  1. Methinks the brother is cheaper! There is also Chris Vince,[uK] often on here, gets high recommendations, for this job.....
  2. As far back as I can remember [and that's pretty far], whenever I bought comprehensive car insurance it always included : 'the policyholder may also drive other peoples vehicles[ with permission] with third party only cover' Now it appears, this is not automatic on 'fully comp' and you may find that helpful drive home for your friend [who's had a few], in his car means you have no insurance. Likewise your helpful delivery of your mates car for its' MOT ... an easy trap to fall into, as of course no-one tells you this cover has been dropped when you renew... Worth checking......
  3. There are relays behind the r/hand headlight [ as you face the windscreen] including a seperate one for the headlight cleaner The wiper ecu is behind the instrument panel, this is also connected to the washer...
  4. I did mine with Caps. from Maplin and it's been fine. The other cap. is C142, I would check them again, this is a fix that normally works OK.
  5. Try the USA LOC, if no joy, I got mine from USA but they are no longer listed on the website at the moment..... They are Poly but have been good.....
  6. Did you change the right 3? Does it do it all the time, or just when really cold?
  7. My book shows code 11 as room temperature circuit and solar sensor circuit as code 21. I can't see a code 23 If there is not enough refrigerant the compressor will not run. Does your run?.......may not run if it's freezing outside!
  8. Few LS's being broken on ebay, might be worth a try....or your local breaker...
  9. Never heard of this being needed, are you sure it's not just gaskets needed? More info and a second opinion suggested before you start........
  10. Thanks Steve, I cannot tell, ........ the battery is missing and I never got the remote with my'94. Size looks right ,but I don't want to risk a 3 volt Lithium in case it's wrong
  11. Threr is a fix for this for earlier models on the USA LOC. Don't know if this applies to later LS'S
  12. I changed both sides, bushes and pins along with grease were in the kit. Try a search for bushings, we call them bushes, USA say bushings. I'll try to find where I got them from and post it
  13. If it's the lowest one on the hub it's rear axle carrier. I had to get poly bushes from the US. Don't know if Lexus have decided to supply these. There is a tutorial on lexls website for this job cheers
  14. Which one?...do you mean the rear axle carrier, [big lump with the hub in it] bush at the bottom?
  15. This one sounds the business, the one I fitted had a seperate pin correction board to fit as well, making it more fiddly.Plus it was more costly Having said that, when the job was finished it was spot on.
  16. Just my twopennorth, but have you tried some injector cleaner? If any are not perfect and do not spray a nice cone of fuel, i.e are they leaking, or over fueling, this will waste fuel.
  17. You need to contact Chris Vince, a regular on here. You can see them on Ebay sometimes @ about £80 under Lexus LS, if you want to DIY. Fiddly job!
  18. I looked this up in the w/s manual and this is a fair old job . It's shown as removal of shock absorber, as the spring comes off with it. Unless someone knows a better way you have to remove the drive shaft, matchmarking it with paint [not punch marks] for correct refiitting. Spring compressor/s and hexagonal socket for inner coupling on drive shaft etc. needed. Rear seat cushion out, parcel tray, roof side garnish out [bit with rear courtesy light in], right and left scuff plates off, brake caliper off. Not a job for a cold day outside!.....can you put it off until summer!!
