  1. Blimey Phil I tried that after that plasticy trim peeled off 3/4 of the way. Thing is tho I can't get the other 1/4 off as its stuck down like #hit to a blanket. I prefer the look without that trim. Just the right amount of chrome.
  2. My view is governments jump on a bandwagon which was created by numpties in another countries government which was actually created by other numpties in another countries government. But it all started I think by a brave young girl who had the kahonies to speak up on a genuine subject. Governments have spin doctors who basically are paid by BIG companies via backhanded to shepherd the ministers in the direction those BIG companies want and those BIG companies aren't necessarily Britain ones cough cough.
  3. Mmmmmm Bill why the is220? Please get the is250 instead. Similar economy. If a diesel is Definitely what she wants and a Lexus then get the is200d as its better than the 220d but still not as good as the 250.
  4. The 'proof' I saw was on Fifth Gear Recharge. Try to find the latest series. Possibly on YouTube. Don't get me wrong I'm no EVangelist. I'm dead against being forced to get an EV and intend on driving my is250 fir as long as I'm physically able.
  5. Hello Farsh. Your video is rather noisy with the leather seats scrunching and you fiddling with the trim. Is your car left hand drive? I'm going to jump the gun a little. The is250 when it first starts has a kind of dull whistle. It's nothing to worry about. It should only last 2 or 3 seconds.
  6. Can't remember what the old TV series was but in it a young Burt Quok playing a drug baron said China will rule the world. Think it was an episode of The Professionals. Mmmmmmm one wonders if those words will come to fruition.
  7. I cleaned my built in single gas oven today. Replaced the grills for shiny new ones. It looks really nice now but I still won't use it coz gas ovens are wasteful of gas. Oh Malc. The only Ninja I know of is the Kawasaki Ninjas 🤣
  8. Hee hee David what a find. Personally I miss the pop up aerial. If a car of mine didn't have one I'd retro fit one. I miss them. And those quarter light windows? What an invention. But air con wiped them out. They were cheap to replace in the good ole days of smash n grab. I know through experience lol.
  9. Hello Vate. Welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. I see you have a 2021 RX350? Is that a typing error?
  10. Correct Graham but Chris I believe have a tesla and those owners have a charging network 2nd to none but they even fail. Charging a car at work I'd say only works at office type buildings. You won't find a charger at a factory making biscuits or a logistics yard or a fruit n veg delivery firm. As for supermarkets there few and far between from what I've seen.
  11. Hi John. I've been doing some research and looking at reviews etc. I've decided against techstream even tho it may be the best but I'm not tech/computer savvy and I know if I got techstream it'd wind me up lol. So I'm juggling with 3 hand held scanners at about the 60-80 quid mark. Reason I'm finally getting a scanner is because of the dreaded check VSC and other lights popping up a few times a year. Disconnecting the battery etc etc is just masking a possible fault. With the car being 15 years old some sensors must surely be on their way out so I want to see what's what.
  12. I've looked online and have seen a lot of websites stating Techstream with 16 pin dongles and 22 pin dongles and have found it confusing and wondering if they're genuine or not.
  13. Silly question now. Where do I get it from? Is it a Bluetooth dongle and a programme on a laptop or phone?
  14. The thing now Bill is not range anxiety but charger availability and reliability of said charger. The rate of charger installations is oh so slow. About 3k a year but it needs to be nearer 10k installations. Other fuel types are coming through like synthetic fuel for instance. But yes who knows what will be in 7-10 years.
  15. As the title asks. I'm asking as I'm taking the plunge. Was going to get the Carista but unfortunately due to hardware limitations they don't do one. Oh confirmed by Carista after I emailed them. So what do you folk use?
  16. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Vehicles only produce about 3-5max % of pollution in towns and cities. The buildings in those towns and cities produce over, if I remember right, about 25-30% pollution. Oh Kish have you driven the UX250H? Sorry but it wipes the floor with the CT.
  17. Way hey I've seen those articles recently. Someone very clever down there in Oz 👍
  18. Samantha let me correct you on a thing or 2. The fact is and I found that out recently and posted a video about it in that the batteries in EV'S do Not lose capacity as much as been misled. For example a tesla model s with 100k miles and about 5 years old only lost 3% capacity. A Nissan Note I think it was after 10 years and over 100k miles lost around 12% capacity. I was surprised by that. As for weights of EV'S. I've looked at a good few EV'S and their petrol counterparts and there's about a 250-300kg difference. Not a small amount but not a huge amount either. Otherwise you're bang on 👍
  19. Blimey Malc a 60's type grill over cooker. They were Great. I'm a halogen oven user. It's made my single built-in gas oven redundant. Electric kettle fast boil for tea and coffee, i switch it off just as it starts to boil. Only put just over a cup full in. Nespresso machine for fancy coffee. Gas hob for Full control of the frying pan. Oh and a 4 slice toaster.
  20. Must admit Paul your post made me giggle a bit. Yes it's a phenomenon how sound travels. How long have you had the is250? How do you find Lexus Bolton to use? I use Stockport and both are equidistant to me just about.
  21. Hi Neil and welcome to Lexus ownership especially the is250 👍and the best Lexus forum there is. We're here to help when you need and want it. Just look in the gen 2 IS section as there's loads of threads in there to read and learn. Enjoy your car. A few photos would be nice. What spec car is yours? What made you go for a Lexus and especially the is250? What was your previous car?
