  1. Not on European models! Tyre repair kit only.
  2. It’s not coming yet to any Lexus or Toyota European model this year. Toyota say ”we are working on it”😔
  3. What spec have you gone with? Did you add the pack which has Adaptive Variable Suspension? If so, in Normal mode it rides more or less the same as the other trims. In Sport +, it firms up the ride and you feel every ripple, ridge and cats eye. I very rarely use Sport+. If not it will ride slightly stiffer, but a lot of it is down to the low profile and wider tyres and bigger alloys. In my opinion, it is still way better than any non-premium car, secondary ride quality is far better and for Motorway use it is perfectly fine. The seats are also extremely comfortable. Did you test drive at all??
  4. Love how they compare the residuals between Takumi and an “equivalent” diesel 5 series, saying the Lexus IS very poor in comparison. Any equivalent BMW I’ve looked at is about 10k more expensive to make them spec identical. Then you have the 900 or so Lexus says they wish to sell per year in Uk, versus the 900 or more per month BMW must sell into the fleet market...... Business Car mags own calcs on a std 520d says it will retain 38%, which incidentally is exactly what Lexus thinks the ES will retain.
  5. I have triple LEDs on my facelift fsport, the range is still poor imo, light is bright white though, auto high beam works well enough.
  6. Have a look at the latest (jan 2019) price list in link below. It has the new model structure and some notes about what the packs contain. Not a huge difference to current. My dealer said they had had to temp stop ordering IS models as they didn't know and couldn't guarantee to buyers what they were going to get..... The IS link for brochure still takes you to the old one. https://forms.lexus.co.uk/mvc/LexusBrochures
  7. 50% retained value is pretty good overall, much better than some of the other manufacturers. Being low volume, non-fleet really helps residuals and has hit BMW/Audi/Merc badly as they chased higher volume sales. No one has ever claimed buying a car is good financial sense, but you need to be savvy to minimise outgoings. Could be worse, you could have bought a MG6 - just 23% retained value 😱
  8. I don't think so, just don't like the Toyota styling and interior finishes. Have been looking at a new RAV4, but it really doesn't do anything for me style or finish wise. Lexus use Inrix Real time traffic, or at least as close to real time as you get. Its the same system as used in BMW and Mercedes I think. You need to connect a mobile phone to it and set it to use the data connection to get the most up to date data though, by default it uses RDS Traffic data from FM radio, which is very poor. Overall It is pretty good, but Google/Waze is still better still.
  9. For me there are a few potential issues before I will be in an ES. First the sheer size of it, not sure I need such a large car. Second the size of the boot, the aperture and the lack of folding rear seats, after 2 IS, I need something more practical. Third the infotainment options or lack of them. Fourth, whilst pricing is keen compared to its competitors, my spec is over £40k, so attracts extra tax and the finance rates are at 5.9% which is pretty high. ive been looking elsewhere and my head says a Mazda 6 2.5 GT sport Nav tourer would satisfy all my requirements and would be £10k cheaper and 0% pcp ......
  10. I wish they would just add the cost to the car and be done with it.
  11. one of the better review - https://www.evo.co.uk/reviews/22126/lexus-es-300h-review-can-it-attract-keen-drivers
  12. From the AutoExpress review So they compare the performance and drive train to a diesel equivalent and 2 other hybrid models/brands which are significantly more expensive, a different architecture and completely different performance envelopes, then mark down the ES because it is different. I don't get it. I'd love to know who are these people who buy BMW 5 series for the driving dynamics and back road thrills. Most I see are driven up and down motorways or filled with children. Surely outright refinement and long distance cruising is what these kind of vehicles should excel at.
  13. ............and another, same message https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/lexus/es/103684/new-lexus-es-300h-2019-review
  14. https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/lexus/es/first-drives/lexus-es-300h-2019-review You could predict what is said without reading it. Good car, whiny engine. It’s getting boring.
  15. lol, yes I know, I'd be tempted to put my Dad on the insurance so he could chauffeur me! Though come to think of it, I wouldn't be able to prise him out of the heated rear seats!
  16. I also popped into Newcastle branch today to check out the ES models. As Habu said they have a Takumi in I think Silver with Cream/Brown leather, an basic ES in Sonic Titanium with Sandstone and an FSport model with takumi pack in Graphite black with black leather. The FSport and base ES are registered as demos. The Takumi is showroom only for now, apparently Newcastle is one of the few dealers in the UK with a Takumi model. Cars are very nice, shape is better in the flesh, but they are big cars, bigger than a GS on the outside, but not that big interior wise. For instance the boot is just 4 litres bigger than a IS, yet the car is 1foot longer and this is depsite it being front wheel drive and the batteries under the rear seats!. Rear head room is better than IS, despite coupe shape. Acres of rear legroom, this seems to be where the extra length has been used. Tech fest indeed, takumi's rear button panel for the seats, infotainment and climate in the centre armrest is great, the leather smells and feels fabulous, but the plastiky brown wood trim on the steering wheel, dash and doors put me right off and there sin't another option other than black trim in same places! FSport looks good, bodykit suits it, 19" alloys in a dark metallic grey now, so possibilities of easier kerbing repairs (here's hoping!), seats are great, very comfortable, look superb but not leather, instruments a step up from IS FSport. HUD looks good too. Negatives for me - weird spec choices as standard, car isn't actually that big inside despite large external dimensions, FSport interior is very gloomy, even with a sunroof. Its black leather, black headliner, black trim and darkened rear windows. Red trim would be a must really imo. Still some odd and very small button placements. The Engine start/stop button is quite small and mounted low down on the left of the steering wheel for instance. Will look at a 24hr test drive in the coming months.
  17. Full brochure now available for download https://forms.lexus.co.uk/EBrochures/Lexus_ES_e-brochure.pdf some real oddities in the spec. No Carplay as suspected. Nav is the same system as in the RX I think. F-Sport trim is confirmed as Tahara only, no leather even as an option. But a base ES with premium pack gets Smooth Leather?!? Takumi trim is semi-aniline. Premium Pack on base ES also gets Blind Spot and Rear Cross traffic, but its not part of the Takumi pack on the FSport. You get a card key with the Takumi pack on FSport which isn't mentioned, but is in the spec list. 360 deg camera (part of the Premier/Takumi packon on NX) is Takumi trim only in ES. Its a real hotchpotch!
  18. If you turn off the nav spoken instructions (turn volume to 0) then the beep will go too. I have mine turned off, as its too annoying.
  19. seems to be a false alarm as others have said, all working today, so appears to be server end. Thanks
  20. Got a new message today flash up in a top bar intermittently on the Sat nav screen, saying connection not possible, system requires software upgrade, see Lexus portal for more info. I can’t get traffic or parking data, but can still access google, petrol prices and weather. If I try a forced connection, I get Id=d4 error. No info I can find on the Lexus sites about it. Hoping it is a temp glitch, but anyone got any other ideas or info??
  21. Mine is set to Eco and doesn’t switch often between outside and recirculated air. I’ve only seen it do it in the summer when it tries to cool the car quickly and switches to recirc to do so. On cold mornings it doesn’t do likewise to warm faster. I’ve never seen it change according to pollution levels.
  22. Yep, I’m still interested but will need a longer test drive if a FSport model to convince I can live with different drive style and engine noise before purchase. card key is just a key shaped like a credit card you can leave in your wallet/bag
  23. Probably has a fuse for the cooling fan etc, make sure they are still good.
  24. Did you know if you press and hold the cruise button in for a few secs, it will revert to normal cruise control (not speed adaptive).......
  25. Further confirmation and details from the Lexus Blog - https://blog.lexus.co.uk/2019-lexus-nx-revised-grades-and-specifications/ Unless the dealer has something in writing from Lexus themselves, it looks like the F-Sport & takumi pack does not feature vented seats, heated rear seats or card key, you need to choose the Takumi spec model instead. This is the same as the current F-Sport/Premier model differences. Its pretty much as is, just a mild change and name change. Plus the inevitable price increase!
