Need it doing and for the sake of good order I thought I would get a couple of quotes. When I had my IS300 I used Toyotec a few times and couldnt complain at all about the service or prices. In essence the 70k service is Oil and Pollen Filter. Toyotec £135- all in. Lexus Croydon- £380- seriously!- when I queried what it covered he couldnt tell me apart from it covered the 70k service. when I told him it was oil and pollen filter he offered a £60 discount- I felt so touched I nearly took him up on his offer.... Not....

Dont think I would compare the Potenza to a cheap ditchfinder-there is no comparison...?

2001 model with no documented history from 70k and now on 130k. I would have said going rate really- just look at the colour of the drivers mat/carpet.....plus with the engine light on? (plus thinking chain driven cam)? Much better out there for not much more?

I did, had some rusty stone chips on the leading edge of my (IS300) bonnet. Took it in on the off chance and because they couldnt ascertain whether they were from the utside in, or the inside out, they replaced the bonnet as part of the warranty. Took a week mind, with no courtesy car....

Abandoned car you say? In a hospital car park? Where some people end up in long term care (or maybe pass away?) Would look at the above before assuming its been dumped as surely there are better places to leave a car?

No, it was an absolute shed- filthy inside and out- the carpets were stained, dash scratched, crisps and sweets everywhere. Seller was bragging about the history, every invoice, stamp in the book etc- what he didnt mention is that stopped when he bought it.. Was overdue a service by 8k and thought it was worth every penny of the 11.7k he wanted... Bought elsewhere...

I sold mine at 106k two weeks ago. Had I not had the RX now I would hve kept it as it had been absolutely faultless in all the time I had it. Mine had full history etc but the guy who bought it was more than pleased with it.... J

Wait until you decide to do the door trims.... I've had conflicting advice as to whether they pull off, or you have to remove the door panel and take the armrest apart from door card.... J

The bit around the gear selector is the easy bit! I thing the OP was referring to the slidable centre console between the front seats?

Okay, well aware of what a ball ache it is retro fitting on an IS - I did the Sony mod. What about the RX?? Is it possible?- has anyone done it? Jason

Trotted up to the other side of Luton from Surrey this morning to view an RX400 that was described a being in 'Immaculate Condition'- and 'won't find better'. Oh dear, car was absolutely filthy- and not just from the wet snowy roads of the last few days, but absolutely caked in mud. Interior was absolutely vile with liquid stained carpets and crisps and half eaten sweets littering the floor and seats. Dash was scratched to bits and covered in long hair. It's not like I had just turned up, I'd arranged the viewing on Sunday evening- I cant believe they couldnt even be bothered to make an effort in tidying it up. To top it all, it hadnt had its 80k service (on 85k now) with 4 tyres all under the 2mm marker. Car did have full history- up until the present owner bought it and didnt bother after that. I offered the seller £700 under asking price (of £11700) and we got to £11050 when the seller decided he needed to go indoors and think about it. Im so glad I didnt bother with it in the end, but its getting frustrating as I'm only after a Lexus RX and the spec/year are proving really difficult to find!

Its a 85k 2007 model. Anything specific I should look out for? Thanks. J

I think I have got one in the garage actually- I didnt realise that they are worth that much!
