  2. Well said And as i said i will be taking mine out Tomorrow and a 30K service in the Next month
  3. As i said you dont have to deal with Third party Just one question which i would like clearing up before i buy the Lexus one tomorrow I was Told the conditions of the warranty are you have to have the Car serviced By a LEXUS Dealer, which i find quite strange, as i thought all that was stopped by the European Trading law, you did not have to have the car serviced by the cars main agent, as long as it was a reputable Dealer/service centre using Genuine parts. Can anyone confirm this if they have an extended Warranty Book. Regards Matt
  4. Hardly, all of the Tesco warranty plans exclude what they call 'prestige' cars. Lexus is on their excluded list Just checked with Tesco, Lexus IS200, 7 years old £339 (standard Cover). Mazda 6MPS (AWD + Turbo), 3 years old £419 (finest cover) From what I've read the Tesco Finest cover seems to be as comprehensive as any other. What does the lexus one offer that makes it worth paying £200 more for? You dont have to deal witha third party to get them to pay if the car goes wrong and you have extended Manufacturer warranty it is in the dealers intrest to get the warranty passed as they get paid for it and if they said no its not covered you could well within your rights take the Car away from them and get it done cheaper elsewhere. wheras the Warranty from A N Other company, YOU will have to do the chasing for payment. So you pay main mealer then claim it back. ok you might not need it but i would rather be covered by main agent warranty than AN Other Co
  5. But the Lexus warranty would cover that if it failed on an MOT The Lexus warranty states that if the car failes due to a Part then it will be replaced or so they have told me I am thinking of going for it just for peace of Mind, and it does come with Full RAC Cover and Recovery and Home start for My Car and the Wifes, which usually is around £140 a year i have looked on Warranty direct, but the price is around the same, as i would have to also take out a Recovery package, and the Green flag version is around £90.00 for a similar thing to the RAC, The warranty direct works out at £492.00 paid over 12 months, then the Recovery on top. also reading in to the warranty direct it does not seem to cover things like the Multimedia system where the Lexus one does, i know its a personal choice thing, and all i have had happen is little warranty issues except leaking water pump, so if that happens again it will be probably cost around £300 notes to fix at dealer Matt

  7. Hello I have a 220D SE and was quoted From Lexus Bham £192.00 for a 30K service is that good or not and i never mentioned Lexus Gold i am also looking to take out the Extra Year Warranty which i know seems like a lot of Money at £665 notes, but it also includes a Full Rac Membership which will also cover the wifes Car so i dont think it is that bad. I looked at warranty direct but decided i would rather be covered by the Dealer Matt

  11. Hello Chatting with Dealer today and My IS220D will be getting two recalls in the post I am told it is all down to chassis number 1) steering problem some joint can cause the steering to stiffen up They have been advised to test and replace if they feel it needs to be replaced but would you like to be the technician saying No this is OK, i guess they will replace them all . 2) Rear brakes shim kit, as they have found the Rear pads can seize or wear uneven So i await the letters Matt
  12. Looking at the other Links I see this being a BIG problem also reading that News from China 120k cars recall O MY God :tsktsk: Do you think TOYOTA who Own LEXUS will do a major recall in Europe or just wait to see when people get the problem so it might not cost them as much in the long term.
  13. just found this on the net But iwas started in December in China so who knows it does say they do not know if the same models would be recalled in other countries ?? QUOTE BEIJING - Toyota Motor Corp. has issued a recall for more than 120,000 cars in China to fix a problem that could result in loss of steering control, China's quality watchdog said Thursday in the latest piece of bad news for the Japanese automaker. Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., a joint venture between Toyota and China's FAW Group, will recall 121,930 vehicles beginning Friday, according to a notice on the Web site of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. The notice said the recalled models include Crown and Reiz luxury sedans produced between 2005 and 2006, and Lexus cars produced between 2004 and 2006. The agency said that manufacturing defects could cause the electric power steering systems to fail. It was not clear if the same models would be recalled in other countries. Toyota officials in Japan could not immediately be reached for comment late on Thursday. Toyota will contact owners of the affected vehicles, conduct checks and replace defective parts without charge, the Chinese agency said. The notice did not say if any accidents have resulted from the defects. The recall announcement was the latest in a string of bad news for Japan's No. 1 automaker. On Monday, the company said it was sinking into its first operating loss in seven decades. Then Wednesday, Toyota reported that global vehicles sales had plunged 21.8 percent in November — its biggest drop in eight years.

  22. Everything depeciates in a recession and that is the gamble, we Buy cars & Houses when it is going great, but then complain when the markets crash, maybe we should do the reverse logic and Buy everything now and encourage the market to grow, then when it gets great again stash all your money in a bank account and make loads. but maybe not Why do we let the Media talk us in a recession ?? all you here from ITN/TVAM is doom and Gloom Maybe we should all turn the TV off from News channels Matt
