloads) I wouldn't go for a double din satnav unit as the screen will be sitting to low.... I'd use one that is a multi media (ipod/mp3/video) as you can't really look at the screen while driving ;) Silver is really nice but so is Kessington Green, Blue, Anthracite or the vibrant Yellow. The creamy leather interior is very prone to stains and dirt so I would go for black leather... First experience? Very nice car, electric everything, heated seats, remote unlocking for the boot etc etc etc nice shape that is still up to date... What model to buy? go for the IS200 SPORT... most options (metal pedals & footrest/LSD/ lowered suspension/17 inch diamond cut wheels/leather/ heated electric front seats) usually with the aerokit and boot spoiler. Next up is the IS200 SE ( without aerokit/boot spoiler/metal pedals & footrest/LSD/Lowered suspension/ only driver seat electric) Next is the IS200 LE like 200 SE but without leather interior (budget version) and not heated manual front seats take your pick just remember that the is200 isn't easy to upgrade to higher luxury unless you have a donor car and swap the interior loom over completely together with the updates
  22. it is specific ... the connector for the old models is smaller but if your tapedeck is at the bottom you more then likely have the model with the larger connector
