  1. Malcolm, it's easy to tuck the power cable in under the front edge of the headliner and down behind the front pillar trim. If you route it to the passenger side, you can hide most of the cable inside the panel below the glove box and then round to the cig lighter. If you go for hard wiring, the fuse box is at the passenger side footwell, but you need to be a contortionistwith your head in the footwell just to be able to see the box. I don't think you can use a fuse tap as there is very little space in the fuse box cover.
  2. The best oil filter tool I've ever used was a Snap-On one. It used a 12" fabric strap similar to a piece of seat belt which was fed thru a self tightening buckle which you turned with a ratchet etc. The harder you turned it, the tighter it gripped the filter body. I've even used it on hydraulic rams. Snap-On don't seem to make it any more, but you can easily make something similar by getting a bolt, 5-6" long it probably needs to be around 1/2 or 5/8 diameter. Using two blades in a hacksaw, cut from the end of the bolt towards the hex head to enable an old piece of seat belt to be slotted in to make a loop. Double hacksaw blades will give you a wide enough slot to take the two thicknesses of belt. Put the loop round the filter, hold the fabric belt and turn the bolt so the belt tightens and you can loosen the filter.
  3. Not too sure what the latest is, but I updated mine to "c" a while back and then Lexus Edinburgh updated it to the supposedly latest version. They installed version "c" !!. Darwin has left the building and Homer Simpson has taken his place..
  4. Wondering if anyone else has the same thing with the catches for the rear seat back rests. It looks as though they are anodised or similar and the coating has started to corrode.
  5. Mine came with carpet mats and didn't even ask for them, no protection pack as I sourced a load of stuff from the U.S.
  6. You'll end up being slagged off in the Speak EV forum..
  7. Thanks for the confirmation, I'll give them a dig on it and at the same time get them to correct the mileage recorded at the time of service. It's 4229mls not 50860 !!!
  8. Michael, have a search on the U.S. Lexus dealer sites and see if they do international shipping. I got a bumper strip, door edge protectors and some other items from a dealer who shipped them here.
  9. BB, was there any charge for the update ? . I had mine in for its 1st service today and mentioned it when dropping the car off. I got the story of the parts dept had to order a USB, download the software and then it would take a couple of hours to install. I also got the impression that I would be charged for this.. Seems strange as I updated to version D myself about 6 months ago and it took around 10 mins to upload from the USB. What's your take on this ??
  10. I'm thinking about getting the kit of plugs, adhesive and installation tools that can be picked up cheaply. If you can see where the hole is, install a plug and use the compressor to re-inflate the tyre to get you home or to a tyre shop.
  11. I'm 62 and today is my first day of official retirement.. My wife who is couple of years younger announced after the last visit to the Lexus dealer that she loved the RX and thinks I should look for another job so we can get one. Now looking for something in Mogadishu..
  12. I reckon I would go ahead and change them just to be on the safe side. Just think of the extra cost if something went twang !!
  13. Where would Bruce Jenner fit into this topic if he drove a Lexus IS300h ??
  14. That's a rather nasty comment considering the cat is not causing any damage or problem.. You may want to reconsider what you posted.
  15. Amit, check out my post in the IS300h forum from a few months back. I fitted a front and rear one with no trouble, but still need to get it hard wired to the power.
  16. Wow, I remember as a young apprentice working on the Mk IV Zephyrs and Zodiacs. Open the bonnet, remove the spare wheel and then climb in beside the engine..
  17. Happened to me. The car was left for about 3 hours, I came back and nothing??, used the metal key to get into the boot and found the battery terminals were loose. Gave them a thump and then got Lexus to tighten my nuts...
  18. Did you try a screenshot of the page ?
