  1. Not keen on white IS200's :P Nah, only joking Mat. Although the styling on race cars is usually for a purpose they always looks overly fusy to me.
  2. The obvious went on mine....brake pads and shock absorbers. If the cam belt hasn't been changed i'd get that done sooner rather than later ;)
  3. @Gord :D If I can find a car that could compare to the S/C'd Is then I'd probably sell. Although the wife wants me to get something more reliable....best start looking at volvo's!!! @Rob, nice one mate. Did originally do a search for 'bypass spring' and came up with loads of posts with 'spring' that wasn't related to the charger so gave up. :D Some of them older posts are really helpful and if the garage can't sort it they'll at least have photos to guide them. I'll let you know how things progress. Ta, Miles
  4. Not got a clue, not seen it since yesterday mate. Best get in touch with TTE just in case.
  5. Thanks Gord. If it was the bypass spring would I need to contact TTE again for a specific replacement or could this be bought from elsewhere?
  6. Yep, that's what the garage said. The guy reckons he's got loads of spare pipes lying around that he could use. Where do you get the uprated clips? Also is it worth getting the uprated attachments from Dave at ProLex? Ta, Miles
  7. Nice one. Said it's the pipe closest to the unit itself. Said the pipe was getting very hot (sorry not much help), no piccies (sorry again). Mentioned the bypass spring to him and he got excited, and I've not heard from him since, seemingly gone home . Would the bypass spring not working cause a build up of pressure causing the pipe to blow off and heat up? Ta, Miles
  8. Before I start sorry for the poor sound effects but they sound right in my head :P After getting my ecu replaced with a spanking new one the car was running spot on again. Anway too good to be true. Yesterday when I changed down a gear there was a "wwhhooooommmmmmm" sound like what I presume a s/c induction kit would sound like. So I took it to the garage and sure enough a pipe had come away from the rubber holding secured by the clamp just a bit loose - no problem, it happens. So after tightening it back up and heading out on my merry way I changed down gear and got a massive "scrrreassshhhhhh" a bit like a very fast spurt of air. So took it back to the garage. They've looked at it today and said that they think the supercharger is over boasting and that the pipe just keeps blowing off from the housing and the pipe is very hot. Any ideas if this would be caused by the bypass spring not functioning or possibly the precats melting as I can't imagine it's a problem with the S/C unit itself as it's still hardly broken in?
  9. Defo 5 mate. As they don't look deep dish they will probably look a bit bigger as well.
  10. When my ecu went the car shuddered twice like it was caught in a strong wind before cutting out completely. You might want to check if the tow eyes are away from the intercooler. If they're not and you break down it can only be towed from the back. Speaking from experience Then you might want to make sure you've got RAC cover.
  11. Looks like my ordered Sports Grille has turned up at Lexus Liverpool :D . Has everyone else who ordered one had a call yet?
  12. I had same problem - changed them for some bosch ones from ebay (with spoiler) and job's a good un'. :D
  13. Had been told 18/11. When I phoned yesterday they said that the system was stating delivery on 20/12...something to do with a problem sourcing the part apparently. :(
  14. I'm keeping mine until I find an Aristo vertex at the right price and location. Just missed one for £8.5K with 93K on the clock and imported from brand new cos mine was getting fixed in the garage. Gutted! :( I know The Wilo has a Is200 Sport for sale, think it's on at £6850 if that's any help?
  15. I'll let you know tomorrow mate. I tried to fit it today, left it too late, couldn't get the B&M one in, then struggled to get the STD back in, took 2 hrs, scraped my hand on the flippin surround plate, couldn't get the clips back in, the screws wouldn't go back in, felt just like turning into the incredible hulk...ggrrrrrrrrr! :( :megaangry: :megaangry: :megaangry:
  16. Finally got my car back...feels so good! :D Anyway it turned out to be a problem with the black ecu on the s/c. TTE kindly supplied a new one for gratis. Just wanna say thanks to you guys especially Mat, Rob and Gord for your input into getting me back on the road. It may also be worth adding this to the supercharger problems post just incase it happens to anyone else further on down the line.
  17. If i sell I'll give you first refusal. I'll want exactly what I paid for it - 100 squid (well I paid 99.27) but round well round it up :D . Gonna see if this car i've had my eye on is still there tomoz. If it is i'll be selling the shift, if it's not i'll be fiting it. :D
  18. I'm crap with cars and diy mate. Too much of a short fuse, tend to force something if it's not working and then kick myself when it's broke :megaangry: :megaangry:
  19. Saw Used Car Roadshow last night at a classic car meet. One of the experts got asked what would be a future classic and his reply was keep your car in a garage for a while and the early model LS400 mightbe a classic...so there you go!! :D
  20. Is that it fits a lot different in a good or bad way mate? If it's got too many negatives I might just sell it on. What do you think from your experience with them?
  21. Bought myself a B&M shortshifter from ebay, looks more or less brand new. No instructions provided but scrapped bits and bobs on how to fit from off here. Deciding whether to keep or sell depending on circumstances. Is the short shifter meant come come with a gear knob? Or do you just take your existing one off and replace it on the shortshifter? Also what's peoples opinions on this mod and has anyone got any piccies of it fitted. Thanks, Miles
  22. Not exactly sure what they're looking at. From the picture, tte diagram and basic instuctions I can see where the wires go to and I've no mechanical/auto electrical experience. I'll take the piccy down tomoz and find out what's going on. I'll keep you informed guys. Thanks! Miles.
  23. Nice one fellas. I've missed the flippin' mechanic again so I'll need to pass on the the info tomorrow. Expect another barrage of questions..
