  1. Just looking on the configurator, neither colour were ideal I really wanted Mesa Red or Azure Blue, however I think I would go Graphite Black. The grey is the same one as I have now Mercury and they had an RX in the showroom in Graphite Black and it looked brilliant. Agree the contrast on the front isn't as good, but it does look stealthy. Servcing pack looks like another negotiation point then, reviewing the offer last night, they have also bundled in a "Premium PDI" which adds nearly £1k to the cost, which I think I remember the salesman saying sealed the paint and leather etc. Again something I'm not wanting so more cost reduction! Just a tank of fuel and something for the missus to spring out and we will be there!
  2. Good shout on car2cover, about £60 cheaper than ALA. anyone have thoughts on service pack? Worth having, hassles. It is something I would be haggling over.
  3. So my current Lexus Fsport lease is up at end of March and I need to make a choice on what to do. Car has been great and I don't really want to give it up. I also can't get another one same/similar on company lease as they've changed the rules somewhat for me and it's no longer allowed. Been to Lexus dealer today and asked about purchase of new Fsport with premier pack, and I've been offered one of 2 available before then end of March and with a bit of negotiation got 9.9% discount. Colour choice is Graphite black or Grey both have black interior. As this is first car I've bought for many years and first Lexus by private purchase, couple of questions. Servicing costs. I'm still doing 15k/ year, so what's cheapest dealer service option. Have been offered full price service pack (3 services just) at £1k which I baulked at. I know Lexus servicing is going to be higher than most at 10k intervals. What do others do about GAP insurance. Lexus cost for this is also huge, can see it can be had for a fraction of price on internet. Any recommendations for broker? any other comments or help, probably going back tomorrow to decide.
  4. The servicing bit is typical. Normal users interval is 10k miles. Business users is 12k. Depending on when it alerts and what availability the dealer has it is possible to do a couple of thousand more between booking and attending. Either way as another poster has said, the car is so reliable its nothing to be concerned about. As mentioned post a pic of the wear on the leather. Some members have blagged a warranty issue if it is particularly bad. happy driving!
  5. Looks like there are loads of minor, under the skin mods that Lexus have done. Suspension changes, steering tweaks, drivetrain etc etc as well as the exterior & interior upgrades. http://media.toyota.co.uk/2016/12/focus-style-quality-handling-safety-new-2017-lexus/ Ref the "Premium pack" on the F-Sport for £6250, I bet it is all the options bundled together for no discount. Nav, leather, ML, Protection pack, Metallic Paint, Rear Cross Alert. That should get to the £6250.
  6. If the Sat Nav voice is turned off, you don't get any warnings or directions spoken. You'll still be able to set destinations etc. You need to have the voice set to a volume other than 0 to get traffic. I find reroute notifications are very hit and miss, more miss really.
  7. MY15 Hybrid badges on sills are scripted rather than square, and the premium nav has a shark fin aerial. No changes to performance, ride or handling AFAIK.
  8. If you scroll to the right to settings, you can change what is displayed in the "i" tab and the order too.
  9. At this time of year, low 40's is about right for mpg for an f sport doing high motorway mileage at 70ish. 65k in mine, mostly motorway, and its averaging about 42mpg. Brakes shouldn't be grinding, but the pedal feel takes some getting used to. There is a squeaky, screech sound when you creep which is normal.
  10. The manuals for the new IS MY17 are on the Customer portal site to download too now. A few differences, 10.3" screen confirmed, but would appear to be for the Premium Nav only. Some other minor differences in switch gear and instrument lights. Addition of enter and back buttons on remote touch definite improvement.
  11. They say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. This new BMW has more than a hint of Lexus about it, don't you think?
  12. Real world, there is very little in it performance wise between GS and IS 300h. Economy wise probably 5% less on GS too. F SPORT GS comes with AVS as standard though, so ride should still be good o 19" rubber bands. Tight B roads in a GS were IMO more fraught, it is a bigger feeling and driving car than the IS!
  13. USB in the car only supplies 0.5A output, so charges my phone very slowly and not at all if I'm using it with screen on for something like Nav or music. Better to use a 2A adapter from the 12v socket.
  14. By the figures in the brochure there isn't a lot in it dimensionally, but the GS definitely feels the bigger car. Only you can decide if that is what you like/want/need. As you say, you need to test drive to be sure. Ask for a 24hr test drive, not just a run round the block.
  15. Bear in mind the new MY17 IS will answer and close some of the spec differences between IS and GS. I.e the infotainment screen size, led headlights, active safety etc.
  16. This has gone a bit off topic but, the GS is a different character of car to the IS. As previously mentioned it's bigger, ever so slightly slower, slightly less economical (it's even heavier) , less practical (no drop down rear seats and the boot whilst same volume is wide, deep and shallow in GS due to battery placement behind rear seats), arguably better built and finished, with some spec differences/improvements around lights, Infotainment and seats. You really need to drive one to appreciate the difference in how it feels. I had the same choice when I picked my IS. I drove the GS first and liked the GS, but it was a much bigger feeling car, with compromises in practicality and cost for me, so I went IS.
  17. Forgot that one! Possibly needs the stars aligned too..... after 2 yrs and 60k, I've come to just accept what it does, though just when you think you've figured how it will act, it will do something unexpected.
  18. If as soon as you start it, you hit the EV button....... And the battery has enough charge...........and it's not tooooo cold, then it will run in EV mode up to about 30mph.......provided you don't accelerate too hard. it is normal but annoying.
  19. It should have full European cover. Map updates cost more than a brand new TomTom. Welcome to the group.
  20. There are 2, A and B. Press the Odo button down under the clocks, near the ASC control to cycle through them.
  21. Main one is the SE has fixed back seats, models above they fold down, increasing practicality. SE also doesn't have leather, or heated seats, the bolsters are just plastic, centers are cloth. Depends on you what you value I guess. The spec hasn't changed much, have a look at Lexus.co.uk and compare the various models, there might be something else I've missed that may be critical. SE with Premium Nav covers most bases though.
  22. That looks perfectly fine to me, just serviced at Lexus 3k ago too. You could find out which Lexus dealer and enquire with them for a copy of the service report to see what it had done? Only thing that puts me off personally is its a basic SE, but it does have Nav. Given the mileage you aim to do, if you keep it for 3 to 4 years it will correct itself on mileage and you probably wouldn't lose out. It should have been serviced every 12k miles so you should have 10 stamps, that is why I wouldn't be worried about mileage. Also at 3yrs does it have an MOT yet?
  23. I've done 60k in 2yrs in mine and its going like a train. Local taxi company to me is running Prius and Leaf's as Taxi's doing 100k a year without battery issues. It is something I wouldn't worry about. Cosmetically, yes, motorway miles will have ravaged the paint on the bumper/bonnet (I know mine has) and possibly the windscreen too. I'd also check wear on the drivers seat, steering wheel and door trim. The leather in mine is still OK, but does look worse than the passenger. On the plus side the backseat will be unused! If it has a full service stamp from a main dealer, with other history, it meets your needs and budget, then I wouldn't rule it out. What warranty does it come with?
  24. HTC one M9 on latest firmware works perfectly with Bluetooth from Amazon music or Google music, or the HTC music app. Shows artist/album and skip tracks. Can't skip albums though and still need to select the app and navigate to it on the phone which is a hassle. Lexus PremNav on latest firmware too. Surprised OnePlus2 works, couldnt get mine to work at all with the Lexus, kept crashing and ended up selling it to my brother. It does work perfectly on his new model Vauxhall Astra. My advice for using USB is buy a 2nd hand IPod Touch, latest/ biggest model you can afford. It doesn't need to be a good one, as long as it's functional. It will work perfectly, show up all the album artwork, track details, playlists, etc. USB keys can be a load of hassle.
  25. We've recently moved into a new build house, the estate is still being built and my drive is opposite the builders main compound. I left the car last week on the drive for 3 days and came back to find it completely covered in fine dust, sand and cement powder. Car was virtually white from it! Tried a quick hose down, but had to do a full wash at the weekend. A day later and it's just as bad. 6 more months of this. :-(
