  1. I have been wondering should we change the name of the forum to the Lexus Owners and non-Owners Club. By the way, does anyone remember Waldorf and Statler from the muppets. From Wikipedia - "They are two ornery, cantankarous old men who first appeared in the television series The Muppet Show heckling the rest of the cast from their balcony seats. .....Despite constantly complaining about the show and how terrible some acts were, they would always be back the following week in the best seats in the house.!" Don't know why I thought of them! Classic you know you are right they do seem that way
  2. Yeah welldone chap Good choice and love the colour and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club i might just regret this ha ha But there still seems to be a odd couple that no longer own a Lexus but need to keep going on and on, its time to move on As was said in TOY STORY go back to your life citizens. Matt
  3. Parthiban quote [The thing that annoys most people is that the IS250 auto is so good, and the diesel doesn't really match up to the Lexus way. Plus the 250 auto can get around 27-28mpg around town (possibly more) so if the 220d is only in the 30s it isn't really good enough compared to all the extra refinement and luxury the 250 can provide.......... What Extra refinement and Luxury does the 250 have over the 220d ?? Matt
  4. overall happy with mine just two recalls Seat belt/injector) and a water pump leaking Interior mirror replaced(VVVIIIIBBBBRRRAAATTTIIOONN) external mirror glass replaced (all done the same time as the latest 5th inj recall) but as mentioned strange noise from drivers seat when getting in and out of car (goes in Wednesday) but why is Diesel still 10p more than Unleaded Dec 07 Unleaded 97.9p Diesel 97.9p strange that one
  5. Is this what you want this is the one for My IS220d 27060-26030 12V 130amp not sure on make but they are usually Denso units As TOYOTA Own Nippon Denso Regards Matt Hi Matt, First thanks for taking the time to answer me! Highly appreciated. I tried searching on Google, but I couldn't find more information on 27060-26030? You didn't make a typo right (no offence meant here)? Do you have any pics as well? Sorry if I sound demanding, but I am hardly an expert and I don't dare to take out the alternator myself... Regards Hello no offence taken yes that is the number from EPC but sorry i dont have a photo as i dont want to remove anything from the engine area Question why do you need one as i guess this would be covered under the 3 Year warranty and as the IS250/220d is not 3 years old till November take it back to a dealer Regards Matt Thanks man... Well I really need an high output alternator, but therefor I need some information on the stock alternator. ahh now i understand i will look later for you

Regs Matt

  11. Would it have anything to do with resetting the Oil trip meter on the ODO meter or on the MM system was it set in the maintenance, does that need resetting ??? Just a thought I do have a workshop manual( CD) for the 220D and 250 might say in there Matt i do have a picture PM me and i will send info
  12. Well done Chap and as already said there is no comparison to the Astra and Lexus I as many other 220 owners am well impressed with it The mark levinson system makes up for the Diesel guides :winky: Like being at a concert in yer own car Also to seal the colour i use harley wax on Mine (caxton Slate) and it is so easy to use regards Matt
  13. Hello Mine is one of the First on a 55 Plate i purchased mine in May with 17thou on clock, And so far i have (fingers crossed) never had any Probs with Injectors or any rattles. Mine went back for an Injector mod and various ECU upgrades but i never had a problem with them, only thing i complained about was the interior mirror, which has been modified and mine replaced. And the wing mirror glass and when it was in for a new rear bumper (after someone reversed in to me) they fitted a EGR Valve what ever one of them are and then arranged for me to go back for a water pump leak. But all in all i am very happy with the Car the seats are very comfortable (leather) and the Mark Levinson system is awesome, and the rear parking assist camera is the mutz nuts. and for a diesel it is very smooth and i am happy getting around 43mpg. Regards Matt
  14. I had same thing car 10 days old and some daft git reversed in to me in a Honda Civic but as i mentioned before he had Sarga Insurance and they arranged everything but i did stipulate my Car goes Back to Lexus Birmingham, for New Bumber to be fitted. Most of the dealers use a Bodyshop that the group send all make cars to so i found out but in my mind it was LEXUS who did it so any probs i go back to Lexus, Also as yours is Body panel (metal) Damage if Lexus do it your 10 year anti corrosion warranty still stands, where if it goes to A. N. Other garage If anything happens with paint later on IE bubbling/rust then Lexus will say it has had body work done by someone before, again as i found out with my IS200 i had Regards Matt
  15. Its better improvement on the Aux Jack, but a bit costly also you have to do what Tango said put your albums in to Playlist names, then just select them as CDs or do what i did Buy another IPOD i got an IPOD Nano from My mate who was upgrading to a touch so now i have a Touch with music for general listening. rather than it just sitting in the glove Box and the Nano is in the Glove box with each Album as a playlist, also no cover Art so saves bit of space, and i have over 30 CDs as playlists. :winky: Its great
  16. i usually get a slight noise from the Gear stick gator (Vibrating) but i put that down to it being a Diesel But i will mention it before the Warranty runs out January. Regards Matt
  17. I had this on My IS220 and they replaced the Glass under warranty there were no ifs buts or maybe so i guess this is a common thing as you say looks like the heater Element has burnt the Backing of the Mirror But now all is fine again :winky:
  18. I had some on My IS200 but the only problem was the British winter weather if the caps thread is metal and the Valve is metal they corrode and are very hard to undo so word of advice put some grease on the threads of the valve :winky: Thats Todays Handy hints from Mattstheone
  19. I have the IS220D and i am VERY HAPPY (not Many say that on Here) I get and AVG Fuel combined of 41MPG so the On Board is saying the usual Tank AVG is anything from 38-48 MPG Depending on Road use Though i must admit it drives better on the Motorway than just short town hops, but it is still very smooth and quite inside for a diesel Also all the Toys with the MM system, and as i had a IS200 before (petrol Alcoholic) I am happy with the Fuel Economy. Best thing you can do is as others say take one out for a test drive (not just around the block) Really Test it long roads short or try and take in the A1 and you decide as you will be driving it not us on this forum, if you have the choice go for the MM system, Mine is the 220dSE MM with full leather seats. Matt
  20. Also i think if you have put the hand brake down and stopped the engine, it will not restart unless the hand brake is up. Just a thought
  21. Two girls on service Desk Leanne & Megane Very friendly and Helpfull i cannot blame them for not checking it same as the water pump they are there to do a job not decide what action has to be taken. i guess that will fall on davids shoulder (service Manager) but i very rearly see him there (probably hiding) oh well back friday for a New Pump and coolant then for the winter
  22. Yeah bit stupid really, to me if there is any leak they should attemp to seal it atleast. But this way i know i will have a new pump fitted and new coolant ready for the Winter.
