  1. Done the brakes last night used Bluepoint Discs (which i think are OEM) and Mintex pads £130.00 all in fitted also have a workshop manual Handy thing
  2. Really nice looking car but i did just notice is there only 2 seats in the back ? not good for a family of 2 adults n 3 children then oh well i will take this off the shopping list Matt
  3. i will have to whip the pads out at the weekend but it is strange they are both identical. LH & RH side front. i will try and upload pics wonder if i did find anything Lexus would cover it under warranty. as it seems strange they are both identical, and i dont think two stones would get in the same place that would be like winning the lottery.
  4. Hello all I noticed the other day both front Brake discs have a perfect score mark around them, about 1/2" from top of the disc car has done 38K mainly Motorway. There is no scrapping noise when the brakes are applied Strange thing anyone else had this happen or is it alien Crop Circles on my discs. or another way for the Big T to make you buy Pads & Discs when i look through the wheel at the pad in the caliper they look to have some meat left on them so i am puzzled as to what it is Regs Matt
  5. The rear lights are not silver its the way the camera has taken the picture they are the new look rear lights as the car has been in production since 2005 they needed to do some slight cosmetic adjustments to keep the customers happy. I like the new lights with the L shape reverse lights and the new wing mirrors with repeters on them Nice looking car Mate and the wheels really set it off also the Porsche at the side sets it off well :winky: regards Matt and dont listen to all the moaners saying the diesel is rubbish and it cannot be that bad cus they still make and sell them. Also you will be getting a better return on fuel than them as Diesel is 1p cheaper now than unleaded.
  6. Hello I have two phones one for work and personal and both sync fine the first is the Nokia N95 on Vodafone contract (work phone) and my own is the Blackberry 8120 on Orange Pay as you go. the good thing is i can select which one i want to use in the car as i think you can sync about 6 phones with the MM system. and it is easy to select which one you want to use Matt
  7. the best thing to do is get a car on a three day test drive, zero the trip and bo your normal routes, the trip computer is very accurate and your own opinion is the one you should be listening to. Well mine is a very first one Registered DEC 30 2005 and i am pleased with it i am getting an AVG Fuel consumption of 40-42mpg which aint bad for the size and weight of the car and all this about BMWs and Audi doing 65-70mpg is a load a rubbish for the same car in its class the best i have done is about 560miles on 1 tank. 2 runs to work and back then to Paignton over to Barnstaple then back to Birmingham then just a bit of local driving. and Diesel is now either cheaper or the same in cost to petrol. so yes you will get a better MPG than the 250 the Road duty is cheaper than the 250. the Toys are just the same i have the 17" wheels and MM Leather seats I have never had a Fith injector fail but yes it has been replaced under warranty due to recall and i have never had any problems with steering locking up rear brakes seizing but again have been replaced under recall, which also the 250 has been recalled for i have 37k on the clock, it was the first diesel car i have owned, i had the is200 before (needed a fuel tanker following every few days to fill it up) i mainly do motorway driving to and from work about 47mile a day, and it drives fine, yes you have to get used to the gearing, but once you have it sorted it is for me a very nice Drive Matt
  8. Steve just PM me your email address as i have a workshop manual and i will send pages over showing how to remove Matt
  9. Hi. No worries at all, and thank you very much for the thread. :) I do not understand why or how I missed this. :tsktsk: I will look into this at Lexus this week and see if i can get a decent price! Greig Hello i have it fitted in mine it is ok but you will have to redo your ipod as you need your albums created as new playlists so it then looks at them as each CD rather than a load of songs May i suggest what i did keep the ipod touch for your dayto day use. and get hold of a ipod 20gb or 30gb ipod video (ithink they were called) or vesion 5 then create all your playlists on that then just leave that in the glove box pluged in to the lexus MM system works great for me, then every few months i bring it in connect to pc and add new content (making sure your itunes is set up to manually add music) or it might wipe everything. Regards Matt
  10. As steve says use water and shampoo then polish i use simonize wash n wax with warm water and a sponge then i use maguires carnuba wax to help protect them Doint use any acid based cleaner as they can harm the laquer on the wheel
  11. I have the extended warranty but bare inmind as part of the extended warranty the conditions are the car has to be serviced by Main dealer i had the 30k done just as i was getting the extended warranty but i know i will be due the 40k service within the next 3000miles any one got any prices for the 40k service on a 220d regards Matt ps contacted them recently regards a rattle from centre speaker housing and they said interior trim is not covered by the warranty but as i sad this is a known issue nothing to do with new complaint so they said they would look at it for me
  12. Well i put in £58. the other day and drove to East Devon then across to west and back home, also 2 days driving to work & back Have done 512 miles so far and i am still showing a range of 63miles. IS220d i was doing 70-80 on Motorway and it was saying avg 44.1 mpg. My MPG seems to get better & Better. Matt
  13. Hello well i took the gamble on the Bluetooth I purchaseda Blackberry Pearl 8120 Really nice Phone (except that suretype thing) which i have turned off and yes the phone syncs with the Multimedia on the IS Phew thank gawd not sure on transferring address book as my old address book is already in the car and that works with it Just thought i would let you all know
  14. Hello does anyone use a smartphone ie blackberry through the Multimedia system on the is220d/250 as my Nokia N95 syncs well and i dont want to go and get one then find out it dont work hands free through the bluetooth connection regs Matt
  15. but when i look at the Wheels on my Lex the Locking wheel nut looks like that (rusty) why did Lexus not do like they did on the 200, and put a cap over the locking wheel nut Regs Matt
  16. Hello Dont they look like a nice couple on the drive The Boat will not be just coming to the UK it will probably stop at south Africa or some where on route, then dock at Southampton or some go in to Bristol the company i work for place stock orders with TOYOTA dealers in Japan for Forklift Parts and they always take 8-12 weeks to deliver
  17. Welcome to the Club and enjoy the Ride when i was first looking for my IS200 i was told to look on here Wish i had not !! i must admit it did but me off a bit Gear box problems, ball joints, ignition switches, headlamp goldfish bowls, etc etc glad i went with my own judgement in the end And am i right i seen someone say there BMW320d is giving a return of 43MPG OMG thought all german cars gave a return of 70mpg :winky: Also it does seem strange about the oil as my Diesel dont even touch the oil between services and My old IS200 sport x reg i had before she went had 150k on the clock and it did not touch a drop of oil i swear the stick went in to a seprate oil tank as it never moved
  18. I think the reason why you dont get full 7 digit post codes the rights are owned by the Royal mail, and i am sure they (satnav Makers) would all have to pay royalties to our wonderful government i know TOMTOM originally had this problem but they must have sorted somthing out nudge nudge wink wink (most MPS now have a TOMTOM) regards Matt
  19. Just a thought what are you all using to clean them as my set are still fine 17" mothing major except a minor bit of Kerb damage, car has done 34K but i will not use a pressure washer on the wheels, neither will i use acid based cleaner to clean them all i use is simonize wash n wax, once or twice a month, but it could also be the water as the water in Birmingham is soft water (you can also top up your battery with our water) and we have no limescale so our kettles last for ever Matt
  20. I couldn't agree more. If you are worrying about how much the fuel costs then you shouldn't be in the car in the first place. Just fill the thing up and enjoy the car. Unless you've got the diesel of course. Oi not Every Diesel is S :tsktsk: T And i bet yer happy now your petrol is the same price as Diesel (unless your company pays for it)
  21. Lucky me just filled up i had 23 miles remaining and the Tank has just taken 57.83L at £1.00.9 per L (what ever happened to the 14p gap between petrol n Diesel) then gave me a range of 508 miles then i drove very good at 30mph & 40 and i was showing Tank ave 44.5MPG and overall i am showing 40.7 MPG if any mathamaticians want to work that out see if it is reading true IS220d Matt
  22. sorry to soft Daft but as this is the US service bulletin will it also cover the European Service side for the 250/220d, or does anyone have the european one Regards Matt
  23. Thank god we will not be seeing another premiership duel for the Champs Leauge final Well done Barca it should now be a good Final Sorry Chelsea but this cup is for the Elite in Europe and clubs esteamed with History in the competition :winky: Matt I will be supporting Barca
  24. Wow i am amazed at all the problems you seem to all get Mine is one of the first 220's reg Dec 30 2005 yes i have had the usuall recalls but Dare i say this (touch wood) i have never had an issue with a fith injector, or any other Engine related items i am getting around 41MPG now on latest tank (which i am happy with) I have taken out the Lexus extended warranty for Peace of mind I have a small issue at the moment with a rattle on centre speaker, problem with drivers side wing mirror glass & creeking from parcel shelf when warm called dealer and at first they said the extended warranty did not cover trim but as i pointed out these are known issues, so they told me to just call in and some one will go out with me. before they do anything. other than That i cannot fault it very comfortable nice drive, great toys Mark levinson Awesome and the rear parking camera Must have Maybe as mine was one of the first in Diesel (dare i say it) the took time when building it Matt
  25. Just found this post As i too have a annoying creaking (from around parcel shelf) during hot weather I also now have the centre speaker rattle on dash I also have the extended Warranty, i called dealer and was first told interior creaks and rattles are not covered by the warranty, So not happy, i asked why as this is not interior trim it is a manufacturing problem with these Is's Was then told to go and see them as they would have a look and see what could be done i will be taking this post with me to show that it is a known problem Ps i will have to go soon as the drivers side mirror has also gone misty from behind the glass had this happen to the passenger one too, and that was replaced. Matt
