  1. Is the box really a Getrag? That would make sense, the worst part of the vehicle is a bit made in Germany! ← The worst part of the car is the clutch. ;) And I don't know where's this made.... I heard suggestions that the gear box isn't that bad. Gearboxes are robust and can take much more power than the stock torque is. That's why they are so expensive. The weakest link between the engine and the wheels is the clutch.

  3. Every tuner who knows his job will say to run the this gear which is closest to 1:1. And the 5th is 1:1. :) And if we check the calculation form of stock HP * added boost = new HP Then we have 155 * (1+0,70)=263,50BHP But I believe in 1/4 mile times and not only sheet of papers. :) Our 30 years old crappy dyno jet here said 225BHP and I ate a WRX STi for breakfast and sticked on a Carrera 4's a**. So I doubt dyno sheets sometimes.

  5. Getrag is a German company as far as I know. They still produce the V160 gearbox. But be prepared for $$$$$$$$$ The V160 is still used on BMW M5 or such. (not 100% sure which cars, but they use it) ;)
  6. And I suggest that you did it in the wrong gear again, as before in 4th. ;)

  8. Hey, car is basically stock, Stock turbos. That run was at low boost (9-10psi) and with 179rwkw. With more boost (Now I run 15psi, and 230rwkw) Im hoping to dip in the 12's :D I use a W58 Supra 5 Speed, the stock 6 speed wont handle the extra torque. ← I think the Supra gearbox is better, in cause with its longer gear ratio. Well don't think the IS gearbox wouldn't handle the power, but it would be too short, you would have to shift every 3 seconds
  9. WOW! The 1JZ block in the IS I'd love it to have this power plant under my hood. :winky: 13.2 is cool! B) Is it the stock 1JZ-GTE with 280BHP or are there already any mods?? Could you flange it onto the stock Altezza tranny?

  13. 100% is only reliable when the whole setup is perfect. Otherwise you would loose some power. DAZ's car setup is perfect and mine is close to his as we noticed at JAE when we both did a test drive in each car. ;) Don't know about the other Turbos, haven't done a ride in them.
  14. You will need at least 0.8bar to reach 280BHP..... so I wish good luck! :winky:

  16. Is this the open closed loop thing? Is this not being tested? ← Eh? The open/closed loop mode doesn't play a roll on the gear ratios or the rev limiter. Of course you can change the rev limiter in the ECU. ;)
  17. No! The weight doesn't have an effect on the gear ratio :duh: In the IS200 you will never hit the 100kph range in 2nd gear because the rev limiter kicks in at 90-95kmh. The gear ratios are the same I know. :) THE ALTEZZA CAN DO IT! Why?? It revs to almost 8000rpm so it hits over 100kmh in 2nd gear while the IS200's redline is set to 6400 or sth so it's limited at ~95kph. ;) Weight reduction only improves the 0-60 time but doesn't change the gear ratios. In the IS200 you would need to change the gear ratio or to raise the red line. :winky:
  18. :D ← :D Do you really think to get under 6 seconds with this gear setup?? I think you would get easily in the 5secs with a gear ratio where you can hit 62mph in 2nd gear, or can you do that with the Altezza? Could be true, the Altezza revs higher than the IS200 7000-8000rpm, so it could be possible to hit 100kmh (62mph) in 2nd gear.

  20. shouldn't be because at WOT the ECU should be in open-loop. ← Can you explain what open-loop mode and closed-loop mode means?? I often heard about it, but never found a good explanation.
  21. Misfiring can happen when you run too lean air/fuel mixture.
  22. I think DAZ's IS200T would have been the fastest up there.... as long as he runs 0.6bar. :winky: @DAZ Hope you can fix the problem u showed me at JAE, to be able for running 1.1bar
  23. Wondering that nobody of the IS-Turbo-guys hit the 7s area. I did some 0-60 runs on a street (in a slightly curve) and my G-Tech said 7.1secs. So a 6.xx time should be possible. ;)
  24. Seems everybody knows now how to install a turbo kit and what is to do :P My next mods I will keep top secret.... :D Good job anyway. :winky:
