  1. The best dynoed result was 287hp/370Nm @ .7bar. And I did NOT melt a piston, it was a rod that broke. Yes, I have a 7th (not 5th ) injector, but now along with the rebuild, I'm also upgrading the main-injectors. And also yes, I have a twin-turbo setup. At the moment I have 0hp @ 0rpm, as my engine is torn into bits and bobs. But when I get it up and running with the uprated internals and lowered C/R, I'm going for the 350-400 region. That's about as much as those KKK 03 turbo's are good for. But the manifold is fabricated in such a way, that +1 size bigger turbo's are a "bolt-on job". Then I'll be looking for the 500hp barrier... This ride will fly mate.... sounds really awsome! B) But: After crushing the engine, you're looking forward to crush the transmission eh?? If you want to prevent any other damages, then take the tip i give, to not hit or overpass the 400BHP barrier. Let the IS200 be somewhere in the 350BHP range and you will have enough fun, B) not to say it will be anyway undrivable with that short gear ratio. It's not a masterstroke just to get much power out of an engine... .....the all-in-all-concept must work well. :winky:
  2. Thanks mates. Further more informations will be shown here. Just have to wait some time..... I will make the exhaust system a bit more silent. It's too loud for being road legal here. :tsktsk:
  3. I put my Lexus out of the garage last weekend after a long long winter. Well, I did a little facelifting on my car and after a serious washing- and polishing session, I went out for a shooting session. :) Summer can come, my car is ready!
  4. It's good stuff!! :winky: Can you tune it also by yourself? On road or something?
  5. Oh wow! B) This looks very good mate. Can't wait to see the power output. Why didn't you fit the FCON SZ as on TDIs package??
  6. --> LINK :winky: We already discussed about him. :)
  7. When getting very strong internals, keeping the compression ratio down, do a valve spring and valve upgrade, pumping good fuel and raising the rev limit to 10.000rpm, then you could do 500, 600, 700, 800HP if you want. Just meaning the engine. :winky: Axle, transmission, clutch would be the next problem. In the '70s F1 cars could do 900-1500BHP on turbocharged 1.5L engines. B)
  8. No the head gasket is good. It's made of metal which is fine. The weakest point of the whole engine are the conrods. They can break very easy. As far as I know Spock's rod broke and the piston stuck or something. Melted pistons can be cause by running too lean. Broken rod can be caused by giving too much boost, or too high rpm, so the force on the rod would be too huge and let it brake. I wouldn't go over 0.7bar on stock internals. I'm still running @ 0.6 to be safe. The car pulls pretty good and I feel great to know it's safe. :) EDIT: @DAZ In your case I would recommend a thicker head gasket after doing an injector upgrade. :winky: And you can boost, boost, boost......
  9. I wouldn't max out those 400BHP. Just for being safe mates. :winky: We don't know what the car can really handle with forged internals. DAZ you would need serious race gas, as you're running on 10:1 ratio. ;)
  10. No not yet. Can't begin with further tuning works, cause I'm waiting for some stuff.... B) But we competed the turbo mainfold with the stock one and it looked good. Hope this will to on the engine head. But I'm pretty sure it will.
  11. At the moment I have Greddy 52mm. But I noticed that this gauge pod is for 60mm, so I think to change to Blitz. Defi are quite nice, but I like the Blitz DC II gauge a tic more. The project is coming forward very slow because I'm waiting for 6 little friends made of forged steel. B) And more and more and more..... ;)
  12. 3rd place is OK.... :) A drag strip would be nice for the JAE :D
  13. Ah thanks for making the pics working. Didn't know what went wrong with them.
  14. We fitted a Walbro Toyota Supra Fuel Pump and this doesn't fit straight in. ;) "Only drill a hole and fit"??? That's all well to say than to do eh?!? :winky: You have to find a place in that small thing where you lay both line bend them and fit them to the outlet with 30-40mm long connector-fittings. There are no tubes in it where you can connect the new lines to the old, everything is plastic. And you have to fit the jet-pump to the return line to make it work again. Have you ever done this before?
  15. NO! :D YES! :D I wouldn't say it is a big job at all. as long as the person doing it knows what they are doing it should be fine. The only problem is having the correct fittings at the right time other wise you will be back and forth to get fittings. Erm... we knew the job, but it was anyway a h*ll-job, everything was stinking of fuel, we had teflon-tubes which were difficult to cut and hard to fit fittings on them, our fingers hurt,..... To pull the tubes under the car isn't the problem, the bigger job is in the tank to work on the intank-unit, connect the second line, bend tubes in a narrow space, fit the new fuel pump wich was too big and the filter on the wrong side, to braze the wires for the bus bar.... :shutit: At all it was snowing while we were laying under the car.
  16. @ad77 For the old gauge pod i used hot clue, which i will use again ont he new one. It fixes pretty quick and you can remove it easy. :) If you would use real Super Clue or something, you can waste the pod then. @GALLA It's from TRD and for 60mm gauges. :winky: And :tsktsk: :duh: expensive
  17. 1.) DAZ 2.) mine 3-? dunno My opinion. :) As for acceleration, I got a ride in Daz's and Daz got a ride in mine and we found they were pretty similar, but Daz's has water injection as far as I know, mine has 70mm exhaust system and return-fuel system. :winky: Mine was louder DAZ's was quite silent which would be better for streets in my country.... EDIT: Oops forgot Spock Hmm... maybe he could take the 1st-3rd place :)
  18. Part by part coming forward..... :) Something for the interior.
  19. Right Mouse Button and ---> SAVE AS... :winky: Then ---> WATCH! :)
  20. Mh... JO! :D Mh... JO! :D Mh... JO! :D Mh... JO! :D Mh... JO! :D Mh... JO! :D
  21. *GULP* Do you mean IS300Killer or KillerIS300?? Can't wait to see pics of the parts and the result. B)
  22. Hmmm difficult question..... both are top stuff. :winky: It's a question of what you like more?!? I don't have experience with the Apexi, but I heard both exhausts on the IS300 in a video and I think I liked the Apexi tone a bit more. Choose what you want, you can't fail. B)
