  1. As above plus under the bonnet, the tops of the suspension turrets have black plastic raised devices on the top with wires connected to the wiring loom. some people find it firm, some don't. Personal preference but there is a difference compared to both a Lux model on 17's or a Premier on 18's.
  2. The Fsport definitely has a firmer ride due to tyres and suspension. Only a drive will allow you to judge. AVS does make a difference, subtle as it may be, but it is a rare option so finding one 2nd hand would be hard. Personally I don't think the ride is bad, but only you can decide.
  3. I'd agree, looks ok in pics and description. Number plates show as Lexus Leicester car, guess it has been traded to them and bumped on to these guys due to mileage. Has Premium Nav, ML but no leather or AVS. I wouldn't be put off by mileage. Mine goes back next week with 73k on the clock, other IS owners here have more, no issues with mine, still drives and sounds looks as per the day it arrived.
  4. Attached is the brochure from late 2013, which should cover your car, shows only Leather (manual or electrical adjustment) and Premium Nav as options. So 'Comp', no idea. Lexus_IS_brochure.pdf
  5. what vintage is your IS? Leather was an option on early cars, later cars it came as standard. Leather and Nav were the only options available on the Lux version IIRC.
  6. and it's a bit different, integrated within the main Lexus website. Biggest issue I can see so far is it requires you to verify ownership of the vehicle by quoting some info from the V5. For those with lease/company vehicle without access to the V5, that will prove difficult........ on the up side, once you've done that you should then be able to see the full service history of the car - provided the dealer has updated it!
  7. I use Prestone from Tesco - no issues here.
  8. It can take up to 5ltrs to fill it. The warning should go out automatically. it is possible the sensor has failed in the bottle. If it is full, then a dealer visit is probably likely.
  9. I was also almost swayed by the passat GTE, the only car which came close to offering similar cost levels, but like you I was put off by the 1.4l petrol engine, the economy when the charge runs out, plugging in here and there to try and max the mpg and I wasn't too impressed by the interior quality and gadgets etc. The fact you could get an estate version though almost tipped me to getting one. If I was only commuting up to 50 miles a day then the Passat might be better, but for long motorway travels, I think the Lexus as a company car still can't be beat when you look at BIK tax, business fuel recovery and MPG.
  10. Hybrid driving style makes a big difference. You need to accelerate up to speed briskly and then lift off and reapply throttle. As does speed and hills! The early cars seem worse at getting into the Hybrid efficient super cruise mode compared to later mid cycle facelift cars, something was upgraded in the power train as the co2 dropped and mpg increased slightly across the board I think. My 2014 FSport is the same, averaging around early 40's. When you think about it to get that from a relatively heavy luxury 2.5l petrol auto is impressive regardless.
  11. This bodes very well. I pick mine up on the 25th and can't wait. That's a cracking mpg, driving in sport mode all the time, I can't get near that with mine currently.
  12. I don't think so, but i will probably have both old and new cars for a couple of days together, so I can measure them!?
  13. Bear in mind Fsport with leather seats also come with electric memory drivers seat, they are heated and ventilated, has electric steering column adjustment, folding mirrors with dipping mirror in reverse and comfort access ( seats and steering wheel move back on entry/exit). It was a £2k option new and well worth having over std seats as a used car. Also, you will only get a reversing camera if an Fsport has Nav fitted. the later 2014/15 cars had improved interior trim, not the hard black scratch prone stuff on the earlier cars. Make sure the alloys are good as kerbing damage is a bugger to fix due to the paint finish on Fsport wheels.
  14. Interesting the flyer says they are build to order. Dealer principal this afternoon said there were only 4 vehicles allocated to the UK this year - 2 V8's and 2 hybrids - and Lexus were air freighting them over!
  15. Well car has arrived 2 weeks ahead of schedule at the dealer and in plenty time to beat the 1st April tax changes. The Naguri trim is very nice to the touch. Its a bit, well, erm, black, behold the DarthVaderMobile................
  16. Very nice indeed - any pics of the interior? Last time I sat in one, I liked the tech and layout, but the trim quality put me off, it was just too American in it's "premium" feel. Has it improved? be interested to hear how you get on with range, recharging, etc - good luck!
  17. I can heartily recommend the Michelin Pilot Sport 4's fitted to my current F-Sport, much much better than the Bridgestone ER33. The PS4's are the current AutoExpress tyre champion. The Continental SC5's that were fitted to the rear of mine were fitted by the Lexus Dealer and they were ok, slightly less noisy than the ER33's, but wore prematurely on the inside edge at 20k miles. Just been to see the new car this afternoon at the dealer and it has Dunlop Sport Maxx fitted as std, so it will be interesting to see how they feel. They look more like the Bridgestones with a rounded profile and shoulder, whereas the Conti and Michelin's have a more square shoulder. Maybe this squarer shoulder is why they wear quickly on the inside edge compared to the Bridgestone?!?
  18. I think current firmware is at least VD12103C or possibly D, there was a thread on it recently. It's available on the Lexus Tech page, not in the Portal for download
  19. I was able to pick mine literally "off the boat" for March delivery in the spec I wanted, just had to be flexible on colour(I did have a choice). That's the benefit of a Lexus as there isn't many spec/colour/model combinations and they do make for stock. It's sat in the dealer now awaiting prep and will be registered before April, so £10 tax for me. There has also been an across the board price increase at start of Feb, adding £795 to most IS.
  20. I secured 9.9% discount and finance at 2.9% with mine, matching Carwow discount, after a bit of haggling. F-Sport with Premier pack.
  21. Yep they've changed it on the facelift. Previously you could spec AVS separately but only in conjunction with Premium Nav. Mine has it it makes a slight difference to ride, bringing a step back in softness in eCO/normal and a firming up in Sport+ It is a real unicorn option though not many about.
  22. Some of the pronunciations when we were in continental Europe were hilarious!
  23. Everything except Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear traffic cross alert is now standard on all models above SE on MY17. These two options are still only available on either the Premier or F-Sport when order with the Premier pack.
  24. Just had 4 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 put on my car, really like them, quiet, grippy and better on bumps than Bridgestones.
  25. The gunk is able to be cleaned away but it is a horrible job and the tyre fitter will try and dissuade you and get you to buy a new tyre. I'd try and get it repaired by either taking it off or getting enough air in it to get to the nearest centre. you could get a mobile tyre fitter to come to you?
