  1. Glad you found your way on here @caldera. It's a wonderful car, I had a heavy heart when it left the drive but had to be done, happy it's gone to a good home with an LOC member. Lots of very helpful and friendly people on here, you'll enjoy it.
  2. Gents, May i draw your attention. @ThebigC My time has come to part ways. Would love for it to stay in the club, just listed. thanks
  3. Morning Team LOC. Plenty of threads on this but I just came across something that excited me a little and thought it may help our small community. I replaced my brakes all round some time ago and recall the trauma of finding original Brambo front discs (or discs at all for that matter) for the ISF. Well I just ordered another two sets of discs for my race car for the upcoming season and randomly thought i would take a punt and see if they made discs for the ISF. Result result they do! I can recommend these chaps and endorse the quality of their discs having proven them in racing for at least 3 seasons. For info my race discs exceed 800 deg C, never had a warp, crack or any concern with them so for the relatively sedate road puposes you cant go wrong. Anyway link and screen shot. When the time comes I know where I'll be heading. http://www.mtecbrakes.com/brake-discs/lexus/is-f-08-13/is-f-5-0-02-08-12-13.html
  4. Just to throw it out there... have an HPS Intake pipe I'm not using now having designed my own. Like Pete I know run without he two top breather hoses from the heads and the RR-Racing AOS system (although not fitted yet).
  5. Emjay, you are right I designed my own Intake system which is a hybrid of the Lexus CCSR, and the HPS Intake tube with a panel filter. There is an increase in noise but it isn't in the realms of a full open cone intake like the K&N. It also still retains the secondary system so no matter what you do it's not going to make much noise before it comes on song and askes for the extra flow at 3.5k.
  6. Personal preference. I wanted a more OEM look and thought the 35% would look more that way. The Limo tint look just isn't for me but don't dislike it. Don't think the inside would be to dark with the 20%.
  7. Hi @dr_rick, yes the pictures I put up and during and after and that price rings true to me, think it was £135 or something like that for mine. Enjoy.
  8. Very odd, didn't buy my car direct from Lexus but does have a full Lexus service history. Had 6 months warrenty from seller so didn't start my Lexus extended warrenty until that expired. No problem at all buying it.
  9. Ok bad example it just happens the S3 was my last car. It is of course the ultimate answer 4x4 on winters but my RX8 R3 and BMW 335d were both RWD and were a whole heap better in the winter than the 4x4 on summers. I don't have a need for the Volvo to run winters as it never does any real miles, it does the nursery run, an odd trip into town and the load lugging in summer for our trips.
  10. It's a fair enough comment, as with all things it's each to their own. Since I first used winters 5 years or so ago I'd not be without them, a lot of people dont have the same requirement as I do, I may live in the Midlands but I travel every other week to Scotland and up to Wick. Not a chance in h£ll i'd venture up there without the assurance of winters.
  11. Winter tyres all the way, well worth the investment and time. We have a Volvo XC60 AWD also, it was shamed by my Audi S3 on winters., a RWD car on winters will sail past a 4x4 on summers in bad snow...
  12. So these (finally) arrived today. Rims as expected not up to OZ or BBS standard but they're winters so ideal. Fitting early December I think. Temp still hovering annoyingly around the 7deg mark.
  13. Would imagine as you can get EBC yellows, the Reds must be available, don't know for sure as haven't looked. Reds are the equivalent of the Hawk ceramics as I understand it.
  14. I do like those, good to see as I don't think mine will look massively different. Makes it look more German I think, has a waft of BMW going on. Yep thumbs up.
  15. Not handed Rick, the venting and drilling isnt directional....On the Brembo and Pagid discs at least.
  16. I am in this very process right now so should give you an idea. None of the below really needs doing as by most standards the ISF is a superb example as she stands but I cant resist...As mileage is decreasing and the 4x4 is getting more use I'm going to take her off the road for a few weeks for a freshen up. I already have it quoted up: Front bumper, both front wings, bonnet, full length side skirts inc. back bumper, rear boot lid, stone chips to door shut on drivers side, all four wheels, brake calipers done in LFA Blue and fitment of my carbon boot spoiler. So pretty much full paint with exception of doors, roof and rear quarters, bare in mind this is no mere waft in or paint over, its a full dress back, primer, paint and clear coat. Just under £2800. Its not cheap but thats what it takes. Its the labour time for proper dress back that does it. A quick flat, build up with primer and then spray it in would be much cheaper. Not saying either is the right or wrong way, both perfectly viable options and look the same in the end. I am I have to say a little excited about it all...
  17. That's upsetting, common problem on the 250? Be interesting to find out if they do, I would imagine half the battle would be actually finding a set of ISF calipers for sale in the first place.
  18. There can be a huge variance but generally not in the finish i.e. painted or powder coated. The variance generally comes in the preparation works and the time taken to complete it. As a reference point the cost for a full set of 4 wheels, tyres stripped, chemical dip bare metal, aquabrade, any damage removed then powder coated is just under £500 and is a 2 day turn around.
  19. Interesting that not heard of that before. The place I use have done 2 sets for me previous and I know they do a good job. Wonder if that place just forgot to balance them up afterwards or it threw a wheel weight?
  20. Would have loved them in an anthracite to make them less noticeable but unfortunately not available. Just plain silver, should still look good. Will certainly post some pics when they arrive.
  21. Just ordered my winter setup. Have always run winters even on my old Quattro's. Good formula for winter setup is cheap rims, good tyres. In this instance went for a square setup of 225's at each corner. The fox rims vaguely reminded me of the LFA rim so should look ok... for the relatively short period they will be on each year. Once these arrive will have my originals fully refurbished (not that they really need it but I cant stand even the smallest mark) so will be chemical stripped to bare metal and powdercoated. Good times
  22. Plug in wifi obd2 (scan tools) unit with dash command iPhone app for basic diagnostics (find it ok for a quick look and logging data while running the car) and also a stand alone which is the Innova Equus 3160 which will delve a little deeper.
