  1. I used to get around 380 out of a tank of Fuel in my IS200 when i had it usually spent around 55-60. to fill it depending on time of year with fuel costs correct me if i am wrong does it have a 70L Tank so at 70L=380 miles for a 2.0L car that was not good for me Matt
  2. No, they want it for three days, so I need a car for about four days. That narrows the time frame for the booking considerably. I was waiting three weeks just to get it in and have a courtesy car for a day. Does anybody know a decent place in Kent I can take it to get the geometry done? Book a day off and Drive to Tony also you will save Money as it will not cost you £60 in fuel to get there and back and you know it will be done right I did it when i had my IS200 From Brum to Watford when Tony was there And i guess i might be back down soon as Lexus changed the steering rack and i want it correct. I.E Even tyre wear and make sure the steering wheel is perfect
  3. Robert how come they changed them after 3.5 years old i thought if out of warranty they dont replace them I have purchased the extended warranty, and it states they will not replace wheels I have also noticed one of them starting to bubble I have only just purchased the warranty as the car is just 3 Years old and has Full Lexus Service history 3 services 31 k on clock, I notice they still use the same company that made the IS200 wheels and they were a Std corrosion feature. Should i go and have it out with them (Dealer see if they will replace) Matt
  4. It is a chain here is the part number 1350626010 for mine on a 55 plated 220d
  5. hello Tried what you all said today and on AVG i was getting 39.8 Tank AVG but today 43.2 tank avg happy i am
  6. Hello yes you can buy it Mine is the IS220d but probably the same part number for mine is 53112-53010 Grille Radiator Lower PNC Code 53112E hope this helps if you want a picture pm me with Email address Regards Matt
  7. Don't believe this, when I first originally called up Lexus Leicester I was quoted £220 inc vat for a 30K service I was invoiced £169 (it included £42.50 refund for being overcharged on a set of disc pad , gold members discount 15% and vat) until then, I never really questioned this, until i realised that i put the original price i was quoted for online to see what other members have been quoted on the ownersclub £191.30 (£220 inc vat) -28.70 (15% Gold Members Discount) -42.50 (overcharged amount on previous work) +18.02 (vat) = £138.12. But now I've been told the service was £252.40, and that after gold members discount, refund its ..£169.41 Could i argue this? Dont know if it makes much difference but i paid £197.50 all in from Lexus Birmingham for a 220d 30K service and i never mentioned anything ref Gold Membership Regards Matt
  8. I don't think it is so hot. The parts are very cheap (for lexus/toyota) and the work expense is carried by the dealerships. The dealer will not do the work for nothing as they are just francise dealers in the UK Birmingham is part of the Sytner group(BMW,TOYOTA,LEXUS ETC ETC) so They will Charge Lexus GB for the Parts cost + small percentage & the Labour not at maximum rate, but definatley not Free, as each department is accountable Matt Ps i have noticed the steering is nice and responsive now and feels just like the 58 plate they gave me for the day, Ref brakes i have noticed nothing. But the Good thing is they noted my Straight steering wheel coment.
  9. Just spoken to lexus as my car is in on monday for a service, they said as i think has been said before that the steering rack and break calipers have a visual inspetion and then if they need changing they will if not they wont!! must be feeling very brave if they say no it doesnt need it and someone goes and wraps it round a tree a day or two later! some smart lawer will make a fortune out of that one! so am hoping they will change it. asked about the air con re-call and kind of skirted around it a little will find out more on monday as it does pong a bit sometimes. yeah i bet they will replace they did with mine, but then still said nothing would happen at high speed mmmmmm how do they know
  10. Had mine done Today At Lexus Birmingham New steering rack fitted New rear pads 1 Rear Caliper & a Shim Kit looks a bit weird with 1 new caliper and 1 old but i cannot complain too much dropped car in at 9 ish got phone call at 5 to say car ready by 5.30 wow how long to do it & how much would that cost Also got my Extended warranty from Lexus Today for the Next 12 months Have not really tested it yet as i was stuck in crappy traffic (if anyone knows Lexus Birmingham) near Fort shopping park one thing i did notice was the steering wheel was perfect centered (big pet hate ggrrrr) so i will know what the steering is like tomorrow when i take it on a good run Inc Motoway. Regs Matt PS Birmingham gave me a 58 plated 220d for the day and i did notice two things the gear box was like silk (could be its just new) and the main one wait for it ................................... i left them with 1/4 tank diesel with tank AVG 32.5mpg i travelled 23 mile to work did 6 mile towny dirving at lunchtime. and then23 mile back after work and the Tank Avg was 40.2 mpg, Hmmmmmmm i usually avg around 40ish MPG but never got it there that quick on just 1/4 Tank I did ask them in garage if there had been any Mods but they said No makes you think. ha ha
  11. Hello I too dont have any Creaks n groans from the inside, but i have had the fith injector done (Recall) which i think this is the only recall the 220d has had on its own, again it never failed they just did it as the car was in there (garage) As mentioned all the others are also related to the 250 I today had the steering rack replaced (warranty recall) & the Rear Brake Pads also 1 caliper was swapped (again Recall) HOW MUCH HAS THAT COST THEM WOW Tomorrow i will test the steering on a good run to see if i notice anything different, ( i bet i dont ) except i did notice my steering wheel was perfect centered :winky: (just a pet hate of mine) I do think at Times TOYOTA/LEXUS do replace things just as precaution, i bet the likes of some other Major manufacturers dont do half what The T does. I was told the other day of a guy that had a TOYOTA Land cruiser and it was 4 years old, and the cylinder head cracked TOYOTA replaced it as they extended the warranty to 5 Years as they had found a fault with them in very Cold Condition countries. So they Honour it all over the World So i guess the Lexus Statement could be true They are aiming for the Persuit of Perfection. Regs Matt ps i will let you all know if steering any different
  12. I had exactly the same problem on my is250 se MM, it took almost 2 years of convincing to different lexus garages to sort the flippin problem, the car had numerous geometry checks and always came back fine. You would get a vague felling on the road and extra tramlining on normal roads, no confidence to overtake and a sway feeling when driving above 70 - like its a windy day. However last fortnight ago I had lexus Reading look at it and the car was taken on a 40 mile test drive up and down the m4, they were then convinced that there was a problem and the steering rack has now been replaced (£3000 charge to Lexus). Keep persisting and stating it is not safe and they will have to rectifiy the problem, before the steering rack was changed it was a really poor drive. Now it seems like normal, responsive and confident. My car is going in Thursday for the Steering recall problem but all i was told was it is a link bar that can cause the steering to go stiff when on full lock But me thinks that is not true i wonder if they will replace the entire steering rack, as they want the car for the day, told me its a minimum of 4hrs seems a bit long just for a link bar ............ as i mentioned in another post if my steering wheel is not ***** on when i drive it, i will be going back untill it is, one thing that gets me wound up is a steering wheel not centered, Matt
  13. Dont worry they Brown/Darling will get the money back in other ways look at the petrol rising again, it is now back to 10p per L cheaper than diesel when only 2 months ago it was around 14p per L cheaper, just the extra tax on that 4p, if i could earn the tax on that of every 4p per L sold in UK i would be very very well off :winky: And we do have some Bank bonuses to pay for Matt
  14. ha ha nice way to put it and i am one of the ones that love it oh and the marmite Matt going back to the serious side Why would they not cover it under warranty seems bit strange to me !!!
  15. looking at the bootlid the chaffing is evident below the L in lexus and below the d in is 220d at the curve point on the external corners of the lid, this corresponds to the bumper when closed.this is evident on every IS mk 2 that i have driven to date regardless of age. Ta dgman ah ha no i understand i will have a look at mine but then again i have had two rear bumpers fitted in 6 months due to people wanting to get a closer look at my rear parking camera 1 Honda civic reversed in to me then he had the nerve to say to me stupid car this is (civic) you cannot see out the rear screen T :tsktsk: er i said then a Ford focus classic shunt at the M6 junc 3 island aggggggggghhhh all sorted now but i will check it out as both bumpers were done by Lexus dealer
  16. hate to sound daft but can someone upload picture showing this as i have looked at mine and i dont understand where it catches the bumper ?? Ta Matt
  17. not bad price for service..taking thats from lex bham? Yes it was super service from them just left it with them at 8.30 went over to the Fort shopping centre had a call at 11.00 saying car is ready. but as i said back thursday for new steering rack i get very funny if the steering wheel is not put back in the centre, it has to be spot on or i get paranoid I remember driving to see Tony (WIM) once just to get the steering wheel centered in my IS200 then because Watford had too many corners, i drove back to M1 went one junction then went back saying it is slightly out, fair play to Tony he did sort it, So God help them i will not take it cannot be done for an answer ahhhhh now breath LOL Matt
  18. I knew it was too good to be true. All rattle free for just over a week and then the familiar plastic creaks and cracks sounded when travelling over uneven surfaces. The sound appear to be coming from the armrest area. I did notice that when my missus sits in the passenger seat the rattles/creaks are much less. I wonder if there is something inside the passenger seat mechanism that is loose ??? I still get the creak sound in my right ear near to where the upper part of the seatbelt housing is. The rattle are less than they were but there still is that unsettling plastic rattling from the centre console. I just don't want to have to contact them to take it in again Sorry to hear that ref the seat mine had some noise from drivers seat, when i mentioned this Lexus Bham said they would fit a seat bracket modification kit ? what ever one of those was but there is no more rattles from seat now. Also never worry about contacting them with a problem when you pay that much for a car, you dont want it to sound like a creaking boat at sea, also they just charge lexus for the Labour as its under warranty, and its a well known issue. regs Matt ps had my 30k service done today £197.00 and no extra charges just a slight recall for next week steering rack to be replaced hope they get my steering wheel straight or i will be leaving it with them.
  19. would like to see picture of that ROPE who knows Lexus might use that technical design.
