Just had to fix my drivers side last week, the passenger side went last year. Electrolytic corrosion it looks like to me but could be wrong. Just fitted a large washer over the hole and all ok for now. I asked them to check them at the last service in September but they said they were ok. Whether they did check them or not I don’t know. New heat shields were about £90 each I think from lexuspartsdirect. I’ll see how the washers go for now.

Test report on LBX
Bob99 replied to DavidCM's topic in Lexus LBX Owners Club - The All-New Lexus LBX
I’ve started looking for something to replace my is300 I have had for 10 years. Drawn up a similar list to everybody else. LBX, CHR, Corolla, CX 30, Honda Civic Quite liked the LBX but expensive in Takumi spec, CHR not sure about the interior and not a fan of flush door handles. Liked the CX 30 in Takumi spec but mate has just got one and it seems a bit thirsty. Civic similar size to my IS but not sure the build quality is as good as the doors felt a bit tinny. There are compromises to be had with all of them from boot size that will fit golf clubs and trolley in to rear seat space and dealer proximity. Out of all of them my favourite is my IS300 it’s a shame Lexus stopped it as a modern version would probably have been my choice. -
Windscreen wiper fault

Hi Graham, glad you sorted it, unusual for a wiper motor to fail these days though. -
Windscreen wiper fault
Bob99 replied to Taximeister's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Had this a few years ago on mine. There is a thread about it on here somewhere where have also reported my problem. Mine would stop in any position on the screen and would only work manually. Lexus wanted £85 just to investigate. I bought a couple of denso relays off eBay for about £6. Exchanged the intermittent one and not had a problem since. denso relay 90987-04004 The relays are located below the brake fluid reservoir. Under the black cover are 4 relays 2 for the wipers and 2 for the abs I think. The relays are available from lexuspartsdirect but they are expensive on there so you might want to look around as they are a common part. You’ll only need one I would think as it would be strange for both to be faulty. You also could swap the relays round to see if it cures the fault but creates one in the other wiper mode. Bob -
I am told at every service that mine has expired, I think they last 5 years. I bought a space saver from Lexus quite a few years ago and carry it in a tyre cover in the boot. It does take up space but I still have room for golf clubs and electric trolley so I am happy with that.

I’ve kicked the can down the road after signing up with plusnet for 18 months in December. I could still upgrade at anytime and maybe move to A&A for voip. We had no internet for a time yesterday due to plusnet DNS issues but my son who is on plusnet full fibre across the road was ok so it only affected FTTC.

Serviced by Toyota
Bob99 replied to GJKelly1810's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
I had mine serviced at my local Toyota a couple of years ago after the pandemic as it was due a full service and I had only covered a few thousand miles since the service before, Lexus wanted their ‘arm and a leg’ where as Toyota only wanted the ‘leg’. I have had the brake pads and discs replaced by them and also the air con rebased. The dealership is only 5 minutes away and is the same group as my normal Lexus dealership 30 miles away. My last services have been back at Lexus due to the relax warranty though. The service record is updated online by Toyota as well. -
Available on Amazon for £24.49 if anyone is interested. Useful for tpms etc

IS300h F-Sport Tyre choice and TPMS advice
Bob99 replied to Ken83's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Hi Ken, not sure who about the origins of lexuspartsdirect. I also programmed my tpms with my Carista dongle which is really easy to do. -
IS300h F-Sport Tyre choice and TPMS advice
Bob99 replied to Ken83's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I had Michelin pilot sport 5s fitted and I am very pleased with them quieter and softer than my previous asymmetric 5s. I replaced all the tpms at the same time due to the age of the car. I bought them from lexuspartsdirect. Think the original denso ones are available on eBay possibly cheaper. -
Bike Rack for IS300h
Bob99 replied to Gaurav Bhandari's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Thanks for the pictures Dess, glad to see you finally got it fitted. Amazing that the problems you encountered were from Lexus! I’ll have a look and measure the holes on mine and see if they are similar. -

Bike Rack for IS300h
Bob99 replied to Gaurav Bhandari's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Hi Dess, have you fitted the rack to your car yet. I have been thinking of buying the Cruz rack just for occasional use carrying ladders etc. do the clamps fit ok above the doors as that is my concern they will mark the paintwork -
If you take it to a local tyre fitter they would probably break the bead and compress the tyre enough to fit the sensor. Probably cost similar to a puncture repair which at my local fitter is £10. I wouldn’t even think of doing it myself.
-
Have recently replaced mine, bought them from lexuspartsdirect and programmed them myself with Carista.
-
I bought my sensors from lexuspartsdirect Dave, probably not the cheapest as I think the denso ones can be found on eBay etc. I gave them to my wheel refurbishers and told them which wheel to fit them and used Carista to programme them, I actually did this before they were fitted. When I picked the car up I just had to reset the tyre pressure switch to stop the light flashing on the dash. You can buy Carista for about £30 with a month’s subscription I think.

Had a full alignment done on the last set of tyres and they were all evenly worn when changed this time. I think ATS and protyre have offers on at the moment. I got mine from Camskill as they were being fitted by the wheel refurbishes. I also changed the tpms sensors as they were coming up to 10 year old
-
Just fitted 4 new Michelin pilot sport 5 and I am impressed with ride quality and noise. Previously had Goodyear eagle assymetric 3 and 5 which lasted quite well and were very good, probably a bit noisier than the new ones, changed them due to cracking and was getting the wheels refurbed at the same time but I was happy with them.

SD card Sat Nav upgrade
Bob99 replied to Eddie Green's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Probably depends on what your existing system is, my car has the micro sd card fitted so was just a straight forward swap, and yes you need to have the engine on while updating. I just followed the instructions that the car told me do. I inserted the sd card and then turned on, think I turned off and on again when instructed. Everything is the same as before with maps updated to latest version and speed limits correct including speed camera alerts. Came home late last night and there was an M61 closure due to roadworks and it correctly guided me to the M6 not sure if the old system would have done -
SD card Sat Nav upgrade
Bob99 replied to Eddie Green's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Recently bought one from satnavishop, delivered quickly and updated within 10 minutes. Very happy for £35. Mine was the micro so card -
Looks like the sensor may have gone. I have just had my wheels refurbed and new tyres fitted that’s why I changed the sensors as they were 10 years old and didn’t want to have to change one due to a battery failure in the near future. If ATS broke one when changing your tyres and fitted another sensor they might think the system will learn the id of the new sensor but don’t think that is the case with Lexus because they need to be programmed with Carista as you know. I’d take it back and get them to check the sensor
-
I would check all your tyres are at the right pressure then do a reset with the switch below the steering column. Not easy to find but have ignition on and keep pressed until tpms light flashes. I have just renewed my sensors and even though I had programmed the new ones with Carista they needed resetting when I got in the car.

Discs & Brake pads - OEM or?

Discs more than pads. Discs were heavily lipped and looked pretty poor -
Discs & Brake pads - OEM or?
Bob99 replied to Jose DS's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Just had mine done at 73k miles by Toyota. Lexus were just over £800 for discs and pad all round, but then it also meant a 70 mile round trip. Toyota were 5 mins away and the same dealer group (vantage) they charged £625 and were done in a morning. They fitted Jurid which I believe are OE on some bmw so seem ok. They have been ok in the short time I’ve had them but getting my wheels refurbished so don’t have my car at the moment, so will know more when I get it back
