  1. Hi Ozzie. I've just had a powerflow cat back fitted at Brittania on siddals road in derby. They are the only ones without travelling for miles. They offered great advice - I only wanted a subtle note to the exhaust and they got it spot on. If you want loud they do loud! They go through all the different options with you. It was done in half a day. 240 quid all in, cannot fault them. Speak to the manager (older guy with a moustache) he knows his stuff. I went for a 3 1/2" tip with a muffler which is similar in size to the original, quiet when cruising, throaty when you press the loud pedal Pic of my exhaust....
  2. Hmm I'd be very interested in a piano black finish!
  3. Hi guys Was looking at my car in a car parking space today and noticed the back sits quite high. I don't want to go down the lowering route, just wondering if anyone knows of a good aftermarket splitter or similar that is slightly lower than the one that is already on? There is one on eBay - it looks better but doesn't seem to sit any lower to me Heres how it looks now...
  4. I have mine painted red on my mica grey IS300. Not a great pic but you get the idea... I think yellow would suit yours as its a lighter colour and would give a nice contrast
  5. Mine does this. Nothing to worry about, don't forget you've got the gearbox and transmission tunnel going right down the middle this can generate a lot of heat, especially the gearbox. I notice it more with flip flops on :-)
  6. As title suggests I'm after some satin rear lights for my Is300. Cash waiting or PayPal gift....
  7. Thanks for the replies. I contacted her and the damage on her rangerover comes to £100. Had 3 quotes for mine and the cheapest is £612 not inc the light cluster and itll be a good job as I've used them for the missus's car before. Anyhow, she is happy to give me cash to pay for my repairs therefore not needing to get insurers involved. She's even going to pay for TWO new rear light clusters :-) Hmmm now which ones to get, the satin ones (04 on) or aftermarket with led, decisions
  8. So today I was parked in some services. I reversed out of a parking space put my brakes on whilst I engaged drive on my auto box then I felt I thud from behind. Turns out some woman in a range rover decided to reverse in to me I'm gutted. The woman was very apologetic and we swapped details. She said it was a company car and she was goin to get on to her insurers today. I didn't mention anything about contacting mine as I didn't believe it was my fault. What do I do now? I've never had an accident before. Do I wait for her insurers to contacte or do I call her so I can get in contact with them. I thought about taking it to a garage to get a quote and seeing if she wanted to pay me cash as I don't mind a long as it gets fixed. Typically the was only a tiny scratch on her car where as I've got dents and scratches on 3 different panels
  9. Yeah the alarm/immobiliser works but a couple of weeks back an X5 from down the road got pinched by taking the keys from the house, hence why I wanted it to be totally immobilised whether you have the keys or not
  10. Yeah you could be right. Isn't it a sad state of affairs when you automatically think like that. Well, the car is off to the in laws for tonight, taking no chances. I thought about taking out the fuses for the ecu, could you still use it then? Or how about the crank sensor?
  11. Hi guys. Need some advice please. Just had my neighbour come round to say that around lunch time today and old scruffy looking bloke was looking at my car. I park it on my drive facing forward. After he looked at the back. He came on to my drive looked at the wheels and front and then (this is what worries me!) he looked through the window into the car! Now I'm highly concerned! Why would someone do this? I'm considering 3 options.... 1) fit a wheel clamp every night 2) fit a camera to my windscreen which is also motion activated at night 3) fit CCTV to the corner of my house It's got me proper paranoid that this guy is doing a recce or something. I always keep my keys on my bedside table and never by the front door. What would you do?
  12. This is almost comical it's that bad! Although some people must fall for it as its still going around
  13. It really weird because depending on the light it sometimes projects as Black other times as grey. both driver and passenger shows more greyish in mine but the back seats looks black not sure if the factory rear tints makes it look so . Totally agree with you. In direct sunlight I can swear they are a light black/dark grey. The rears do look a lot darker as they are in better nick. Will put up some pics once it's done
  14. Top bloke many thanks, I shall be buying the black restorer then :-)
  15. Is anyone able to confirm what leather colours the IS had? As daft as it sounds I'm not sure whether mine is black or dark grey??? I'm going to buy some leather restorer as they are starting to look worn but I'm unsure whether they have lightened from black slightly due to weather/sunlight etc or whether they were a dark grey in the first place?????
  16. Yeah I think I defo have the same knocking noise as you guys. Was gonna take it to the garage but don't think I will now. My missus's punto had a similar knocking once, can't remember exactly what it was but something like a cv joint or bearing got replaced, but that only used to knock when going round a corner - this is worse over rough road or a speed bump.
  17. I too have this clunking noise. Not so much a big thud, but slightly more than a rattle. Mine seems to come from the front drivers side - can you guys confirm this is the same place?
  18. This is brilliant! Absolutely pmsl when he hit is head on the bonnet!! He reminds me of an older Frank Spencer!!
  19. Dark grey 03 but just put on a private plate. Got some pics on my profile
