  1. PS not only must they reimburse the payment you made but they must also pay you the sum they agreed as PX
  2. I was driving a brick otherwise known as a Motorhome on the M1, M25 and M4 yesterday and today and whilst I did feel the wind try to force me across lanes a couple of times it didn't succeed. I travelled at between 50-60mph
  3. I recall that in the early 90's OH and I both had new GS300 and the service by ALL departents was second to none. Now unfortunatley they seem to b slipping. Took my LS400 into Lexus 2 years ago and the mechanic was quite snotty. I suspect he thought that as I drove a 98 LS I was a poor bet on getting another new Lexus. re the FREE 24 hour test drive. Contacted Exeter Lexus to request one on a Saturday through to Sunday "fine" said the salesman "but before you go you'll (me) have to insure it for the day and we'll need to do a credit check and bring your DL together with proof of address. I responded by asking "why do you need to do a credit check we haven't decided to buy yet" Salesman " so we can get the paperwork ready for you to sign" I was dumbfounded to say the least and after me saying something like "OK" putting my phone down I turned to my BH told her what had been said to which she 1st responded with a rather fruity remark and went on to say no-way. Of course I understand the point of bringing proof of address (if they'd bothered to check I'm on their database) and providing sight of your DL is of course a given. Paying to insure the vehicle fully comp for even one day would have been expensive (I know cos I checked) so that was a big no no. After a day of fuming and not to be outdone I then contacted Lexus Poole and the experience couldn't have been more different car booked collected Saturday returned Sunday. However there was one slight problem when I realized they hadn't checked my BH's licence which meant she couldn't drive it. I contacted them via email attaching a copy of her DL. Unfortunately no one confirmed she was now on the insurance so didn't get to drive the car which is a shame because any purchase would be made by her for her use. On returning the car I was told that after my Satuday email she had been put on their insurance great I said but how was I to know that. At this point I should mention that BH is an officer of the court and to drive uninsured is a very big no no What was to be a pleasant day was a bit of a shambles all round. Sad :msn-cry:
  4. 80 dB is ridiculous, it is the first action level under the Noise at Work regs, at which hearing protection must be provided. Noise is a killer for me, and I once sold on a Skoda Octavia Scout very quickly because of road noise. I would not have expected it to be a problem in a Lexus, and must be careful when I change my car not to make assumptions based on my LS experience Thats odd, I have an IS300h, not much road noise at all - only slightly louder than my RX. Its running on the 18" with 225 front and 255 rear so not exactly small sizes During my test drive last Saturday-Sunday I measured the sound levels The tyres/road noise read a constant 80db + more at times even on smooth roads such as the A35 much of which has recently been resurfaced. Not acceptable I'm afraid. Everything else was/is great, noise levels being the great let down. Such a shame. I have screen shots and when I figure out how to download them I'll post them here
  5. That's terrible Where do you live? The attached is the 24 hr loan si300h which I returned 4pm Sunday
  6. No I won't but i'll be visiting our local Lidl. After all they did win Grocer of the Year 2015 even beating Aldi who held the crown previously. I too have seen very expensive motors in Lidl even a new Bentley. We often shop at Waitrose to buy their Tuna as its caught legally by hook and line rather than huge nets that catch everything including Dolphins
  7. Picked up 24hr loan Lexus si300h today. Have only driven about 35mls home & to Waitrose, but have to say its a lovely motor, lots of toys and drives well...........so far shall put it through its paces tomorrow before posting again
  8. I always recall the time when a scruffy bloke walked into Barclays RR dealer in Berkeley Square London. The commissionaire was about to remove him when one salesman asked him what he wanted, he replied "that" pointing at a Silver Cloud. He then produced the cash from a carrier bag. Never ever judge a boo by its cover as they say
  9. I have to say that when I applied Lexus Poole responded early the next day having confirmed by email that they'd received my request and I'm collecting an si 300 Executive tomorrow Also as I understand it LS's are available if they're on the branch fleet and the Dealer Principal hasn't taken it on his hols
  10. To watch geeks its important to know who's movement is installed. Suspect its Japanese but you never know Does it still have its papers? if so they should identify the movement maker
  11. Actually I find most HGV drivers are OK. Its the van drivers (no offence intended) that I find a problem. When I'm driving our Renault Trafic Master based Motorhome (which is most weeks) the Truckers do on many an occasion flash me in and I do likewise except that at night I flick my headlights on and off as this saves them having to keep watching their NS mirror. (I did drive HGV's including artics and buses in my formative years ) Our MH is quite able to travel at the speed of cars and other traffic, usually 60-70mph yet I have vans come flying past sometimes just before their off junction. Recently one almost took the front of mine off. Crazy sod but when traffic became stationary I drew alongside pointed out he was an idiot and that I had him driving like a dangerious loony recorded on camera. The reason HGV's don't seem to want to slow and pull back in behind the vehicle they'd been trying wthout success to pass is that once they reduce revs/power its a bugger to get it up again Also it should be realized that wjhen behind another HGV the rear one enjoys the advantage of slip-streaming causing them to think they're quicker than the guy in front which they are until they pull out to overtake then the slip-streaming is lost hence their often very slow progress overtaking
  12. I doubt if Sale of Goods Act would be of any use after 18 months ownership. Should have been rejected as unfit a long time ago. Depends when the fault manifested itself and just maybe Lexus after many attempts just recently discovered the problem. Also you can claim upto 6 years after the event knowledge of the fault being the deciding factor
  13. Forget the Lexus Warranty. Instead use the 'The Sale of Good Act' which as it appears to be an inherent fault requires the dealer or finance company to put it right at no cost to you. In other words (& as this a safety item) 'its not fit for purpose'
  14. Hi New Member Why are you posting one line criptic posts which mean nothing to anyone all over the site ???
  15. It isn't bollix You like him are denying the evidence & he's trying to hide it by refusing to publish the deaths which occured AFTER benefits were withdrawn from the disabled As for the questions need to be asked, do you have any idea how difficult it is to obtain disability benefit. Apart from the many months (10 in my case) they contact not only your Dr but also your Consultant and still have another Dr examine you. This is AFTER you've completed a 39 page questionair which if you make just one mistake they'll refuse your claim. You can appeal but again that can take months before you're heard ..........unless of course you choose to believe IDS as in his world everything is fine and dandy
  16. Free speech is for everyone not just the disabled & your opinions (with which I disagree) are as valid as mine. Working with the disabled the sick etc may give you some insight into their/our world but unless you're disabled with very limited mobility then sorry but you'll never be able to fully understand what its like. Its utter Carp and IDS has made it acceptable to attack/slander the sick the unemployed and the disabled. For Gods sake people are dying because of his policies. The man is a not just a disgrace to parliament he's also a disgrace to the human race. As a footnote it appears his CV ain't all its cracked up to be by that I mean its alleged that much of it is untrue ie Uni, Army etc etc So when he quotes statistics to justify himself and this governments policies they never stack up As for the survey I referred too as it was quite some time ago may I suggest you try Googling it ?
  17. 1st no its you who are missing the point if your not disabled why do you care who parks in these bays and yes just becaue some of us are disabled doesn't mean we are stupid (although we do sometimes get treated that way) Yes there are some people who DO abuse the Blue Badge but a survey revealed that its not as many as ablebodied people & this government would have us think. Now not only do they require your doctors written confirmation they also now require evidencxe that you are receiving the highest rate of DLA before they'll issue a permit
  18. http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/tesla-model-s-hacked-researchers-discover-six-security-flaws-popular-electric-car-1514352 The testers have only made known 1 of the hacks because Tesler had already provided a patch but that leaves at least another 5 they found which I understand have not yet been addressed
  19. Being disabled myself I get fed up with those who say "I saw a bloke pull into a disabled bay & it was clear he wasn't disabled" 1st how the hell do they know, simple they don't but they think it gives them the right to park in those bays. I had one *** market trader who was blocking one of the very few disabled bays in the town centre say to me when asked to move the boxes filling the bay "you people think you can park anywhere" I asked "who are these you people you refer to" A great deal more was said but I won't bore you suffice to say he/they have been banned by the town clerk from plying their junk at the market. A previous post referred to someone leaving their vehicle with walking sticks obviously pretending to be disabled because once in the store they didn't need them. My response to that is once thay had a shopping trolley they wouldn't need the stick as the trolley would act like a Zimmer frame. Also if their limp was for the beneifit of the DSS who might be videoing them why would they stop once in the store, would'nt the DSS follow them into the store, of course they would so that comment is utter nonsence like many I see on the web It amazes me that many who critize the benefits the disabled aquire are actually jealous of us. Anyone can have my disability AND benefits provided I can be well again. Any takers?
  20. Yes as I subscribe to some very good security forums I understand the patch to which you refer has already been compromised by hackers. Updating via the internet is great but all security experts are complaining that before installing that ability it needs to be thoroughly tested to make such possibilties impossible. Recently a Jeep with internet connection was hacked in a controlled experiment by 2 IT students using an iPad over a distance of 10miles! They not only took complete control of the Jeep they were aalso able to transmit their live pictures onto the Jeeps dash display screen. In fact they controlled ALL of the vehicles functions including worst of all the streering the throttle and brakes Please note this experiment was undertaken with the owner/drivers consent
