  1. This is not lame; it is entirely sensible. Lexus will not launch a product that is not 100% right. Other manufacturers have done this to their cost, think of M-B A Class! This car and technology is far too important to let a few months delay in launch stand in the way of perfection. From a consumers point of view, would you rather have it when it was initially estimated or have it right? You would be the first to complain if there was a change in spec or improvement to the car 6 months after launch. ...and if you don't want it, I am sure there will be plenty of people lined up to take your place. I have orders dating back to May 2003.
  2. I bought the Yellow IS300 from Belfast and as far as I am aware it is leading a normal life with one of my customers in Aberdeen. It was my understanding that this was the only one built for the UK! I personally love the colour and have been very successful selling them.
  3. Be careful The MKII has multiplex wiring and is very easy for someone who is not familiar with it to mess it up badly. We had to sort out a bad phone installation, it cost the guy nearly £900!
  4. The only guide that shows the IS300 is CAP. CAP is split into 4 sections, Retail, Trade Clean, Trade Average and Trade Below Average. This guide tends to show what cars are achieving at auction but with Lexus having such a low through put (and IS300 even lower), it is sometimes not representative. The figures for an 03 03 IS300 Navigator with 25,000 miles are - Retail £18695 Clean £16350 Average £15450 Below £14400 The old adage still stands, ‘it is worth what someone is willing to pay for it’. Rich, if you would like me to make an offer for the car, please email me on ireynolds at easternholdings dot co dot uk
  5. Just had a look at the entries so far, not too many there yet!! Well done to Fargo, Maz and Figits; really nice entries guys Where are the rest of you? Ian
  6. The way the orders are coming in for this means that the waiting time after launch may well be a year or more anyway!
  7. Ahhh, this is a review of the piece I wanted and not the actual piece!! Now I can’t find it, soz
  8. Does this meet your standards Chris? How do I put a picture on the right hand section of my signiture?
  9. I have a 40GB with nearly 6,000 tracks on it, I have the iTrip but I think I need to retune it. I haven't tried to be as naughty as you..............yet. I listened to 'The Richest Man in Babylon' again and can see where you are coming from with the ragga thing now. I also noted some Latin and Eastern type influences.
  10. A special edition beetle did come with a built in docking station for the ipod and I think Smart are just about to do one too. Is the itrip illegal? I love my ipod, the best toy I have ever had.
  11. MP3 is'nt standard on any car and I don't think it's even an option on any! Someone will come on and tell me I'm wrong though. Did the Mad Professor do something with Massive Attack? I'll listen to Thievery Corporation tonight on the way home to see if I get this ragga/dub thing
  12. A few personal views on a few posts The RX400h will be significantly more powerful and economical that the RX300, why spend millions developing it otherwise? We don’t know what the price will be, I think there will be a premium but I am sure it won’t be ‘priced out of the market’, that’s just not Lexus style. Fuel consumption at speed- When traveling at higher speed it is the petrol engine that is working, so there will be no significant economic savings. At higher speeds you will get benefit from the regenerative braking but none immediately from the electric engines.
  13. I do love all sorts of music..........my ipod has nearly 6,000 tracks on it now! (if you don't have one, you sure need one) I hadn't heard of Thievery Corporation until LGB told us what the music for the ad was going to be. I bought the album and was very impressed, all good stuff. Do you really think it's ragga/dub though Ian
  14. Not in a position to give a physics lesson Besty but I can confirm that I have seen this on 2 occasions. You know how hot these ovens can get, having been partially cooked yourself ;)
  15. I know how you need constant stimulation Deiter, so here is a link for you Link one
  16. Can I ask how your 'ex-Lexus' technician will keep up to date on new models? I spend a great deal of time, money and effort keeping my tech’s fully trained. The day they leave is when their education stops, they lose their diag equipment and access to special tools. At that point all they can really do is basic stuff: oil change, discs pads etc, which lets face it, any tech could do. The problems start to arise when a tech that is not fully up to speed misses something that a fully trained tech would notice. I have already seen problems with trailer specialists fitting tow bars to the new RX. They cut into the multiplex wiring and the whole lot goes down! At that point my techs knowledge and training is worth every penny of what I charge. As cars continue to get more complex, especially the electronics, the diag equipment and tech training will become more valuable. What will the potential specialists make of Hybrid! I think some of the issues raised here are not necessarily related to the charges made by Lexus Centres but the service they offer. You are right to complain about that and vote with your feet if necessary.
  17. I have seen this happen a few times on cars that have not had their headlamps removed before baking.
  18. The New GS will not be there unfortunately. I will be there on the 27th but will be very busy hosting some of my customers.
  19. I had thought about doing this a few months ago but never really got into any detailed plans. It is something I will probably do in the future, how long it takes will depend on feed back from my customers.
  20. If it's the RX advert filmed in Barcelona, then it will be a track by Thievery Corporation from an album called 'Richest Man in Babylon'
  21. Have a look here Dieter FACTS and don't worry, there won't be enough h's to go round any way, you wait for your Merc, I am sure they will have improved their JD Power result by then too :winky: Ian
  22. They developed and therefore own the most important parts of the technology. They will be selling or renting it to other companies to use, just as Philips did with the CD. This will mean TMC and therefore Lexus will always be one step ahead. These figs here are in US gallons, have your read the start of this thread?
