  1. Aha....I see a CX fan, I had three, [not at the same time!] brilliant car, different than anything on the road at the time.......
  2. Check this problem on USA LOC, I'm sure this has been covered on there
  3. Figure this out.. Insured with Saga, they quoted as usual but I thought I would just phone around a couple for comparison. Best quote .......The RAC.....£100 cheaper, protected no claims etc as before, who is the insurer I ask ....SAGA! Ring Saga ask whats going on, they won't match the RAC so I changed to RAC who use Saga.
  4. Have'nt a clue on Altezzas but on LS400 there is a little mesh filter at the rack end. Don't know if you have one but it causes problems on the LS if it gets blocked.....
  5. Only other thing I've heard is blocked sliding roof drain channels, might be worth blowing an air line down 'em
  6. When fitting discs make sure hub is perfectly clean, so the disc runs true......'run out', the amount of 'untruth' when disc spins must be on or below spec. allowed. Otherwise it's not running true from the start, aggravating the problem.
  7. Methinks it's lashing against the screen 'cos you are driving too fast..........
  8. Not heard of this before, is the lid pressing down securely on the seal?
  9. Sometimes this is just the failure of an O ring. Trawl the LOC for more info and the USA LOC as well. As previous reply, don't let it leak into your alternator! Ps welcome!
  10. Re the hairline crack, try an emergency repair with a product called ..QUICKSTEEL.....
  11. Search for Chris Vince on LOC, if the part is not relisted. It's a fiddly job you need to be handy with a good [temp control] small soldering iron!
  12. There is info on a rebuild on www.lexls.com/tutorials......if you need it..........
  13. On my '94 they park down on to two supports. Think there are two motors for the wipers, a seperate motor parks them?
  14. Think you will have to trawl the LOC USA forums for more info......if it was my car I would postpone the air suspension bit to the last, its' a mass of complication and the normal [not air] setup is acceptable. Suggest get it right first, may need other items expensive replaced before you throw money at the air suspension .
  15. On series two its at the rear of the engine LHS as you face the fan......don't know about series 4,but might be worth a look ............
  16. Suggest a closer looking at by yourself or friendly mechanic to find exactly what you do want. Some bushes are available for the suspension although I have not seen them all listed anywhere. Balljoints also need a looking at............might not be a disaster price wise......you need to know exactly what is needed...
  17. I replaced my rear axle carrier bushes with some poly ones from the USA. [they don't squeak and work OK] But I would buy a kit for the lot.......and chance any squeaks, based on the price of replacement Lexus parts. The value of older models is falling and this would be a welcome saving. The price of original parts are getting close to more than the car is worth.
  18. Check out posts on here and LOC USA for weird faults caused by a break in the wiring in the boot hinge, might be that......
  19. Hi! and welcome........
  20. What a rip off this lot is ...... if they can make a computer motherboard for fifty quid, what can possibly be in the key to justify these prices.........? Robbing b :tsktsk:
  21. Might be worth cleaning all plugs and leads, distributor caps etc........if it does it again try spraying WD40 over leads and distributors etc...... Sounds like tracking of HT current at a guess.....
