Im also sorry William, to here about the broken spring.... I would like maneesh says take some photos of the pothole,putting say a ruler in to show how deep the pothole is...you will find as soon as you take it up with the council,the hole will be repaired so get some pictures.. You should have a good case about the pothole..in fairness they should repair your motor...If the roads were kept up together in the first place...say over the last 15 years theres not been much resurfing around our area.... I remember going to Greese years ago on holiday and thinking how poor there roads were... then going there again on holiday years later and thinking how much better they were than ares.. Good luck.

Hi,maneesh sounds like you should replace the front lower ball joints first and see what happerns,see what improves in the way it drives Maybe like you also say replace the engine and transmission mounts. Let us know how you get on mate....good luck.

I will be up at Combe,its just up the road from me,dont think i will take the 400 around,the handling is to soft and i think the bottom of the front bumper will dig up the tarmac when i get on the brakes on the way into quarry corner For anyone interested theres the first Action Day of the year on Saturday 24th April.

Hi has anyone replaced the emmisions return pipe on there LS 400.Its a small pipe with a rubber section init and they crack,giving the car a blowing exhaust sound from under the bonnet,think the part number is 25601.Lexus say the pipe is around £100 and another 5 hours labour to fit it at £89 a hour at Lexus Bristol.The pipe is at the back of the engine and a real fiddly job to do... Mine needs to be done,just wondering if could get the replacement cheaper from somewhere else?

Think things are getting bad every where in this country,down my street last week the police were out 3 times in one night.A group of kids going around the whole street playing everyone up,play knock out ginger with the whole street,they broke someones front door window and set fire to anothers front door.The oldest is may be 13 and the youngest 6,throwing stones at peoples house windows but manily picking on the old and disabled.So the next night i was up the road chatting to one of the people who had been having problems with them,he was in tears talking to me because he felt so helpless not being able to do anything other then call the police,who had not caught them.Anyway i saw where they ran off to,over the fence into the school grounds so i called the police and kept a eye on where they were.I flagged the police car down and pointed to where they were,another neighbour had them on video showed the police and sooo far a happy ending the streets been quiet for nearly 3 nights.The police took the kids round and made um say sorry to the people they had troubled and hopefully now they know where the kids live in case theres more problems.Now believe it or not one of the kids parents has been round to give another neighbour a mouthful for calling the police about there kid.So again the parents seem to be to blame in my view....

Ive spent weeks finding out about what wheels will fit the LS400 and there are very few that fit straight out the box,the off set needs to be at least 41 or more 45 is good or they will rub on the arches,the higher the offset the nearer the wheels are to the middle of the car...giving clearance...for the arch.. :)

Ive found since switching from ballon tyres 205/65/15s on the Senator24V to 235/40s i think/17s,and now 205/65/15 to 245/40/18s on the 400,because of the squarer shape of the lower profiles tyres (40s etc) and id say they ride flatter on the road,meaning theres more tyre to road contact i also tend to run a high tyre pressure like stew.In the fronts i have 42 in both the Senator and LS 400 which is the max which it says on the tyre and rears 36 on both cars.Ive found on the senator they wore evenly across the tyre fronts and backs,not had the tyres on the 400 long enough yet to see much wear... my point is,im no tyre expect but id say the low profile 35s,40s,etc need a higher pressure so they dont roll on the wall of tyre and the distance from rim to road is less so theres less tyre bounce.
