  1. ...and not to forget: Heat wrap raises exhaust gas temp. which raises exhaust gas speed, for better spool up. Who knows physics will know, that the hotter gases are, the thinner they are so the quicker they can flow. :winky: Same on exhaust system..... a too big diameter in exhaust system can reduce power instead of raise it. Exhaust gases can cool down because of the lower speed in a large diameter ex.sys. and cooled down gases reduce speed and can block the gas flow. ;)
  2. Ah I see.... OK! :winky: Pics, pics, pics when you have done the job mate! B)
  3. Do you want my 70mm exhaust system from my Lexus? It's ready from downpipe up to muffler. :winky: Just modify the fitting ends and ready to go. Stainless Steel of course.... made by me. B)
  4. YYOOOOOO SO GLAD TO HEAR THOSE GREAT NEWS BUD!!! :winky: Did you notice a difference in exhaust note since the lower CR with the new internals? Ordinary you also should have a bit more than 2.0L of displacement now. B) So happy that the car is running now! Let us know what's going on with the mapping session you start soon. Congrats, Mike :winky:
  5. Nearly there Mike. Everything is being put back into the car again. Then some more road testing. "Will be picking it up either tomorrow or Friday" :winky: (Now where have I heard that before?? ) My thumbs are up buddy!! :winky:

  9. FINALLY! So happy it's running!!! :D Maybe you can do some videos once and send them to me. I'm so excited to see how it feels now! B)
  10. No panic mate.... 2006 isn't over yet. You will fix it and everything will be OK in the end. :winky:
  11. Couldn't agree more!!! B) I know how it is, you must be over the moon! Congratulations!!! HAHA LOOOL Congrats to both of you! I'm so glad you 2 mates can start in 2007 with a new built up TurboLex!!! :winky:
  12. Not really!!! CONGRATS MATE!!! :winky: Tell us how it's going when everything is ready to race. :D
  13. Mate pls upgrade your injectors!! :o To add an extra injector can help but it isn't the best solution.... some cylinders can get more and some can get less fuel, so overheat can be effected in single cylinders and you wouldn't notice on your ex.temp.gauge. :o I think it would be OK for those 0.5-0.6bar, but when you plan to reach 1.2bar, do us a favour and go for bigger injectors to replace the extra one. :winky:
  14. All my thumbs are up for that project!! :winky:
  15. Amazing buddy!!! B) Congrats to your nice Ride mate!! :winky:
  16. Feel so sorry for you M8!! There are many kinds of deaths for our cars.... If you need something like engine or transmission.... I still have them, if you need. Mike
  17. This thread is really exciting.... Adie, didn't know you're a so good entertainer. :D
  18. Traction in any car with 1000+HP is an issue but I am upgrading my diff to a ford 9-inch with a 4-link coil overs set up and will be running either 315 or 325 series rubber on the back so traction will be pretty good. That's an idea. A good launch should be possible then. B) But take care on wet ground, the IS body is pretty light at the rear axle, at all the weight ratio (front/rear) will take some differenced caused by the heavy engine in the front. A 325 rubber will show its effect during hard braking and on wet streets. :shutit: But I guess.... a car this like won't see wet streets, just drag strips. :D
  19. WOW! B) That looks amazing! Top Job! But I'm wondering how the traction on the IS will do with +1000HP Maybe a serious launch control system will help. B)
  20. SO AWSOME, BUDDY!!! Can't wait to see it running. I think I will come over to do a testdrive with you. B) So good feeling to see the stuff being used on your Lexus! :winky:
