  1. @kentIS300 - that's a really nice looking SportCross. Are they Brembo calipers? Or have you just painted the standard fitted pieces? STUPID PHONE! Even with picture viewer app to rotate pictures, it keeps putting thm on the forum as rotated right, everytime! I just tried putting an upside down pic and it was rotated right. I'll edit and use the desktop later . . . .
  2. Hehehe. I just read Mikes opening post for this thread to my wife and she just rolled her eyes and said 'marrying you was the happiest day of my life, but you boys and your toys!'
  3. Hi Rob, no these are the 5 spoke standard for is200 up to 2004, I think think the 11 spoke came out for the 2005 just before the new is range went on sale.
  4. Cheers. So, if I wanted 225 width tyres, the rims themselves would need to be larger than the front, if their not, then they'd be 215, same as the front? Is it only certain versions of the is200 that had 225 rear wheels? E.G. certain sport editions?
  5. Yeah, that what I thought they would b, but it looks like just the height of the tyre wall, the recommendation of blackcircles.com is 225 for the rear, rim width is 45 for both?
  6. Once the wheels are cleaned, I'll get some pics. Raymond. Blackcircles.com suggest slightly larger tyres on the rears. Is it necessary? Matt-c. I wanted tyres that were good with fuel saving (low rolling resistant) and the HanKooks appear to be the best.
  7. Good afternoon all. I now have 5 17" Lexus Alloy Wheels. I want to thank the two people from ebay who I bought these wheels off. I'll be taking them to be refurbished by The Wheel Specialist in Cwmbran at £65 per wheel and then I'll arrange to have HanKook Ventus Prime 2 K115 tyres fitted for the summer. B rated for fuel efficiency and B rated for wet weather grip. £95.45 per tyre for the 225/45/17 at the rear and £109.46 per tyre for the 215/45/17 at the front.
  8. Hi Dean. I've got two being delivered today, sorry. Thank you for letting me know.
  9. I get a sort of scraping noise when I go over speed bumps. Easiest way to describe it, it sounds like what you'd imagine rusty suspension would sound like. Only on the front and only when going over speed bumps. Sudden impact, up and down and then it goes away. Lexus just did my 130000 mile service two weeks ago and didn't notice anything. I don't hear the noise at any other time. Just grin and bare it, or take it to someone to have a look at?
  10. Welcome to the LOC. I've got a first gen is200 and it does like tramlining. I think the width of the tyres has a bigger impact than it should. I also find that mine leans to the left when I take my hand of the steering wheel. But this is also normal, I've had the car serviced by Lexus and everything was fine. There's a place in Bristol called Wheels In Motion and they sort out the geometry of something, I don't quite understand. Chris200tte usually posts after me and says stuff that makes my post make sense. Most people here are very helpful, I'm just friendly. I went to look at a Saab 9-5 Vector estate on a 56 plate before buying my is200 SportCross.
  11. Very nice collection. What's your opinion of the TW STEEL watches? Worth the money or not?
  12. Ah, not sure sorry. Possibly a loose connection. If the fob is actually opening the door, then the battery is fine. Either way, it should be a not really a problem. Where are you to with the pics?
  13. Wlcome to the LOC. Owners club meet up on Sunday 5th May! I wanna sit in your car!
  14. I dunno. From the moment the low fuel light comes on, I've gone a good thirty miles before actually stopping. I've just done 420 miles and only put 64.70litres in to fill the tank! I still had over 5 litres left. I coulda gone further.
  15. Lights coming on when you press the key fob. Do you mean the interior lights? I was stumped when mine didn't turn on, but the interior lights between the front and rear seats, there is a button marked on, off, door. It's this light that comes on when you unlock the doors, not the front interior lights. If this is only the SportCross, I apologise in advance.
  16. They said that if your policy states that you have fully comp for hire cars, Lexus won't charge you, but despite having a fully comp insurance, the section on hire cars said I only have third party. This was the reason I had to pay £10 to be put on their insurance for the day. Have they said how long your car will be in for?
  17. New coded key by Lexus £165.00. This includes Lexus getting the key and coding it for you. It is a bit pricey and some on the forum (ianS200)say it can be done yourself.
  18. Cambelt. There have been a couple of threads about this. Some books say 100k, some say 60k. I think Lexus changed it to 60k after some issues. I was told by Lexus that my SportCross should've two cambelt changes, yet mine hadn't had one!
  19. 384.4 miles covered since last pitstop, still no fuel warning light. It's not far away now, but I may get 420 miles this time.
  20. Not sure. We're still planning the route. Possibly not the Newcastle way.
  21. Welcome to the club. Nice IS300. CD changers are a bit iffy . . . I've already had to replace one. Only had the car a month . . . . It was broken when I got it. The CD changer, not the car . . .
  22. If your insurance is fully comp, though check the bit under hire cars. Mine is only third party for hire cars and I had to pay £10.00 per day for the CT200h. You'll need photo id and paper!
