  1. Hi Fraser, Just an update on my situation. I’ve been in touch with my Lexus dealer and he has given me a quote of around £140 for replacement and programming of the sensor which I don’t find too excessive relative to Lexus normal prices, they’ve also quoted about £280 for two rear tyres again a little more than I can get locally but not too bad. As I want to get them changed at the service I’ll probably go with their quote.
  2. Hi Fraser Lexus parts direct have the sensor for £75 you could buy one and take it to your local tyre centre and have them fit it the issue then is programming it I’m sure some tyre places could programme it. The other option is try Toyota for programming. I know you said you are not tech minded but if you have a family member who is you could try the Carista OBD that along with the app can reprogramme tpms sensors they are £25 with 30 days free full use of the app. I am in the same boat soon, my wheels were refurbed at a Lexus body shop years ago and a year or so later when I changed tyres the fitter found the sensor stuck to the inside of the wheel. They are now due for changing again and I want a new sensor fitted so I am looking at my options as well. I will see what my Lexus dealer quotes and also Toyota. I’ve put a link below for the sensor lexus-rx-phase-4-tyre-pressure-monitoring-sensor.html
  3. Interesting to see the faults found on this is250 after being left unused for 18 months and seeing it running again
  4. Recently had mine topped up at the local Toyota dealership for £59.99. Nice and cool again.
  5. Think I had a glitch before I took it in, the questions they ask are, have you run out of petrol and do you leave it in neutral. Both questions come from the troubleshooting quide. My answers were both no. I did however move my car slightly and just as I switched it off the engine fired up. I think this caused the ecu to presume I had run out of petrol. That is the only reason I can think off for the problem and it hasn’t been a problem since.
  6. I had the same problem with my hybrid battery a couple of years ago where the ecu had been cleared. Ran the car for 500 miles or so and hybrid check was back to normal as Colin said above. Not had a problem since.
  7. Keep being told at my services and recent health check that my kit is out of date (2019). I carry a space saver spare which takes up a bit of boot space but can’t see the point of replacing the repair kit as I will never use it.
  8. These are the ECP parts I’ve have used twice now and have been very good 485778246 - 24 inch 485778186 - 18 inch
  9. Didn’t ask as they only told me when I was paying my bill. If they had said earlier I might have told them to change them if they were a reasonable price.
  10. Thanks Colin, just had my air con regassed today at Toyota and the vehicle health check mentioned the wipers were split and as ECP is just round the corner picked them up from there and fitted when I got home. Job sorted.
  11. For anyone who is interested eurocarparts have 45% off. Just renewed my wipers for OEM denso blades for £23, not quite as good as the £17 I paid last time but ok all the same
  12. You could contact Tpms warehouse in Oswaldtwistle they do a range of makes and models and can configure them for you if you have the original code. Not used them but at least they are local.
  13. Just waiting for the annual repair of our vaillant boiler. It’s nearly 8 years old and out of warranty now. It has required something repairing since it was new with a number of water leaks requiring buckets underneath it, luckily all covered by the warranty. It has been serviced annually as required by the warranty but as the services are quite basic nothing is ever found faulty until it fails again a couple of months later. Might be time to cut my losses and look for a replacement
  14. I have also a problem with losing the hybrid data. A couple of years ago my car failed the hybrid health check, I was asked if I had run out of fuel at some point and also if I had left the car in neutral both of which my answer was no. These are stock questions from the manual. After the build up of mileage again it was tested and all was fine but I was still trying to understand the reason. It came to me a few weeks after, I wanted to move my car a couple of feet to get behind it. I started the car and moved it to the new position, the car was running on electric. I stopped and pressed the start/stop button just as the engine fired, I waited a little then pressed the start button again everything was ok so let the engine run a little then turned it off, I didn’t think anything off it. I think the quick shutdown caused the computer system to believe the engine had run out of fuel, I am always careful now if I have to do a quick manoeuvre and sometimes will wait for the engine to fire.
  15. Over 7 years at the moment out of mine. Since the lockdowns started I have charged it a couple of times, at other times I sit in the car when my wife is in the supermarket with the engine on to give it a boost.
  16. Would removing the sd card before powering up do anything. It may ask you then to insert it and reboot the system.
  17. I have seen a picture of the fuse box and there is an ecu acc fuse, could that be an ‘accessories’ fuse. Might be worth a check.
  18. Sorry I know this response is late BUT here is the fix for this. I too had this happen twice. The first time my car sat for a couple of weeks and again yesterday after I had a new battery put in. Everyone at the dealership could not fix it. Even Lexus said they had never heard of this happening (though you see it on several threads). The first time this happened another dealership ended up unplugging my radio and plugging it back in. They thought it was a loose connection. Yesterday they didn't have time to do the same fix so I went home with a black navigation screen (though my radio, climate and etc. worked). I was told I probably needed a new radio to be installed which didn't make sense to me. I actually think it's a software bug or safety thing that is keeping the screen from turning on. I was told I'd have to go to the dealership to get them to reboot the radio but I found an easier way that I hope can help someone in the future if this happens to them. Here is how to reboot the navigation/display screen: 1. Remove the battery terminals for positive and negative 2. Leave the battery unplugged for 30 minutes to an hour (may actually require less time but this is how long we waited) 3. Press the Start button once to turn on the accessory/battery mode (DO NOT HAVE YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND START THE CAR). *If you start the car the screen will still remain black and you will have to start over 4. Press the PWR/VOL button to turn on the Radio 5. The display screen will light up and show a progress bar showing it is loading the information from the SIM card. Once this completes the system will reboot and the display will light up as normal. Found the above rayaans, so leaving it for a long time like are going to do may work. Nothing to lose by this method anyway. Hope it works
  19. A few of us have had this problem Jason and a replacement wiper relay cured the fault. Not sure if yours is the same fault as you seem to be looking at the wiring side. Initially I would remove the wiper relays (there are two of them) located in a black box by the brake reservoir, clean the contacts and try them again. I’ve had the same problem and after changing the INT wiper relay everything was ok. eBay usually have a few for sale cheaply.
  20. I think Tpms warehouse can pre programme the sensors for you with the original ident. Have a look on their website.
  21. I’m running with Goodyear eagle assymetric 3, my original Bridgestones all wore on the inner edges. Had a full alignment check and adjustment at its service last year and all tyres are wearing evenly now. The rears have been on three years and 25000 miles and have 4mm left. So not too bad. Good grip in both dry and wet and not too noisy.
  22. I have the mark levinson system and also find you get repeats when selected to random I just press next like the others. It also appears to work in blocks of artists as well.
  23. Hi Tony, the relays are both the same. I would try the relay you have taken out in place of the relay you haven’t changed first. I bought two but only fitted one as it solved the problem straight away.
