  1. Hi, my Is300h has just done 10,000 miles. It is 9 months old and I am a private buyer. Usually I get my cars services once a year and do less than 10,000 per year but recently I have been using the IS for work and so have put more miles on it than usual. Mostly on A roads not straight motorways. The service book says 10,000 miles for private customers who do shorter trips and 12,500 for business customers who do longer trips. Do I get it done now at 10,000 or wait for 12,500? Just thinking although I have not done "business mileage" it has not been done on motorways but A roads where the brakes, engine start and stop more often and so would it be classed as more wear than if it was cruising up and down the motorway hence I should get it done now. Thanks
  2. But big fancy exhaust systems say "Hey, I have a big engine, look at all the obnoxious gasses I put out". The 300h is about not putting out these gases. You can't have it both ways.
  3. For me, Lexus is about standing out from the crowd, being an individual and seeking out the best for yourself. Wanting reliability, technology and customer service. If you have ever read The Relentless Pursuit, you will understand what Lexus is about. (Or was, not sure how much they have kept to their values)
  4. Is it speed dependant? When I swap the cars over in the drive or drive from the gatehouse at work to the car park I don't bother with the seatbelt but there is no alarm. However speed is less than 10 mph. That's in a 300h but I don't think it will be different on the 200T.
  5. Very nice. Good to see some colour. Not the usual black, grey, white.
  6. Is it the order that the files were put on the HDD? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Set up Navigation System time Toggle daylight saving off and on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. When you program a route it tells you the expected time of arrival. On the way home this evening it said I would arrive before I set off.! There once was a man called Bright, Who could travel much faster than light, He set off on day, In a relative way, And arrived back the previous night.
  9. My CT used to have a limitation of 255 files in a folder any more would not show up. Maybe if you split them up into smaller folders it may help.
  10. Ok so I will probably get told to read the manual, but how do you set the time on the SatNav (Lexus Navigation, not the Premium Navigation). I have been through the menus and can't find anything. It's not obvious. Thanks
  11. Interesting. Doing a quick survey from my window of a typical residential street in Cheshire, I can see 13 hatchbacks, 6 SUV (including 2 X5s), 5 estates (including a 5 series and an A4), 4 cabriolets, one MPV and one saloon. Admittedly, this is not the typical executive car territory, but based on that why would Lexus make so many saloons and not offer an estate? Mine is also the only hybrid.
  12. Looks nice. I wold buy one. Always had a hatchback or estate up until the IS300h. Was a bit concerned to have a boot for the first time due to the loss of flexibility. The NX does not do it for me. Don't like the SUV thing. So I would be interested in an estate version of the IS. But I don't think the market is big enough to warrant it. Wife has a Jazz so if we need to carry anything big we can use that. Seriously then Jazz is huge inside. Too big for a "Super mini"
  13. Hi, sounds nice post some picks when you can. The wipers take a bit of getting used to. There is a button on the end of the right stalk to put auto wipers on and off. When they are on there is a green led that is lit on the stalk. The sensitivity can be changed by the dial on the stalk. Push up once and the wipers do a wipe but it stays in auto. Flick the stalk down once (it returns to the position like the indicators) and it changes to intermittent down again on slow, down again on fast. Flick up and it goes from fast to slow etc. Best to keep them in auto with green led showing and adjust sensitivity via the dial. Hope that helps. Paul
  14. Great review. It would be nice to see a review from the point of a passenger in the back. Saw your review of the 5 series where you said they had programmed a jerk to simulate gear changer. Hmm! Why would you want that when you can have a silky smooth CVT.
  15. I got an average of 51 over two years on the CT. getting 45 over three winter months on the IS so expect a drop but not much. Don't forget it will cost an extortionate £10 to tax and servicing is more expensive too. However the ride is much better. It's more refined, loads more power, better toys, the chassis is better. Don't just think about it. Go for a test drive but expect to come away having ordered one. Just a question. What attracts you to the f sport? It's the same engine with harder suspension. The only difference I can see is the looks.
  16. Disadvantages of the IS over the CT No rear wash wipe Satnav not as good (I had the built in TomTom on the CT) No spare wheel or space for one Advantages of the IS over the CT Too many to list You won't regret it. Paul
  17. Tha A34 has a lot of cameras on. One benefit of the A51 is there are no fixed cameras. However there was a speed van hiding in one of the villages las week. Just another bit of fun. Can you get down to the new speed limit without braking.
  18. I have recently been working in Stone. I drive down from mid Cheshire each day. To start with I went down the M6 a few junctions but I don't like motorways, they are boring and full of Lorries. So I thought I would try the A51 from Nantwich to Stone. It takes a bit longer but is a much nicer drive. It's more interesting and much less traffic. You just have to watch out for the kamikaze pheasants. I also find it more economical, 53 mpg instead of 50 mpg on the motorway. The car really seems to work well on the twisty, hilly roads. The hybrid system can be used to good effect and the chassis is great in the corners. It's a great car to drive. Try finding an alternative route to the motorway and start enjoying driving again. (But don't all jump on the A51, I found it first)

  20. You do know that there is a heater in the IS & CT ? Yes but I think my Climate Control is playing up. I keep pressing the snow button but it never starts to snow.
  21. Hi Alex, I'm in PM me your details. Paul.
  22. Try normal mode. I never found Eco mode made a difference.
