  1. Oh WOW! 220RWHP and 220 foot-pound.... this is NOT BAD!! H*ll those are about 240-250BHP right?? :o Congrats Bud!!! :winky: You're looking out for more HP??
  2. All that work just for playing computer games in the IS200. Looks good AD! This kind of job is still waiting for me....
  3. @Dave THX :winky: You will do the job well! B) Wanna bet?? :winky:
  4. Think he knows somebody or a secret way how to get it legal or something. But don't think it would be easy to get a "TÜV-APPROVED" for a turbo conversion in Germany or Austria. :shutit: Far more complicated and more difficult in Austria.... That's why you are my IS200T-stand-in this year. :P
  5. ......from Germany somebody. :) But he is still working on his project and I guess he is already checking out, that the IS isn't very funny to turbocharge. I wish I could get there to meet you and the others, but June is a bad time for Austrians.
  6. Take care Dave, maybe there is an IS300 Turbo..... :o Have Fun, we will meet at JAE!! :winky:
  7. Amazing!! Looks very good! This downpipe looks like a downpipe should look like. :D :winky:
  8. We could meet somewhere and go with us over the sea. :winky:
  9. I'm going to come up this time again with some friends from the EURO-LOC. This year Richard comes too (my friend/workmate who has done all the work with me on my Lexus). :) Can't wait to meet you again friends!!
  10. This was awsome BAZZA!!! :winky: The Placebo song is amazing.... very good for the race track video!! :D Can't believe this was recorded with a camcorder. Looks like a cell phone recording. :shutit:
  11. Nice gauge pod.... huge thing is that. B) What was the price for those mintex discs?? Are the front discs really one layer discs as on the pic? Or is the pic wrong and they are 2 layer vented?!?
  12. This is very nice mate. The color is very good looking in comparison to the other Lexus interior lights! :winky:
  13. Good to know you all appreciate this.... Sent you PM....
  14. Can't say how happy I was, after those couple of seconds when trying to fit the manifold and then suddenly..... *tshing*..... It fitted It was so cool feeling after doing a drawing with pencil and paper, the caliper rule in my right hand, then drawing on AutoCAD with the measures I did at home on a sheet of paper, sent the .dwg file to a locksmith, got the cnc-cutted manifold, did a bloody job to modify that IS300 manifold for an IS200, polished all that stuff and it fits right now. Don't know what I would have done if it wouldn't fit yet. :shutit:
  15. Really? I got told the same what spock was talking.
  16. Well done mate. Let us know what breaks first so we can look out for it :D
  17. I'm sure with a 350BHP Lexus you would eat that Golf for breakfast. B) I have seen some 300-400BHP Golf III (VR6 Turbo engines). They had wheel spin until 3rd gear (FWD :duh: ) Meanwhile they finally got grip to the ground I would have done the 1/4 mile. Spock... 500BHP would be a very impressive BHP-Barrier, but you will have wheel spin until 3rd gear. You would be able to use full power just at 4th gear and the car would accelerate faster than in 2nd gear . The Lexus is very light in the rear, maybe Mat knows the problem on the Monster with over 600BHP. So the Lexus is a perfect driftcar, but not a DragCar.... it gives all the performance for drifting as like close to 50:50 weight ratio (front/rear), short gear ratio, light weight on the rear axle.... but it's maxed out for traction very soon in topics dragracing. :winky: The Supra is a DragCar B) long vehicle, heavy 1.8tons, traction at the rear wheels. :shutit: Due to its long engine room and the front axle very close to the top of the car, most part of the engine fits behind the front axle, the transmission sits between front and rear axle, this gives more weight on the rear wheels. B) Have you ever seen the video of the IS300 Turbo on the dragstrip I posted once? He crashed into the wall, after shifting in 3rd gear and loosing traction cause of his as*load of power. I'd say, the Lexus IS200 gives the best performance in the 300-400BHP area. More will probably be too much. But we could compensate this problem with a longer gear ratio. :P Well... I don't know which gear box would be useful and would fit. Fitting the V160 is :tsktsk: :shutit: work. But this would be the only way to make 500+ HP useful on the IS. ;)
  18. Didnt know the s2000 had the same box, your foutain of knowledge never ceases to amaze me :P im sure someone this year will brake the 400 and maybe the box too we'll have to wait to find out :) not quite true, look under AZ6 AISIN Doesn't the Lexus have a Getrag J-160 transmission?? Hmm... some time ago I have read that the S2000 gearbox is the same as in the IS200.
  19. People with the greatest knowledge about the IS200 M/T, say that the tranny can take ~400BHP. No one really knows the truth. Maybe it can take more HP, as the Honda S2000 also has this gear box and can be boosted up to :tsktsk: :o :duh: Not sure, but just for my feeling I wouldn't max out those 400BHP. :shutit:
  20. The best dynoed result was 287hp/370Nm @ .7bar. And I did NOT melt a piston, it was a rod that broke. Yes, I have a 7th (not 5th ) injector, but now along with the rebuild, I'm also upgrading the main-injectors. And also yes, I have a twin-turbo setup. At the moment I have 0hp @ 0rpm, as my engine is torn into bits and bobs. But when I get it up and running with the uprated internals and lowered C/R, I'm going for the 350-400 region. That's about as much as those KKK 03 turbo's are good for. But the manifold is fabricated in such a way, that +1 size bigger turbo's are a "bolt-on job". Then I'll be looking for the 500hp barrier... This ride will fly mate.... sounds really awsome! B) But: After crushing the engine, you're looking forward to crush the transmission eh?? If you want to prevent any other damages, then take the tip i give, to not hit or overpass the 400BHP barrier. Let the IS200 be somewhere in the 350BHP range and you will have enough fun, B) not to say it will be anyway undrivable with that short gear ratio. It's not a masterstroke just to get much power out of an engine... .....the all-in-all-concept must work well. :winky: thats a good tip mike if i can hit 350 to 370 i will be over the moon this topic may get exciting this year with everyone pushing to get past that 300 barrier :winky: At all.... what do you wanna do with 400+ horses on that closed ratio gears as in the IS200. A sensefull investment would be for another gearbox, as this for the Supra... but I don't wanna do that conversion. For the factory gearbox you would anyway have to lower boost in 1st-2nd gear. And at higher speed it will be a short fun to get only 140mph max speed. The car will get those 140mph in a few seconds, but then.... fun is over. So in my opinion any other HP over 350-400 is money-wasting. ;) I already have troubles with traction at launching in 1st gear. Also in 2nd gear I can do wheel spin on dry asphalt. :duh: and this is with ~250-260BHP What do you think will happen with 350-400?? :o Or even with 500.... ....senseless.... :shutit: ....and not to say about crushing the transmission. This is more expensive than a crushed engine.
  21. I also have them from Dave, and they are still looking good and still working. :winky: B)
