  1. Ah yes, good spot Paul - I'd focused on the mileage and price. My GS only came in an auto so it seems i'm somewhat out of practice looking at the type of box.
  2. Or this with FSH, an unusually clean MOT history and more info in the ad http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201707277774820 It also has a new clutch but at such a low mileage...are 2.5's known for munchin' clutches?
  3. This one? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201706046122462 Low mileage and within your budget. The MOT history shows some damage to the NS wheel arch in '14 and had a few items listed in '15, so check the receipts for repairs and ask for the history.
  4. I can imagine that you're keen but some patience now will pay dividends in the long run
  5. Daniel, if you need to check an MOT history use the UK Gov site; https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-status There are also mobile app's available if you want a quick reference whilst out and about e.g. Vehicle Smart.
  6. Well found Fraser, it's good to see a car stay in the LOC. I guess you're trawling back through the old threads now...let us know what you uncover.
  7. Lookin' good, well done. I hope 'her who must be obeyed' was pleased?
  8. @lockeyboy, alas no as we've had pals visiting and been grand daughter sitting this weekend. I've a new lance and snow foam to try too. Will endeavour to get stuck in to 'em this week, weather permitting.
  9. Impressive that you can get such an improvement by taking it easy. Just out of interest, is that over a mix of town/country lanes? What do you get on a steady motorway run?
  10. Excellent, bodes well for the vehicle history and the current condition.
  11. Impressive. What was your average for the entire trip?
  12. Understood pal, you take a well earned rest. After a few cold ones Thanks for the update.
  13. Phew, I'm glad the car was a good deal for you after committing to travel the length of the isle (twice). Enjoy your trip back home in your comfy limo.
  14. I wonder how Fraser is getting on? He's been quiet, so hopefully he's clocking up a few miles on his way home in a purple/blue GS 450H SE-L...
  15. Ah, only just seen this and yes my earlier check was on the 'other' car. Checking GU56 ZZK...shows that the OS rear exhaust had a major leak last year, headlamp bulb colour in '15. 2014 shox. 2013 OSF headlamp beam out and reg plate incomplete, I wonder if it had a slight knock? The rest are low pads, tyres which can be expected. Year on year mileages show pretty regular use.
  16. The ClubLexus site has a whoppin' 135 page thread on 3gs wheel choices, should you want to while away a few hours... https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-3rd-gen-2006-2011/440148-3gs-wheel-thread.html I'm sure many of you already knew about it, apologies if so. Can't say that I've seen any that work for me.
  17. I clocked this earlier today too (email) and find a low count out here in the sticks I scrolled up to Leeds and see a big jump, not as large as London tho...
  18. If it's Blue Onyx Perl then it was only used in '06; http://www.toyotareference.com/lexusgs/2006-2011
  19. Oh and also ensure it has a working spare key, as they can be costly to replace/re-code.
  20. If the Gatwick car doesn't work out for you, then maybe you could try the Chesham car I listed!
  21. Dang, I thought I'd found the only purple one FS in the country as well Okay, well you still have a fair bit of 'advice' to arm yourself with. Wow, you're flying down there eh. I hope it turns out to be a decent motor/as described/etc. Good luck.
  22. Nothing odd showing up in the MOT history, just the usual misting shox's, worn tyres and brakes. Seized calipers are a dealer money spinner to replace the entire caliper when in fact it is just the slider pins that dry up. If the sliders are greased regularly then it's not a problem but dealers don't seem to take the time to do this. But then why would they if they can charge for completely new calipers. TPMS is the tyre pressure monitoring system to alert of any punctures. It's not mandatory on your year of car, so any warnings will go through an MOT without failing.
