  1. Glad to hear that you are liking the NX. A dash cam is one option to deter/catch naughty folks but coverage isn't great e.g. vision is typically front/rear and not side/side. If the damage occurs at home then have you considered CCTV? Wiring into the fuse board can be easy these days with the likes a piggy back fuses, here's mine (drivers foot well). The camera can be easily unplugged without the need for tools. Note the dashcam earth wire 'c' clipped to the fuse board bolt at the bottom on the pic.
  2. Welcome to the forum Ian, sorry to hear that your car has been scratched I'd wire a dashcam into the fuse board, then you can choose your fuse to be either permanent live or ignition switched. I guess the dealer wants to have 3rd party devices easily removable. Here's a recent guide from Matt that explains everything you need; Good luck and let us know how you get on. How are you finding the NX?
  3. Really? Is it not just a case that the HID's use a flat beam instead of kicking up at one side? Update: just seen this
  4. Are they set in 'snow mode'? https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-4th-gen-2013-present/668801-windshield-wipers-check-yours.html
  5. Options from Japan http://www.admiration.ne.jp/products/index.php/search?cell003=LEXUS&cell004=GS&cell005=UZS+190%2FGRS+191・196+H17.09~H19.09+M%2FC+前&cell029=RICERCATO+BUMPER+TYPE Example grill Also; http://www.lx-mode.jp/lineup/2010/09/lexus-gs450h460350-08model.php
  6. Hehe-hehe (or "wheezy snicker" Americanism)
  7. Drat, Honda stick their ballasts under the lamps too...which sucks when yours fail #guesshowiknow
  8. @dougie175 my wheel whoollie stays.. 'pert', sorry to hear that yours...droops! I hear there options to help tho...
  9. Thanks chaps, I'm pleased with my sleeper and her split personality. I've a few tasks and materials lined up, so keep an eye out for more updates.
  10. Good to know that the rad was a straight swap, especially at such a bargain price. Where did the foam sit, around the edges? If so, then they help force the air thru the grill and not to take the path of least resistance around it. Do you have an OBD reader that you can use to get a reading of the coolant temperature? The gauges aren't known for being that accurate and I'm quite surprised that it shows any difference at all. So maybe the gauge is more accurate than most?
  11. Wow, the grill has come up a treat and lifts the front end nicely. It gets a big thumbs up from me
  12. The Moses Gate dealer was noted here recently as selling plenty of Lexus. I can't recall who raised it or if they had any dealings with them tho Keep an eye on http://www.bmcspecialistcars.co.uk too, they pretty much have a test drive vid per car.
  13. This thread is turning into an epic 'How To' guide pal. Very impressive work, well done
  14. @Flytvr, savagegeese on YouTube have some good Lexus vid's that also take a peek underneath to show model differences. You may be right as he drove the RC and GS F's back to back and didn't find much between them.
  15. Ah yes, the ballasts are an extra for HID's. Which if they need replacing can then start getting expensive. Are the ballasts accessible without removing the bumper, lamp housing?
  16. Odd, where'd it go? Try this then...
  17. I'd be very suspicious of the low mileage considering its age. As you say, lots of components could have been compromised with the lack of use. The lack of regular servicing also goes against it. The high price is off putting too, regardless of the mileage. On the flip side the interior and exterior should be close to immaculate. If it's close, then maybe it's worth a look. But I personally wouldn't make a special or long trip for it. Maybe someone on here is local and could check it out?
  18. Good looking motor that and good to see that you've had a busy day working it over. Well done and keep at it!
  19. @chris_fletcher That mount looks slick, pricey though. The latest mounts sure have come a long way since I last used one. I've been using a tow bar rack for years but alas the GS 450H dunnae have a tow bar option
