  1. I wish…………. I am 99% sure we won’t have it by then, soz.
  2. Every year we hold a ride and drive event called ‘Open Road’. I was thinking that someone might want to arrange a meeting at the event I am holding on the 4th of August at Dundas Castle, which is very close to the south end of the Forth Bridge. I would be delighted to send an invitation to anyone who would like to come along. You will get the chance to drive the full range, try the reversing camera and drive the RX off-road(ish). If you want to arrange a meeting, the day is split into 3 parts 10.30 - 13.00, 13.00 - 15.30 and 15.30 - 18.00, so you will need to co-ordinate the timings. Please email me at ireynolds@easternholdings.co.uk if you would like me to send you an invitation, regardless of an LOC meeting happening. Ian
  3. Just spotted some interesting stats..... The 7th best selling car in the UK in March between the Astra in 6th and the Megane in 8th was the BMW 3-Series, they sold 12,307 of them! THis represents 66% of all BMW sales in March, total sales are down 9.3% on last year. Lexus sold 867 IS in March (that's 1 IS for every 14 3-Series) and a total of 1,925. This represents 45% of Lexus sales, Lexus were up 50% on last year. This is due to RX being available this year and not last year in the same period.
  4. Looks like someone with PaintShop!! Here is the future Future 1 Future 2
  5. Good job I didn't price up the short shift!!!
  6. It can indeed The total cost to supply and fit would be £231.08 inc VAT or £203.86 for Gold members.
  7. On investigation, I found that the gearbox casing would have to be changed to accommodate the short shift box.
  8. After 5 years this will happen. At least you still have some exclusivity, think about 3 series owners, for every IS sold there are about 10 3 series!!
  9. I haven't driven the car yet but Simon seems pleased with it. Took a bit of getting used to but he says it feels much sportier. How about a local member popping in for a test drive and writing a wee report on it? I am checking on the aftermarket availability right now, will report soon.
  10. I think it not backlit for safety reasons. The last thing Lexus will want is a law suit from someone who ran of the road because they were adjusting their door mirrors at 70 mph! I think are meant to adjust them before you set off…..
  11. My understanding is Jan 2005. Not sure what to say about the Autocar report, all the timings seem to be out. I guess that it will be here when it will be here. I am sure everyone at Lexus GB and Dealer level will want this asap but I would rather have right and late than wrong and early!
  12. Just buy all your cars in sunny Edinburgh and hopefully no 'swooping' will be required
  13. Call them and ask for Barry Shutt, Centre Principal. I know he wants to provide better service than that and I am sure he would be glad to hear from you, so he can fix it.
  14. Since I am sure you can prove this; I am sure your attitude is justified. You can prove it, can't you?
  15. Despite Tony’s HUGE cynicism, I would personally like to thank everyone who took part in this. Both Lexus and us Dealers work very hard to ensure we are the best and it is results like this that make it all worthwhile. Thank you. Ian
  16. You must remember who owns this technology!! The figs for MB may well be accurate................for them ;) This ended up at the bottom of page one and seems to have got lost
  17. The factory parking sensors are front and rear. The dealer fit ones are only rear. I think the dark wheels are really sporty looking, especially on silver/grey/black paint colours. The initial reaction from the sales team were the same as yours but now they have been looking at them for a month, they like them. They just take a wee while to get used to.
  18. No need for a 'possibly'. It either affects your decision or it doesn't! I was not asking if you would blindly buy the winner of the next survey but just wanted a handle on how many people would consider other peoples experiences before shelling out their hard earned cash.
  19. You must remember who owns this technology!! The figs for MB may well be accurate................for them ;)
  20. Can I ask the 'No's' to explain why it does not affect their decision making process?
  21. With the latest JD Power result due to be published next week, I was wondering how many people actually use it as part of their car buying decision process?
  22. There is a nice video of the roof movement here NY
  23. Hi Brian There is a Lexus lowering kit for the IS200. It lowers the car by 30mm and ‘offers a firmer ride’. The springs are £195.95, Labour to fit them would be £164.38 and I would recommend a four wheel alignment, which would be £82.19. The total cost including VAT would be £442.52 but we could reduce that to £398.27 if you are a gold member. On the back box; just keep the original one for trade in time, the warranty will only be effected if any parts you fit impact on the failure of another part. Hope this helps Ian
  24. If only that were true Besty............ On average, I spend more on reconditioning my used cars than I actually make in profit...... Its not that the cars need a great deal of mechanical work or have anything wrong with them but just putting all the general wear and tear stuff right after one of you guys have put 30k on the clock is not cheap!! My average recon bill is running just under £1,000 per car and there is no VAT there! If you buy privately, you would need to spend that yourself and then end up with no warranty........... I am not touting here, I just wanted to put one the motor trade myths to bed.. Good luck with the search for your new car mandymarty
  25. The retail price for the wheel with rubber is £3,000 but I will give a trade in for Mk2 18" alloys. PM me if you need more details. Ian
