  1. Big Brother is watching us.... Seriously, it's good to know that Dealer Principles do take an interest in this site and others like it - we're all interested in seeing the brand do well. Mind you I'm confused by the statement "'The Mole' is, and never has been a member of my staff" - well is he or isn't he? Sorry, I missed a 'not'.
  2. Dear Ivan We have met and at that point I am sure I made it clear, as I do to all my customers, that should you have an issue with any aspect of the service we provide, to ask for me personally. I never refuse a call from a customer! I will take this opportunity to answer some of your concerns. I have a record of one phone call from you yesterday at 3pm, the message was passed to my Parts Manager, I assume you asked for him. He apologies for the time it has taken to get back to you but he is 2 member of staff short and ran out of time yesterday. After looking at your history, there would appear not to be a duplicate of any complaint, perhaps you can let me know what the current issue is. Regarding the remote locking; the issue with transponders being swamped is well document on this site and I notice your participation in these threads; If you would like to discuss this any further, please call me. Mr Tango I can assure you that 'The Mole' is, and never has been a member of my staff. Any postings I make are up front with my occupation made clear. I do understand why the mole kept his identity hidden as some of the logic employed by some members when they post is hard to understand. This is also the reason I haven't posted recently; I do however take a keen interest in the site. I am reaching for the fire extinguisher as I hit the 'add reply' button. 3. To help clear this up. The heating system requires the petrol engine for power and heat. The AC uses the electrical system.
  4. I am not sure where you are getting that from. I can sell everyone that I get, quoting delivery now for the end of Jan. The next big lift in sales will come when company car drivers realise that it will cost them 80% more in BIK to drive an X5 3.0d 2006/2007.
  5. Please note that prices are NOT confirmed. I am expecting an announcement in Oct relating to this. The insurance groups are IS250 13E IS250 SE/SE-L/Sport 14E, IS220d 12E, IS220d SE/SE-L/Sport 13E. The figures for CO2 are accurate. The workings of gearboxes are not my specialised subject but the drive ratios for the Auto vs Man are quite differant. This may account for the variance.
  6. I think I would have given your SC's a good run for their money Not as quick as the GS430 though Dave?
  7. I have refrained from posting recently as not everyone takes my opinion as it is meant, which is my view from the Dealers side. I see the Mole trying to put the same views across and getting the same treatment. I have been asked specifically for views on this post so please take them as that, my views; my flame retardant suit is away getting cleaned! Like everything else in this world, the value of a used IS200 is set according to the supply vs demand ratio. High demand, low supply = high price. Low demand, high supply = low price. As far as the effect of the new IS250 on IS200; LGB has had this in mind for some time. They planned the run out very carefully so as not to put dealers in a position where we had both models in the showroom at the same time. Most other manufacturers would not care, they would keep pumping them in until it bursts, BMW were a recent case of this with both old and new model 3 series available for sale as new cars at the same time. I have not had new IS200’s to sell here since mid June (I see another thread where someone does not believe their dealer when they tell them this; why should they lie about this!) I think IS200 suffered a little more than it should have in the last year with the introduction of first leather then Nav as standard but my experience is that if anything the values have risen in the last few weeks as dealers run out of IS stock to sell. In the long run, I think the improving image of Lexus in the UK (Hybrid, GS, NG IS, Customer Service, Reliability etc) will result in a higher demand for all products and therefore a higher price. So before you start to decry the brand and your car, please be aware that you are hurting your own residual values. With the supply and demand argument comes discount, one of my sayings is ‘Today’s discount is tomorrows depreciation’. Please remember this when you are asking for discount on your next car, I am not saying you should not ask but excessive supply which results in large discounts is one thing which will hurt residuals immediately. It is a fact that the IS has the lowest depreciation in it’s and I see no reason that should change. …..just reread this and it’s a bit disjointed but I am too busy trying to find used IS’s to buy to rewrite it, sorry. Ian
  8. Hi That was my car for about 4 months. I had the wheels commission by Khan to fit the RX300 and there were only 6 sets made, so this is a very rare car. .............and by sheer coincidence has just been traded back into us and is up for sale. It should be on our web site shortly. Ian
  9. Hi Neil I am glad you are enjoying your car. I am not sure if you bought your car from Lexus Edinburgh but I would be delighted to do your first service for you; the cost is £105 inc VAT. Please call 0845 130 5498 and ask for John Donaldson. Ian
  10. Thank you Dave It was a great to see you all. Come back anytime. Ian
  11. We have a very new bodyshop which the LOC visitors had a tour of, would that be of interest? McDonalds is close, also the Airport........ Their secretary maybe? What about a look round the facilities, didn't Lexus Edinburgh get a big upgrade last year? Honestly not sure what else you could do at a dealers - what is nearby?? ←
  12. When can you start? ...and on the subject of the Sport model, can you tell me what the GS430 is missing that would make it a 'sport', other than a badge?
  13. Glad you enjoyed it. I popped in for a wee while and saw your car there. You should be selling; want a job?
  14. These are all currantly running bits more bits even more bits a bit a wee bit complicated bits a pretty bit
  15. I did offer all of these parts to the LOC collective about 6 months ago but no one was interested. You are right about the 'reserve' bit, about half the bits we put on sold first time, we then relisted with no reserve and forgot to edit the listing, ooops. The reason they are there is very simple, I am clearing out overage parts, we have a stock aging policy and they need to go. This is the first time we have tried ebay and it works. The next batch of bits will go on in baskets to suit specific cars.
  16. 'B' maximises the battery regeneration when you are not accelerating or braking. Feels like putting a manual or automatic into a lower gear. There is no 'electric only' option. I am just back from driving the car.........all I can say is..wonderful, just wonderful.
  17. See the link above, the pic is of the GS450h, the wheels are different.
  18. Dear all Would anyone like an invitation to our GS Launch on the 7th April? If so, please email your proper name and address to me on ireynolds@easternholdings.co.uk, I will then send out the invitation. Ian
  19. I am sorry if I upset you, it was not my intention. Let me re-iterate. If you have not had an order in the system for at least 6 months, there is no Lexus dealer who can supply you a car in June. All of the June cars are accounted for. As for delivery after that....it depends on the order bank and subsequent supply to your dealer, larger dealers will naturally get more than smaller dealer. After speaking to many of my friends in the network they all seem to have had a good enquiry rate and are building an order bank for this car. I have not heard of any dealer with zero orders. At the moment we do not know how many or when we get further RX400h’s, so I would advise being wary of anybody ‘promising’ a delivery date. As for fuel economy, we can all see what it says on paper and I guess we all need to wait and drive it to see what it means in real life to us as individuals but can you really see Toyota not having this right?
  20. We use BP Visco 3000 10/40 and an IS200 takes just under 4 litres. We would have told you if you had asked though.
  21. This was my attempt at sarcasm....... Let's just take a look at what people might compare this to. RX300 SE-L vs X5 3.0d SE Price - RX est. £44k X5 spec'ed up £48k and it still would not have the Power Rear Door, DVD ICE System, ETA on the Nav or a Reversing Camera. Urban Fuel - RX 31.4mpg X5 23.5, that's 34% better with....... 0-62 - RX 7.6 X5 8.8, 1.2 seconds faster. So you are telling me that a faster, cleaner, more economical, less expensive, better spec'ed car from a dealer network that is voted by real customers to be the best in the land might be a problem?
  22. The SE-L does not have air suspension, we have not been told why yet. The SE-L get ICE (DVD System) instead and all RX400h's get the new VDIM system as standard, I have not tried it yet but I understand it to be the next generation in stability management, it pre-empts a problem rather than reacts to one.
