  1. For those looking to change once their present cars are few years old, but not wanting to go for brand new, it may be worthwhile keeping a lookout in the future for sales such as this one from Lexus Scotland. http://www.lexusscotland.co.uk/demo-sale/
  2. Thinking about extending the warranty to 5 years and then looking at trading it in around then, that's is unless some super dooper offer comes along..
  3. You never know, maybe a rubber fetish
  4. That's a bummer, I looked at the black interior but thought it was just too dark and felt claustrophobic, ended up going for the light grey leather. Nice and bright, but you still have the black accents. As Martin said, call their bluff and you could also check out Autotrader and see what is available nationwide and use this as leverage.
  5. I get my wife to give it instructions, no one dares to ignore her...
  6. Check out the Sewells Lexus site in Texas, you can get colour matched side body mouldings etc to save you from all those car park dings. £300 for 4 door mouldings, 4 door edge strips, 2 front alloy sill plates with Lexus logo and a rear bumper protection strip, price was for shipping and all import taxes. There should be a couple of pics in a previous posting from me. http://is.sewellparts.com/parts-catalog/IS250-2014.html
  7. Ouch, that'll knock a hole in your wallet. Not due for a service yet, but I'm still waiting on Lexus Edinburgh giving me the info on their service plans. So far they have said that they will send the details, but 3 months on and I'm still waiting. As others have said, I would be on the look out for a non franchised garage with a good reputation.
  8. Got the heated and ventilated seats on mine and it's either Chilly Willy or a Hot Botty !!
  9. Exact same colour as the car, different name in the U.S. but the same paint code.
  10. Managed to fit the body side mouldings straight and the door edge guards. I was a bit wary of making a mess and getting them out of line, but everything worked out O.K. I also added new door sill trims for a little bit of bling. Next job when the weather is nice is to get the rear bumper clear protective film stuck on. All these items were from Sewell Lexus in Dallas USA, came to £300 all in including import taxes.
  11. just waiting on my dear employer coughing up 3 years unpaid allowance and then I'll be settling up with Lexus Finance.
  12. Rich, for the actual payment options, I was going down the trade in plus pay the balance straight away but was persuaded by the dealer to take the balance on a personal lease type of purchase. I wasn't too keen as I don't like paying things up for years on end, but with this type of purchase the dealer made a down payment contribution of £1750 and I can pay off the balance completely whenever I like with no early payment penalties.
  13. Sent an enquiry to 2 places near by asking if the plastic wrap would stick O.K. onto SUPAGARD treated paint, no reply from either, so obviously they've just had a share in the lottery and don't need the business. Maybe just go with the CQUARTZ treatment instead. 8 days left till I get behind the wheel..
  14. just as well that they are mostly covered in protective plastic during the shipping process which would go a long to to safeguard the paintwork.Down to 20 days till I get behind the wheel of mine..
  15. I have been trawling through the intenet looking for mudflaps and things like that to help keep stone chips etc at bay and found these items. The rear bumper strip is very cheap compared to the U.K. Lexus item and could be viable even when taking shipping and other costs into account. The Body Side Mouldings look good and I think I will check out the paint codes to see if they match. Also, the Door Edge Guards might just be a possibility as well. Body Side Mouldings http://is.sewellparts.com/accessories-catalog/Exterior/IS250-2014/6464.html Rear Bumper Protection Film http://is.sewellparts.com/accessories-catalog/Exterior/IS250-2014/6274.html Door Edge Guards http://is.sewellparts.com/accessories-catalog/Exterior/IS250-2014/6359.html Just a shame that I only have a 2 hour stopover in JFK.
  16. Do you have PCS ?Simple way to find out, but it could be an expensive lesson. Oops !!!
  17. I would be looking at the levelling sensors as advised above. If the compressor was knackered, then you'd probably be dragging your exhaust along the ground.
  18. Need to check and see if I need to change my name to Chilly Willy ..
  19. make sure that both the AC matrix and radiator core is not partly blocked with leaves, paper or any other muck. Try giving them a good wash, not a pressure wash, but using a hosepipe. Wash them out from both directions, thru the grille and from the engine side. Also, if you can disconnect the top and bottom hoses and then see how the water flows thru the radiator using the hose on max flow. Make sure you fill up with the proper antifreeze and bleed the system if it needs it.
  20. Try checking the radiator for airflow through it. May be O.K. without the AC running, but once the AC starts up, it puts a lot of heat into the airflow in front of the radiator, hence the reason for the electric fan being required to kick in as soon as the AC comes on.
  21. Does anyone know where IS300h ones can be obtained, I've searched all over the internet, but can't seem to find anyone doing them. Thanks
  22. Got to do a little trip from work PAP-JFK-LHR-EDI for a sanity break. Oh the joys of the jet setting lifestyle..
  23. The GT is my sons car, mother will not go Marks and Sparks in that, hence the Lexus..
  24. Now I just have to wait another 35 days until I can get behind the wheel. Bummer !!
  25. Not to go off topic or hijack the thread, but Tinka you can squeeze a bit more out of the deal if you leave it to the end of sales quarter, and especially if it's a quiet time for sales. Targets have to be met..
