  1. Could be the water is creeping from elsewhere, try to look at the front where the water pump is look for water stains where it may be running down. Could just be a leaking water pump.........
  2. Possible cylinder head gasket failure......any sludge etc appearing on the dipstick?
  3. If it did work it would never see the light of day....can you imagine the oil companies and OPEC cheering this one. They would 'disapear' the inventor..... :shutit:
  4. As already stated open a dispute, Ebay may threaten to ban him and if he is a regular seller, the loss of income may make him change his mind...
  5. If it was me I would change it, changing oil and filter should be no problem for a local garage. I would watch that they actually use your oil though!
  6. Possible causes for high idle speed listed in w/manual. Water temp. sensor circuit Intake air temp. sensor circuit Throttle position sensor circuit Neutral start switch circuit ECU power source circuit ISC valve circuit..is this what you cleaned?[air control ] Dash pot. [stops the throttle closing sharply] PS idle up Engine and ECT ECU This should keep you busy for a bit! :winky:
  7. '91' s have non electronic odometer, if yours is like that it should fit...?
  8. Best wishes!! Shame you can't become a Lexus dealer yourself! Think you would get plenty of custom......
  9. I aggree with previous post......UCA53 ........ 'Dark Blue poly' This also for 1994 model...
  10. The code you have is correct for that sensor. It has a connector on top with removable plug, on picture it looks like two internal contacts. Below this is the little bracket that holds it on, one bolt. Looks like you remove bolt and pull it up. Resistance accross the contacts approx 620 ohm There is another test where you put a meter accross the contacts of the sensor and place a magnet quickly past the sensor end, a very small intermittent voltage should be generated. There are other tests involving the engine and ECT ECU, complicated!
  11. It's below the front exhaust pipe LH side near to where the pipe fits to the engine. W/shop manual says remove the front LH ex.pipe and LH side cat. for access. One bolt holds the sensor along with its 'O' ring and electrical connection. Please post your update!
  12. Wild guess, could be the damp, tracking the HT all over the shop. After it has stood maybe the warmth of the engine dries it. Try starting in the dark and look under the bonnet [in darkness] for visible sparks anywhere... If any, its as above....
  13. According to the manual you will need gaskets for the 'intake chamber' and the 'intake manifold' 'Intake chamber' is the top aluminium bit with the long stripes in it! Two gaskets for the injector union. [cold start injector] Four gaskets for the 'intake chamber' Possibly four double gaskets under the injectors. This the best I can see from the book. Quite a big job, hope this is some use. cheers
  14. Yes it's engine oil level...oil pressure is the 'oil can' in the rev counter...
  15. Some are being broken on Ebay...
  16. Check out USA LOC, there is a fix for sticking retraction been posted, not sure of the LS400 model year
  17. Stealth tax fellas'..shame the whole area cannot be boycotted, any business should move away as soon as they can. Then let Ken pay for the loss of rates etc.......
  18. Wild guesses....the piston in the master cylinder is not returning far enough, maybe pedal needs adjusting. This may cause the brake servo to be slightly on, slowly applying the brakes. Cannot guess at the ABS involvement in this!
