  1. In what way? I did promise not to do this fuel eco run with pictures thing again, so I won't do it any more after this. ;-) I think I'm averaging about 22 I think...
  2. Yeah, that would be good but there's not that many about. The IS200's in the British Touring Cars are 4-pot too.
  3. You must have some fast runners pushing your car up to the speed limit.... I must admit that mine is only being used twice a day for kids run and some beer runs. Always from cold so that doesn't help. I think I need another 4-pot Turbo....
  4. My average is now 260 miles out of a tank. They really ought to have made it a four pot. They're pretty lame unless you're in the 3000-3500 RPM area and then you get even less MPG
  5. Not been in the new new one but gf's dad had two, one 55 plate and one 07 plate. Boring cars as said. The dash creaks from go but I think all new cars are poorly build in that respect. Still pay 20K for the privilege.... Liked the 60+ MPG though
  6. Somebody should build an 80's car with modern electronics.... Thing is is that everything needs to be on the cheap or it won't sell. You can buy a brand new car nowadays for 5K! I'd rather spend half of that on something older without the 5 year guarantee or no MOT's and be happy driving the thing.
  7. Seems like a low battery or faulty alternator to me but someone with more knowledge will be around soon...
  8. Just keep buying the older cars. They look better and they last longer. There's nothing there when buying a new car. My next door neighbour just bought a new Insignia. Just another bland looking thing sitting on his drive. His kids actually told him to get an IS200 as it looks awesome they said. Just sold misses's 1997 Celica, that was nice looking (and never broke) and replaced it with a 2004 C180. Nice enough car but it just blends in with all the other modern kack that's on the roads...
  9. ^^ Old cars are the best! Not so long ago somebody was selling an LS on here with 260K miles on. The 5-Series I had that was replaced by the IS200 I have now done 353K miles and still felt as it should. Cars were just build to last back then. Same as most things now are throw away after a few years.
  10. Colgate is nasty but probably still works Have a look at this too
  11. 1. Get a bit of paste on the headlamp and rub it in evenly for a couple of minutes with some kitchen roll. 2. Clean the headlamp with water. 3. Do the next headlamp. 4. Grab a beer and be proud of your £1 achievement!
  12. They come up pretty good with toothpaste...
  13. I was thinking of putting a tiny switch in the boot lining to turn this on/off. Maybe an idea before you do yours?
  14. Mine has cream interior and its spotless. 96k on it. Still like a black interior though, much nicer!
  15. You could've tapped the brake and fog in from behind the rear set and leave the hinge wiring intact. The spare connector near the lock mech is for a 3rd brake light if a rear spoiler is fitted. I have din this mod but then as tail and fog only. Brake light are just the outers on mine.
  16. As I said before, I'm not a BMW lover as you try to brush me off as (hence me driving a Lexus) it's the comparisons you try to make are wrong as pointed out in previous threads.
  17. Oh dear..... Knobby, I love the Lexus brand as much as you do (hence owning one) but slagging BMW / Mercedes down all the time because you own a Lexus ain't right. Fair do's you bought a cheap ****ty 5 series in the past.... Don't keep comparing mate. There will be numerous BS comparisons coming up from you in a minute but most likely you've not driven any of them! The LS is fantastic (drove one yesterday) and the IS is not more comfortable than a 3-series which I actually hate
  18. You'll need a standard head unit. They're pretty good actually and match the rest of the dash rather than some aftermarket tat
  19. That's a nice looking thing! Same body kit as mine but far nicer wheels. Enjoy it!
  20. Not sure if it is the case in the IS200 but on most cars this is usually caused by the heater valve sticking. Lives in the engine bay
  21. Never been there but have a few friend that live there. Afrikaans is a funny language to listen to when you're Dutch. It's Dutch but then with some added language of their own. I would love to visit one day B)
