I saw an article somewhere over the last few days and they were showing how much car insurance has gone up over the last 12 months and showed on average around 25 to 35%

Mine seems to be still working, it has recorded my last journey on Mon 3rd July. Sometimes I find it takes a day or two to update the last journey other times it does it straight away.

Possibly because ISOFIX is only on the outer seats?

Thanks B1RMA for organising it. I eventually got home around 5pm despite leaving you all early after ignoring my satnav and deciding to go back via the M42 .. just to find it closed between J6 and J8 due to weekend roadworks and stuck in the diversions. 😒

When I went inside the Museum there was no one collecting any money or looking at tickets...that was going in the doors near we parked then down the escalator to the Museum display.

OK..bit of a joke, bought this RX450h new at the beginning of October 2022 and in the past my annual mileage used to be around 15,000 which, of course, dropped over Covid. I since retired this time last year and the annual mileage dropped significantly. I have a trip planned to go on Sunday to Bainbridge (N Yorks) to meet the Beamish Vintage Run cars on their lunch stop. During that trip down my mileage on the RX will hit the magic .. 2,000 miles. 🤭😄... I did say it had dropped significantly 😃

I haven't had the Gen3 RX for around 3 years now but from memory there is an information screen that tells you the MAP version etc. If your came with the Navigation/Audio manual as mine did then it tells you in there.

How exactly would you "tidy up" Darlington Road and Durham Road in Ferryhill (not Ferry Hill)? Bearing in mind those roads, and others, are bus routes too and a lot of the old shops on Darlington Road have been converted into houses and flats so need parking as well as the houses opposite. That used to be part of the A167 until they build the bypass undercut as the early motor vehicles could not get up the hills of Darlington Road and Durham Road if going north or south on the A167... these roads are still used for heavy haulage for oversize loads as they can't get under the undercut bridges or those on the A1 Motorway.

I don't live in Durham but a small town nearby. The road past mine is the old road road on the old A167 which used to go through the town but was bypassed around 80 year ago.. that road is 40mph now because the number of accidents at the junctions from the town to the new road. The road past mine is the old main road which is 30mph ... a lot of terraced houses here ... the only space for more parking is knocking down streets or walking a few streets away.

I see you don't live in the UK... many villages and older towns here have terraced houses ... the only way to get space for more car parking is to knock down every second street of houses.

Many of roads in villages and small towns, like mine, were here before cars were invented .. and had houses here before cars... and no other way to build new roads in or out of the town. Banning cars parking on these sort of roads would mean banning the majority of house owners from having vehicles and mean no way to get anywhere.

That might work if all drivers drove using common sense and drove according to the conditions and what is around them. Unfortunately that is not the case with a lot of drivers. I live on a main road into my small town with parking on one side only and vehicles having to give way to others coming in the other direction to pass and also has a pedestrian crossing at the top... but you still have many treating it like a race track at 40-50mph instead of the 30mph ..to a point that it is actually dangerous to use the pedestrian crossing with people being seriously injured crossing there. Also some don't give way to other vehicles and get so close to the parked vehicles that they have taken door mirrors off or hit the site of them.

I started with the "mouse" type of the Gen3 then the "trackpad" of the Gen4 and now the mixed track pad and touchscreen, and for myself I quickly got used to each of them but I am one that can use a computer mouse of trackpad with either hand anyway so using it on the RX was no problem. Never tried using the voice commands so cannot comment on how that works ...but coming from the NE England I would guess it would have problems with my accent anyway.

I have tried to request a quote from yourselves online a couple of days ago .. have not received anything by email (my preferred correspondence method) but have received 2 phone calls from a number I don't recognise that I don't answer.

Following a reduction in my premiums this time last year what a shock for this year. I know premiums have gone up but had my renewal notice while away and they have increased by around 40% ☹️.. had a look at comparison site and the only ones coming out nearer to what I am paying up to now are all ones with excess amounts of over £850 compared to the £250 I currently have. Are others finding big increases this year? Maybe it is that I retired during the last year?

Well ... got back yesterday morning, dropped off at my car by Emirates chauffeur, unlocked car then opened rear no problem then unplugged the solar charger and started with everything working. The advice was spot on ... the solar did its job, I would have been worried without it fitted leaving it for the month.

It is now three and half weeks since I left my car at a hotel near an airport in order to come back to the Philippines, and around another week to go before coming back. Following advice on here I bought a solar charger panel to make sure the 12V battery was OK and also bought a Stoplock steering lock for extra peace of mind. As long as the Lexus Link app is working correctly then it's so far so good with it telling me the battery is still showing green for good and still in the same place I left it. The advice on here was, and always has been, most useful.

Yeah, it was from Teesside, I have found them a great dealer. I got my first RX450h as a high mileage 2011 model with around 70,000 miles and loved the comfort and smoothness of it .. put 30,000 miles on in 3 year .. the only problems being a broken rear spring and height sensor for the headlights which was fixed by welding. Then in 2020 I took it into Teesside for a MOT and while I was waiting made the mistake of looking around their carpark .. saw a 2017 RX450h in black with grey interior, had a test drive and bought it. I took early retirement last June and paid the balance of it off and was content in keeping it... then in September I was in two minds as to the updated model but knew they were dropping the V6 for a 4 cylinder and went to Teesside to see if any prices were available yet.. another mistake ... saw this 2022 in the showroom.. unregistered... in the Deep Blue I would have chosen with the very light interior Premium Sport ... loved it ... the extra equipment over the 2017 Premium Nav was great.. talked with David ... was informed that the interest rate was going up from 2.9% to 3.9% over the weekend.. bought it. They picked a registration number that included my initials at the last two letters ...so very suble private Reg. Always found Teesside Lexus very good and helpful especially when it was RMB. The only downside now is the number of calls from Stoneacre back office trying to sell you extra services once you bought the car.

Thanks ... I am pleased with mine ... Premium Sport... its my third RX450H.. starting with a Gen 3 2011 then a Gen 4 2017 then this one. How did you find the change from the RX to NX?

I bought mine in October last year and it came with an owners manual..not sure if it's a full one but pretty thick. Have you gone for the new model one though..not sure about them.

You might find it difficult, if not impossible, to get hold of a towbar for a Gen4 RX anywhere else apart from a Lexus dealer... I know PF Jones don't.. only up to the Gen3 RX
