  1. Wait until you drive it in the rain, the glass coating is amazing, 70 mph in heavy rain and hardly needed the wipers.
  2. My engine starts up after reversing about 10 feet un a very slight slope, not tried it with the HVAC set to off though.
  3. Jag, as Cracksta has said, moving off without pressing the throttle in a diesel is pretty normal due to the torque developed at low revs. Also, slipping it out of gear without pressing the clutch is an easy thing to do with most cars provided there is no load on the gears, i.e. cruising along with no acceleration or deceleration.
  4. I had the Koche Chemie 1k nano applied to the paintwork and was very impressed with the finish and how easy it is to clean. I also applied the Gtechniq stuff to the windows, makes a huge difference when driving in the wet..
  5. No rust on the discs, the noise happens whether they are clean, minor surface rust, hot or cold. The noise seems to be a very very low frequency vibration. I'll see if I can record it and post it so folks can compare it to their cars.
  6. Now that's a heck of a lot of rust there...
  7. Mine is exactly the same. My previous IS 300 was the same as well. During the service on that one Lexus managed to improve it considerably so I will mention it next year on this cars first service as its not important enough to take it in now. Mine is exactly the same. My previous IS 300 was the same as well. During the service on that one Lexus managed to improve it considerably so I will mention it next year on this cars first service as its not important enough to take it in now. Got exactly the same thing with my brakes, they grunt and groan as they are slowly released. Had it in to the dealers twice and they cleaned and lubed the pads, made little or no difference. Don't know which makes the most noise, the brakes or my stomach when I'm hungry..
  8. Not had the Windows going down, but a couple of times I've opened the boot by something pressing on the button..
  9. How about 5/8 plywood glued to the floor and then topped off with heavy duty checker plate patterned plastic that COSTCO are selling.
  10. Tony, I managed to get front and rears thru the official Lexus site on EBAY. If they don't list the fronts, drop them a line and they can order them for you..
  11. John, here is a link for corrosion on the rear seat backrest catches, plus I also noticed the other day that the nut securing the 12v battery in the boot has similar corrosion/discolouration. Is this anything like your problem. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/101834-rear-backrest-catches-corroding/
  12. David, take the service plan at the price offered and then hit them with the LOC discount if you can. That should knock another hundred odd off the price if you can twist their arms..
  13. Very sloppy. Instead of getting a PDI, Pre Delivery Inspection it must have been a CBA, Can't Be Arsed..
  14. As Stephen mentioned, I think there is a possible cure by fitting a ferrite magnet around the power cable.
  15. No doubt you will be having a deep and meaningful conversation with the "professional" car audio installers ??.
  16. Nice, same colour as mine, but I've got the common or garden wheels on the luxury.
  17. Not sure on the CT, but there will probably be two boxes. One under the bonnet and one inside the car. The one inside on the IS is just a small oblong white plastic lid that easily pops off, but the one under the bonnet is secured by a couple of spring clips and one or two other clips that need pushing to the side to release them.
  18. Robin, remember that you might not get the fuse box cover back on if you use the fuse tap. I was going to do that to mine, but it would have left the uncovered fuse box and wires right above the passengers feet.
  19. Jings, thats a good price but I hope it doesn't give you problems in the future with warranty etc
  20. Of course all the different weather patterns, tyre and suspension set ups can all go straight out the window if there is a loose nut behind the steering wheel
  21. Just give them a very gentle clean round the edges with an old toothbrush. That should get a lot of the dirt out.
  22. David, if you have the forum gold membership, then you should be able to get between 10-15% off the price of the services. Ceramic paint protection, I eventually got Koch Chemie 1k nano applied to the paintwork. Much better than Supagard and it only worked out at £200 which included a machine polish first. Paintwork is now as smooth as silk, well worth it.
  23. Looks a bit like one of these electric vibrating implements for men . Another way of having a selfie I suppose..
