  1. Mo, the original poster hasnt been on the site in 2 years, so I suggest he isnt going to respond.... By the sounds of it, are you sure you havent bought his car!!?? J
  2. If you can take a picture of the rear of the stereo I can marry it up to the lead on the Dice. J
  3. This is the one I have in the garage: http://www.ipodcarkitdirect.co.uk/Lexus_-_DICE__iPod_Car_Kit However, on the compatability page it doesn't mention the IS200/300.....
  4. I have a Dice one in the garage if interested?...
  5. I thought I'd ask before the ad gets pulled. 27k but its had its 60k service?- how does that work? J
  6. Its the sensor on the front nearside. Jack up and take the front wheel off, you'll see the box, its held on with standrd cross head screws. Remove the cover, disconnect the rod that attaches to the box, disconnect the connector to the box and remove. Take it inside and remove the 4 screws that hold the lid on- dont shake it about as there are 3 gold springs inside it- there 'should' be some corrosion on 1 or all of the springs. Remove the corrosion with fine sandpaper- gently- dont break, or stretch them! Check the inside where the spring sits and clean out with some contact cleaner. Reassemble (dont over do it when you put the lid of the box back on), and all should be working again... Did it on my IS300 a couple of times. J
  7. When I was looking for an RX through Lexus Guildford I was looking at 400's as they had a part ex's coming in. I was looking at a 90k RX400, and a 70k RX300- the sales guy said 'you don't want a high milage 400'- no reason for him to push the 300 as it was much cheaper and so far, been happy with it. My wife has one of the new Yaris hybrids- amazing economy from it, but not in the same league (obviously).. My advice would be to buy the lowest mileage RX you can afford, hybrid or not. As you've said, aftermarket warranty wont touch high milages- for a reason? Could be a potential money pit as components start to reach the end of their life and allthough there are lots of hybrid Prius on 200k plus, its a very different beast to the RX. There was a post recently with someone with an inverter failure and (surprisingly?) Lexus werent interested with an eye watering bill to match. You only need a problem like that and you've reached the price cut off between your cheap high miler and a low milage example.. J
  8. I thought the same, but last time I cleaned it, just used a matt finish wipe.. J
  9. Grom or Dice- I have used both- and left the Grom in and the Dice just sits in the garage waiting for my brother to stick it in his Toyota!
  10. LM2 (i think thats the name) is what I used when I replaced the slider pins on the RX a couple of weeks ago..
  11. Sorry mate, been out of the country with work- as much as I like to spend time on here its not the be all and end all of life... As you asked, I haven't been out to my garage since you PM'd as I was flying out of the country the next day. Suffice to say, they are for an IS300 as I gave my VIN and Reg number to Lexus Croydon and then they gave me the parts. I wont be able to give you the part number for them until tomorrow, but I'd suggest if you are in a hurry to get them, go to the dealer of purchase of ebay..
  12. I've got a set in the garage that I never used in my IS300 before I changed it for the RX... Feel free to PM if you want a set below dealer cost. J
  13. Dragged up topic alert! Had a spare hour this afternoon so wrapped my wood trim with brushed aluminium.... Literaly took and hour to take out, strip, wrap and reassemble...
  14. 'Ill ask her to speak to one of the bods in marketing, can you pm me an email address? If that was my wife, I dont think I wouldnt be spending so much time on here!!
  15. they are alot easier to replace than the fronts- there are numerous guides on here. I'd do them myself and have some beers on the money you have saved...
  16. Interesting solution, when you say a neater solution- I have an ipod cable in my glovebox with the ipod connected to it- all out of sight- not something sticking out of the cigarette lighter socket...
  17. Not that it matters, but since I bought the RX the weather ha been so **** I havent had the chance to detail properly and go up to Epsom Downs and take a nice photo of it for my profile picture. That said, I could change it to a stunning underwear model-but it wont mean I'm driving that either...
  18. it has one cable for the ipod, and hen an aux in, so lead from phone/whatever straight into it.. 'Gives you the ability to connect your iPod through the stereo, and has a 3.5mm Auxiliary input as standard, so and external audio device (CD and DVD players) a non Apple Mp3 players can be connected' where in surrey are you? My RX has nav and worked fine....
  19. I have one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Grom-Audio-iPhone-iPod-Car-Integration-Kit-1998-2012-Lexus-Toyota-Scion-/300884987122?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item460e248cf2#ht_2068wt_1203 The Grom is a pretty popular addition across most models. There is also the Dice unit: http://www.take-and-talk.co.uk/Lexus-iPod-iPhone-music-integration-kit-from-Dice-Electronics-p-17078.html I got one before I bought the Grom but it took ages to arrive so I bought the Grom unit which then turned up the day after the other was fitted. Ive tried both (which were exactly the same in terms of quality and usability, I just could be bothered to put the Dice back in. Its sitting in the Garage and yours for £50 plus a couple of quid for postage if you are interested? J
  20. Cheers for the link- was just the job. J
  21. I wonder if anyone can help? I have a pdf file I need amending- its a line drawing of a box that needs 2mm adding to the height. Happy to donate beer tokens to either yourself or charity of your choice? Cheers, J
