  1. I've had mine just over a month and it's a fantastic car. You won't be disappointed.
  2. Thanks, I'll probably appreciate it more once it's had a thorough clean! Sent from my Note 8 using Tapatalk
  3. No worries! Where did you get yours from? Considering looking into getting one, I've seen them on eBay US but they are quite pricey with import taxes etc.
  4. Sorry, was at work hence the lack of sense. I meant that I don't hoon it round the roundabouts, they are public roads and a source of chaos at the best of times! Thailand is mad, but you should try driving in India that is crazy! Sent from my Note 8 using Tapatalk
  5. Is this it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/LEXUS-OEM-FACTORY-F-SPORT-COLD-AIR-INTAKE-TUBE-FITTINGS-2006-13-IS250-IS350/332103246264?hash=item4d52e561b8:g:SOQAAOSwB09YRu5m
  6. Hi guys, Unusual post, but you can get 20% off nearly everything on eBay between 12pm and 6pm today! Maximum discount looks to be £75. Best way to check is add to basket and use the code PNY2018 (don't buy it now, so then you can check if it works!) I'm going to get 2 Nextbase Dashcams (412gw) for £160 which seems like a bargain to me. 7. Interesting, I may give it a go on the way home. It definitely feels a bit lazy at times, which I assume is purely by design as it's not a race car and more of a relaxed/refined car. Makes sense that mpg might better as I feel like I'm sometimes having to use the accelerator a lot more due to the dulled throttle response much like an eco mode on most modern cars. Haven't tried the roundabouts yet and probably won't Andrew!
  8. Google was my source, was looking for information on the GS300 but ended up getting an IS250!
  9. Hi all, I'm new to the forum and also the Lexus brand. I've just recently bought a 2010 IS250 F Sport with 34k (now 35k) miles. It's a commuter car for work as I drive on the M25 and A2 everyday in Kent, so needed a nice auto for the daily 64 mile round trip. It's Argento Silver with a lot of options on it as I wanted one with the nav and memory seats, saw plenty without them too. Only took pics this morning, needs a good wash, clay bar and wax: Loved it so far, very smooth and comfortable. The suspension seems a bit stiffer now I'm living with it daily, but it's still very compliant. It's more the potholes or nasty ridges in the road that vibrate through the cabin. Just sorted the door unlocking last night as it wouldn't open the passenger door when I stopped or opened my door. Now the doors lock when starting the engine and shifting out of park and lock when shifting into park on stopping the engine, perfect! MPG was good on the way back from Stockport, sitting at around 40-43 mpg over 250 miles of mostly motorway. On a new tank of more realistic town and motorway, it's around 32-33 mpg which I think is very good considering the engine size and being an auto. Things I love about the car - the looks, the seats, the 18 inch alloys, rear camera, bluetooth streaming, electric seats and steering column, memory function, keyless entry and start. A quick query while I have some attention, do people use the ECT power mode switch or leave it as standard? Only just read about it last night on this forum, elsewhere and also in the Lexus manual. Any more hints and tips would be greatly appreciated!
  10. Not sure if this will help, but with the music I had a similar problem on a Pioneer stereo I had. I had to use a windows program called FAT Sorter (FAT is file allocation table!) That might cure your issue, you have to run the program on your USB once the music is on there, using your laptop/PC before you put it in the car. Otherwise, folders should work fine.
  11. The IS300 in my opinion isn't comparable to an Accord. If that's your comparison, then the CL9 Accord is the better car on the whole (IMO of course) Against a IS250, not a fair comparison. Think apples and oranges. Sent from my Note 8 using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks, you too Mike. For reference, I've emailed him too. Sent from my Note 8 using Tapatalk
  13. I've had an issue trying to join as of yesterday if you can help please. Sent from my Note 8 using Tapatalk
  14. It's difficult as it's all subjective. Drives better is a very subjective statement. If you mean sounds better, revvier and lighter on its feet then yes. For my current needs, the Lexus is a far better drive, but I'm after comfort and refinement. My understanding of a Lexus is that it's not about out and out driving experience, I think it's more of a focus on luxury with a touch of sportiness. In terms of a step up, I meant the Lexus is a more premium brand than a Honda rather than just a badge. Which Lexus IS did you have? Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  15. Interesting swap from Lexus to Honda. I have just always felt that the Lexus is more of a step up. Bear in mind I'm a massive Honda fan for the last 15 years or so. To give you an idea, my last 3 cars (1 is still current, the CU2 as the wife uses it) - 2009 Honda Accord 2.4 EX auto (CU2 Chassis code), BMW E46 328Ci and 2004 Honda Accord Exec 2.4 manual (CL9 chassis code). The K24 is a peach of an engine, but it's nowhere near as refined as the Lexus. But it feels revvier and more raw, if that's what you are looking for. For me, the biggest downside of the CL9 was the lack of media integration such as USB and Bluetooth. The suspension wasn't great, but with an aftermarket kit it would be sorted. Overall, it's a real sleeper of a car and quite rewarding to drive. Needs some mods or perhaps the Type S is stiff enough to sort it out. Before the IS250, I was considering buying the Euro R (CL7), but seems too nice (probably too raw) a car to rack up mileage on. I've chosen the IS250 (2010) because it's a better all round package, especially being newer and more luxurious. The Accord is much more fun, especially in VTEC. I loved the manual I had, but the sequential auto is good although a fair bit slower than the manual. Enjoy!
  16. Now a Lexus IS250 F Sport owner! Post to come soon with pictures! Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  17. Yes, about a week ago. It was an F Sport and it was amazing to me. Powerful, quiet, smooth and comfortable, all ticks for me! Was surprised how well the 18's and the suspension dealt with rougher roads. My benchmark is probably a Z4 coupe I used to have which was not suitable for a day to day in terms of suspension. All the Honda's I've had, the suspension is probably the weakest point on them all, along with braking in my opinion. Always a bit crashy and not damped well enough. My current Accord driven by wife which has fantastic brakes, I think they are twin pot up front. Suspension is OK, a bit meh. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  18. I live in the UK, so don't really have a choice in the seats! Just love how the F Sport looks and also drives so well. I found it perfect in terms of stiffness on rough and smooth roads. Was originally considering and SE-L, but it's not my first choice now. Haven't test driven one to be fair either. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  19. Sorry for the late replies everyone. Appreciate you finding that one, but I'm looking for a 2009/2010 onwards and ideally a F-Sport, failing that I would have considered a SE-L. Also concerns me when dealers say Full Service history, when there's no mention of what they define as full service history. I only really appreciate lowish mileage cars if they are still maintained well and still driven. So, they change the tyres and the car generally wants for nothing. I already own 2 Honda's - 1 is a 2001 Honda Accord 2.0 Executive with a manual (the IS should replace this) and my wife drives our 2009 Honda Accord 2.4 Executive auto, incidentally it's a great car. Appreciate this one too, thanks.
  20. Appreciate this, hopefully you and I are both right about that. I'll make sure my local indy looks at the calipers every 6 months, assuming I definitely purchase the car. My thoughts on servicing independently and from a franchised dealer are mixed. On one hand I'm buying a car because it's main dealer serviced and wouldn't touch one that has been independently serviced, because I'm unsure of the standards used by said independent dealers. On another hand, if I sell my car in 2-4 years I'm guessing it would be worth approximately £4k odd, irrespective of main dealer or independent servicing. I always assume that dealers carry out other checks to highlight issues (Honda do anyway) which you could then get done at an independent. The jury is still out for me about which one to do, but the truth is if I could afford it and also get a hire car etc, I'd use the dealer. I'll have a look into the essential care. I'd definitely do brakes/tyres etc from elsewhere but servicing I'd considering depending on prices and benefits such as a hire car etc.
  21. Thanks for all of your comments. I have mixed feelings about the possible impending purchase from reading your comment, appreciated nonetheless. The IS250 on the whole seems reliable, but also if something goes it will be pricey. I'm buying this car as my daily commuter to work and back, so I'll do about 300 miles a week, so a minimum of 12k a year for work plus all the other mileage I'll end up doing. It doesn't help that I've come from owning Honda's, which aren't as luxurious in my opinion but they are shamelessly reliable in my experience if you have the right model and it's been looked after. So, I'm concerned that perhaps it's not the right car as a commuter car due to the amount of mileage I'll do. Petrol isn't an issue, but things outside of servicing and normal/preventative maintenance can be an issue on my cashflow. I'm wondering if this goes back to a phrase I have of buying the decent car is the easy part, keeping it decent is the hard part. Thoughts anyone?
