  1. Unbelievably capable machines, but it would have to be an RS3 for me. Engine note is half the enjoyment of a performance car imho and I dont think anything with less than 8 cylinders makes a better noise than that 5 pot.
  2. Personally I see exactly zero reasons not to have a C63, awesome machine!!
  3. I had a similar fear, sourced the first discs myself and got fitted by a friend. In the end I have had zero come back the supplier will not accept the discs back. New set fitted by national where the manager assured me if they warp that quickly they will replace them FOC and send them back to the supplier. Return power of one consumer versus a major purchaser. Lesson learnt since I have had to but them twice in 2k miles 😞
  4. I find 4wd cars have a flattering 0-60 time but once rolling the drivetrain losses mean they are at a disadvantage to a similar power to weight ratio car. So depends where you want your speed. I had a 400bhp s5 quattro last and it flew off the line in any condition, the F wouldn't have passed it before 70 I dont imagine, rolling there would only have been one winner. This is why theres always a golf R owner nailing it away from every set of traffic lights in the land, I think they have a list of who is on duty at each light at any one time.
  5. Is it not just the discs warped? I had this recently on my wifes honda, very noticeable when braking from speed on the motorway initially but eventually could sense it most of the time. Got the discs checked and they were only ever so slightly warped (and 6 months old) but combined with the heat of a long drive was driving me nuts. New discs..problem solved.
  6. I'm in, I will also try to recruit my uncle in his stang 5.0 and a work colleague in his e63
  7. My usual weekly commute involves 15 miles a day 4 days a week and I average 23 mpg on that (280 to a tank). I recently did a long run and was impressed to get 30mpg sat on the motorway on cruise and got pretty close to 400 out the tank. I agree with Mark not sure how you are getting such poor mpg on a run. Also never managed to get more than 55 litres in the tank when I fill up even when I have been on 0 miles on the trip.
  8. I will certainly be up for a day trip and will probably bring my mate in his stang 5.0, less sure on the overnighter I am away quite a few weekends already between now and the end of the year. Is it worth adding a sat day trip to the poll?
  9. 😂 I am not completely against that idea, but I would need someone to give me all the details of the last one
  10. If it happened in 2017 can we just press repeat? Or did I miss some sarcasm
  11. That plus you need to start the stopwatch exactly as the car starts moving or a few 10ths could have been gained that way. It could be filmed down a hill etc VBox or similar is the only accurate way. I've been on many a forum over the years where the consensus has been that the manufacturer downplayed the 0-60 time and the car is actually quicker than published. I see no reason why manufacturers of performance cars would do this personally.
  12. I'm praying mine break so I can justify an exhaust to the wife 😀
  13. Ahh filming the speedo, the way all professional timing is done 😕
  14. I did some research on this when I first got the car. General consensus was unless you regularly track the car the street advance z system was all that you would need, they are incredibly cheap and compatible with the edfc too. However now I have had it a few months, I genuinely dont notice the ride as a problem any more unless I hit a particularly bad road. I've been in and owned much worse.
  15. Where are they based? I also might be interested in being the ISF 'mule'
  16. Maybe I'm living in a world where unicorns exist, but I didnt think a lexus dealership would sell a car that someone would then say 'stay clear of that one'. Unless something happened after it was purchased. Either way I think we are all intrigued and you cant do that to us!!
  17. Surely someone can help me out with the 9 year / 90,000 mile service costs at least?? Plenty of 08 plates and high milers
  18. When trundling around, providing you dont get stick in heavy traffic, the mpg and general docility/ease of cruising for a track bred 5.0 is quite fantastic. Enjoy and glad to find another enthusiast owner, we hate them going into the wrong hands!
  19. I disagree, I would say they were the exceptions and this is more the norm price for a model of that age and mileage unless someone needs to get rid asap.
  20. I dont believe they do and not sure they make one offs either. I think somewhere along the line someone has got an Akrapovic sticker and started telling fibs. Would love to be proven wrong if he has a receipt of pic of a manufacturers stamp somewhere they do make nice systems!! How many of the 18 watchers are forum members I wonder......18? 🙂
  21. I'm no help but wonder why so many of the early cars appear to be in silver
  22. Did you see the drop top version though? What a fantastic looking machine http://www.evo.co.uk/toyota/gt-86/13048/toyota-ft-86-open-concept-previews-gt86-cabriolet
