    I don't think I would take it... I would open an online saver account and put the money in there - and then use it if necessary, otherwise save it. Such add-ons always seem to have so much small print and the cynic in me says they are just commission jobs...

    Two stupid questions... Now it's darker, I noticed last night that three of my doors on the inside, have those little courtesy lights by the door handle ( and footwells etc ) but my driver door doesn't. Is that intentional(?) or is it more likely that a bulb has gone? If so, how does one change the bulb, or does it require some bizarre faceted, diamond encrusted device to do it?

    I thought lubricating the struts was a no-no, if that's what you mean? Or is the 'arm' something different?

    I bought some nice beige coloured rubber mats from amazon. Perfect fit and good for when the weather changes to rain and snow...

    Have you tried 'pulling out' the seatbelt to see if there is anything attached - like one of those seat belt tensioner things?

    Does anyone know if Michelin's new Cross Climate and the forthcoming Nokian Weatherproof tyres are available in the standard RX size as yet? They get good write ups...by Honest John.

    I din't know the answer... but if you didn't buy from a Lexus garage, can you subsequently still get a Lexus warranty?

    I think a lot of it depends what you WANT from your warranty? I wanted peace of mind - as far as is possible. Buying used from Lexus, i got 12 months 'free'. Though did buy 2 more years also. ( less than £900 ) But as important is buying a decent one in the first place - such that any warranty is more of a fall-back than a necessity. Maybe...?

    Can anyone clarify what I should top up my 2003 RX with in terms of coolant? The handbook seems vague, and I've also read long threads elsewhere on the virtues of Red and Pink coolant.

    Don't forget the complientary wash & vac ... ;-) ... I take it's an essentials service ? And the free Wine Gum(!), and tea, and biscuits, and tyre shine... It was an Intermediate/Minor...
