  1. Enjoy your round trip mate! Liking the fuel consumption. I never got anything that good out of it. Now enjoying 34MPG all the time!
  2. Good idea. The wheel swapping thing, not using 18s as winters.... I had 3 sets of summers for my BM and a set of winters on top. You cannot have enough wheels Chris!
  3. The wheels look good but the Aeros look better (and bigger) under an IS IMO. I'm not a fan of black wheels. I had black winters under mine and couldn't wait to put the summers back on. Still have the winters stacked up in the shed for whatever reason. Not be needing them on a FWD
  4. Haha. Range Rover not Rolce Royce....
  5. Bought a black parcel shelf of Ian on here to convert my interior from cream to black. Didn't get on with the IS so this has been living in my shed for the past few months. There's loads of Luxus stuff, half a BMW and a million RR bits in the shed and I want my shed back! Can't even get my mower out!! Collection from S66 before it ends up in the bin.
  6. Fuel gauge over reading is never a bad thing in an IS Chris.....
  7. Where Steve says the back will lift up and away he means give it a proper yank upwards. When I took mine out I thought I was going to break the thing. I'm sure you don't have to take the seat or parcel shelf out though to replace the hinge brackets.

    New Is200

Welcome along! Car is looking nice. The later ones with dark lights look so much more grown up. Had Transporters 2005 IS200 sat next to mine and it's a world of difference inside and out. Enjoy your time on here.
  9. The brackets are bolt-in iirc so should be straight forward. Try it without the bolt mod first as it might be OK with just the new brackets.
  10. ^^ New S40's are very nice indeed but pricey. Just looking round steadily for a Gen2 9-3 Vert preface atm.
  11. Welcome along! Nice looking GS! I nearly swapped my IS for a GS. Lovely cars. Nearly as good looking as IS's too It's hard parting from BMW but you get over it at some point :eerrrmm: I need your number plate!!!!!
  12. I've just read through the lot after ahving a 4 hr delay. I've just got back home as some moron crashed near J25 and been stuck on the M1 for quite a while. Pictures look good! Awaiting some more.
  13. You can buy different type pads that don't give as much brake dust.
  14. Cheers Chris, I went to look at an Aero HOT vert but the engine had a knocking noise and didn't want to risk it. The IS was already sold so I had no car and had to move quick so bought an SE. Still a nice car but no memory seats and Aero body kit. I had a 900 convertible before (same shape) but this is so much more refined and the hydraulic roof just pi$ses over the mechanical roof. Only done 50 odd miles in the thing but shall be taking it out bank holiday Monday as we're back on Sunday. Quite looking forward actually... This is my old 900
  15. I bet he's in shock after looking at his trip-o-meter
  16. Cheers Stuart. @ your trip-o-meter We'll see what mine will do. Bought it last Saturday but have to wait till we get back to drive it. I hate buying cars before you go away!
  17. My 17's were tight to the top of the boot. 18's won't go in I recon.
  18. Tyres are probably a bit easier to squeeze in the boot. The boot won't take two alloys next to each other and two up. With a lot of shuffling around they fit in standing up next to each other with some space behind them which you can't fill as you need that to move them into to get them in/out. I didn't want mine on the back seat and mucky my cream interior up.... It was a good laugh getting them in I can say....
  19. I know. Things all look good but then the hinge arms of the boot lid need to go back in.... Had to undo the handle bars on kids bike today to fit it in the boot as it won't fit with the roof down... Consider the boot in the IS 'big' Give me a shout when the wheels are on and get me a picture. Make sure you leave some space on the side for some logo crap etc...
  20. Looks like you had fun getting them in. I had fun trying to fit 4 17" alloys in the boot a while back... Compared to the Saab the boot on the IS is now fairly sized
  21. Hideous! Red / beige body with brown wheels, mirrors and door handles.... Really??
  22. I reset the thing when I picked it up and done about 50 miles home on backroads 50 odd MPH. We'll see what it does on the school runs when we're back. I used to get 28MPG out of my 2.3 900 vert years ago so I expect this to be better being a 2.0T
